Mercenary were known as hired individual to take part in armed conflicts in exchange for gold. In the Black Bear Inn, there gathered a different group of mercenary who are drinking, laughing and gamble their golds in a card game. Except for one Mercenary who didn't get along with the others which giving him a nickname "Lone Axe".
That man is Kino Onstone, who is sitting at the corner side of the table that he drinks his favourite beer as his expression is annoyed by the noise of the other mercenary. Next to him is a well made axe that is rugged looking but sharp.

Rook pushed her way into the Black Bear Inn and walked straight over to the rowdy card game. "Jarin, do you.."
"Rook!" the man exclaimed, "where ya bin?"
"Listen, Jarin, I need..." the woman started again.
"Wanna play?" He cut her off, already trying to slide his chair over to make room for her and managed to tip the chair and himself onto the floor. The others howled in drunken laughter.
Rook sighed in some frustration that her companions were too drunk to be of any use right now. She glanced around and spotted Kino sitting off by himself. Grumpy Kino, as she tended to think of him. She strode over to where he was sitting and sat down across from him. "You sober enough for a job tonight, Kino? Some old guy, a mage if I had to guess, wants to hire some help and protection. I didn't get a lot of details yet, but he's pretty insistent that it has to be tonight."

Kino look at her with a glare stare that he replied " If its dangerous...My valerie is thirst for action." He stands up as he crack his back " You know the price is double if the task is dangerous..."|
"Sounded like it might be," she said, "but the pay's good. 2 crowns a piece for 1 night of work!" That was more than Rook usually could make in a month, which perhaps should have warned her that it was going to be more than just a little dangerous.
"You in? He's waiting for us outside," she was already heading back toward the door, draping her bow across her body to make it easier to carry.

Outside waited a bearded man wearing a brown cloak and tall boots. His visible tunic appeared to have some expensive embroidery upon it, though the garment itself was frayed in places. He paced a bit impatiently in the cool night air. The autumn chill seemed to have set in early this year.
"Ah!" He quit pacing when Rook and Kino emerged from the Black Bear Inn. "Only the two of you?" He sounded slightly disappointed, but gave Kino and his axe an appraising look.
"You in? He's waiting for us outside," she was already heading back toward the door, draping her bow across her body to make it easier to carry.

He stands up as he chug his last beer to empty then smack it on the table then he leave the payment next to the mug. As he went outside, He manage to meet the client for this mission " So your the Client? If so you better tell me if this quest is worth of my time " He lean on the wall next to the door as he cross both of his arms.
The man rubbed one hand over his short beard. "Not sure how much the lass... Rook, right?... told ya." Rook nodded.
"I'm Elias," he introduced himself, sticking to only his first name. "I'm looking for a book of magic, one I believe might be found in the ruins of Strathmore. Pay is 2 crowns for each of ya to watch my back tonight while I search for it. Anything else of value we find, we split."
Sounded simple enough to Rook. She knew of the ruins... only a few hours walk north of here and she'd even been there a few times as a teenager when her father was teaching her how to track. It was a desolate place and she didn't expect to find a whole lot of value, but the 2 gold crowns was more than enough to satisfy her.

"Of course, lass!" Elias replied, then looked back at Kino. "You interested in the job?"

Rook gave her companion a sideways glance, hoping his lust for action didn't lead him into doing something foolish to get himself into trouble. Or worse yet, get her in trouble. She felt a moment of unease, realizing that she and Kino didn't know each other very well, but pushed the feeling aside and strung her bow before they started out.

Kino stay silence as he wait for the signal or the time to move out and go to this ruin they say.
Elias stared at the man with the axe for another few moments, waiting for him to provide his name. But when Kino stayed stubbornly silent, Elias shrugged and laughed, "Silent type, huh?" And though he was outwardly jovial, a slightly irritated look crossed his features.
"Let's head out then," he said and took the road north. It was a chilly and clear night, the stars twinkling brightly, but no moon to light their path, so they were forced to rely on the lantern.
"You ever been to Strathmore before?" Rook said quietly to Kino as they walked.

" I havent heard that ruin before...especially in a 2 years of war." He was walking besides her as he feel the chill of the cold night.

He listened well to Rook's story and he understand what she meant. " If you that tresure is well hidden, I believe something is guarding it that no one can lay hands on that treasure."

(Thanks) some unknown person walked in “ yep it protected and I found the treasure. But of course I let it be cause I think history should stay the way it was meant to be. But I could be wrong what do I know?”
Rook startled as the stranger emerged from the darkness on the forest road.
Elias, surprised as well, was drawing his long dirk from his belt. "And just who are you?" he asked, holding the blade defensively as he sized up this newcomer... a girl. "And what are you doing out here?"
He glanced nervously into the treeline, thinking the girl was meant as a distraction for an ambush.

“ your fine. Do you belive in magic? If you don5 then you won’t ever understand how thoses ruins connect with a temple would hold a grave yet powerful treasure.”
He was little shock to meet to new face and that he take a hard grip on his axe if this is an enemy ambush or not.
Rook took a few steps away from the others. If things took a bad turn here, she needed room to maneuver her bow.
The girl should not have been able to come upon them like that unless she was aided by some kind of magic, a thought that made Rook uncomfortable. She, for one, certainly believed in magic and knew it to be dangerous. Was the girl some kind of fairy-creature perhaps.. with her purple hair and eyes and her talk of powerful treasures?

“ a warning really. If you go anywhere near the runs for the next 3 months then you life could change forever or end. You need proper stuff to survive.”
