Ben walked into the small coffee shop on the corner. He had just finished a long school day and needed something to drink. Ordering an iced tea from the front counter he sat in one of the tables and looked around. Even though it was after school the coffee shop was empty, a couple were sitting in the corner talking quietly and a few seniors sat around a table playing a card game.

My first day of work. Nice. At a coffee shop of all places. I hate coffee. The first couple of customers came in.

I served some old guy a mochaccino. Except for that, there wasn't much to do.

I stretched my limbs, slouching over the counter, brushing my long, dark hair back. This would be a long

long

day.

Milo bounced into the coffee shop, all smiles and energy that didn't match the mostly empty atmosphere. He'd just raced off the university campus, trying to get to the coffee shop before all the other students who would probably make the place packed. He skidded to a stop in front of the front counter, having to look up considering his short height which made most people confuse him for a junior high student rather than someone in graduate studies. "H-hey!" he managed, needing to catch his breath a second before he could ramble out an order. "Could I get a cinnamon sugar latte with extra whip cream and soy milk. Only two pumps of the cinnamon though, please!" He flashed an extra smile, knowing he was a bit extra with his beverage, but he needed a treat right now after all that studying.

Ben sat in one of the tables in the corner when a kid, probably from the nearby middle school, came into the shop. The boy looked very happy and excited to be here. His happiness was almost infectious enough to make Ben happy but not quite. When the server came to deliver his drink he quietly took it and paid before turning to his workbook. A good study session was just what he needed right now. Ben had been falling behind in many of his classes and it was really dumb of him to have put off studying for so long, he would just have to work twice as hard now.

After paying for and receiving his drink, Milo went to sit at the table next to the other guy who was studying. Huh, he looked short too, maybe even shorter than himself which was quite a feat. After tossing his heavy book bag on top of the table, he took a sip of his drink and draped both arms over the back of his seat so he could look at what the other boy was reading. "Heeey, are you a university student too? What are you studying?" He flashed a bright grin, not considering that he might be interrupting.

Ben looked up from his studying to find the guy who had come into the shop looking so happy staring at him from across the table, slightly disturbed as to why this guy had singled him out but kind of happy to get a break from his studies he answered the questions the other boy had asked one at a time, “yes I am an university student, and I was studying my homework but now I’m not, so hi”. The longer Ben looked at him the more he realized how cute the guy across from him was.

After a long day at the Academy, she needed a recharge. She had a full night of studies ahead. She saw two guys talking to each other at a table. She walked towards the counter, seeing one worker. "Hey" she said. "Could I have a mocha latte?"

Milo grinned as bright as he could. Making new friends and talking to strangers always but a smile on his face. This guy could be either one, probably. "That's cool. I do urban studies. You? Ah...my name is Milo by the way. If we're going to be coming to the same coffee shop all semester, I hope we can get along." He shifted back to take another sip of his drink, still smiling.

I groan and rub my eyes tiredly, walking into the coffee shop. I've been here very often, I quite enjoy tea, coffee, anything. I go to the counter with my drawstring bag, wearing just a grey sweater and black skinny jeans. "Can I get an iced almond milk latte?" I ask quietly. I get my latte and go to a table nearby the two boys and across from the elders. I take a sip as I take my sketchbook out of my bag, starting to sketch random but realistic things.

After she got her latte, she sat down at an unoccupied table and began to think about her studies. She was one of the smartest students in her school. And most responsible. Her reputation was the smart girl who never got into any trouble. That's probably why she didn't have many friends. But Evelyn wanted to show the other side of her. The side that sang her heart out with her melodious voice. The side that did jazz dancing at the nearby studio.

Mirium walks into the coffee shop, already busy of course. Why was she always so late? Not that she wanted to have much before her actual breakfast. Mirium walks over to a girl with Shiny Black hair and gives her a half grin. Becoming social was a challenge from her ex boyfriend who said they would get back together once she met 5 other people, had their phone numbers, and had went to the movies at least once total. "Hi" She says, and realizes she was to quiet only her head knew she said it. Her lips had barely moved. "Hi!" She says and regrets it immediately. It was way to loud.Everyone stares at her and Mirium fights back a blush, being defeated instantly.She raises her head just enough to look at the girl she had said hi to.

She smiled brightly at the girl who approached her. "Hello, I'm Evelyn" she said.

Ben had been looking at the boy in front of him, trying to memorize his face when across the room he heard a loud “Hi” looking around him Ben saw a few new people had come in. Two girls and another couple, one of the girls was standing by the table the other girl sat at and was blushing, probably because she had said hi so loudly. Looking away from the rest of the coffee shop Ben looked back at the boy across from him. He had said he was doing urban studies, Ben replied “I’m majoring in art, digital and traditional.” Pulling one of his drawings out from the sheaf of papers he put it on the table between them and pointed at it, “I’m supposed to finish this by the end of the week and I’m not even close to done.” The painting looked pretty done, and it was but Ben thought it needed to be better. He didn’t see how to make it better and that frustrated him because it was in no way good enough to turn in.

She noticed how flustered she looked, and sat down. She motioned to her cup. "What did you get?" She asked. "I got a mocha latte."

Mirium blushes, she shows her cup to reveal that it is filled with cookies. "My name is Mirium and I will not be offended if you protect your pride and walk away from me now."

She laughed. "It's fine, I'm not going to walk away. Its actually kinda neat that you have cookies!"

Sky walks into the coffee shop quietly so he wouldn't bother anybody. He stood in front of the shop to examine everything that was going on, and the atmosphere of the store. He decided it was best to sit down for a little before buying anything just so he could soak in the feel of the shop. He didn't like bothering people so he sat in a empty space.

She saw another person enter, he sat down in an empty corner without buying anything. She quickly turned away. It wasn't her business.
