Forums » Help » Possible coarse language in context?

Hi! I just have a quick question: does the word "bastard" in reference to its proper meaning (a character who was born out of wedlock, and whose parents never married) qualify as coarse language if used occasionally - again, in reference to his status, and not as an insult? Thanks, and sorry if the wording is a little weird.

The word 'bastard' is perfectly acceptable to use, especially in the status context! I'm sure it's only a problem if you're calling someone names deliberately to be mean and hurtful, but that falls under an entirely different rule.

'Bastard' doesn't qualify as an off-limits swear word though, you can double check the rule for that here: http://www.rprepository.com/help/rating-clarification#106
