OOC

• How do you normally title your roleplays, and why?
I usually like vague names that have to do with the plot, even if it's not a lot. For instance, a RP I've been considering doing is with a girl who was affected negatively by being mutated, and is now wheel chair bound. I think it would be titled "A walk in the Park" or some such thing since much of the socializing would be done at a park.

• Do you more often than not roleplay in group than 1x1?

I usually do one on one.
• How often do you respond?

It really depends on my mood. I can write five replies in a day or wait three days until my next reply, but I try not to wait over a week.
• How often would you prefer a roleplay partner to respond?

Every other day would be a good pace.

• How long are your replies?

It varies a lot, but it's usually a couple of short paragraphs, or maybe one if I don't have much to say.

• Which genre do you prefer? Why?

Cyberpunk I think it's called? I dunno, my characters just fit into it best, I suppose. And I like cool technologically advanced universes still similar to earth.

• What is something that you'd like to improve on in your writing?

Repetitiveness. I use the same words too close together at times and so it doesn't flow as well.

• Don't mention any names. Describe a memorable roleplay that you didn't enjoy. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?

Ohhh boy. I was on chess.com actually, and at the time I was 13, maybe recently turned 14 years old.
The RP took place in a generic highschool setting, but this one partner messed the whole thing up (it was a group RP). He claimed to have a lot of experience after asking what roleplaying was a few weeks ago, made his characters self inserts and they were C R E E P Y, and he double accounted for attention and more characters. It was memorable because he tried to control my characters and got angry when they weren't attracted to his, and attacked people with very little reason. Not fun.

• Don't mention any names if you don't want to. Describe a memorable roleplay that you thoroughly enjoyed. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?
Here on RPR, with yehl. Although we never finished it, he was a really good writer and influenced my style of writing a little (although he's still much better, haha.) He didn't do anything annoying like metagaming or power playing, he had a good character, and Matilda and Erik made friends pretty fast. That was the best chance I had to show Matilda's better side, and it was a lot of fun.

• How important is a character profile? What catches your eye?
Very important. I won't RP with someone who doesn't put effort into their characters or at least advertising them. The main things that catch my eye are good personalities and little details that make the character seem not so good. (describing them as pretty or cute, the best at something, or bragging about violence on the profile.)
Also, the grammar and spelling, because it shows how much work they might put into future roleplays.

• What platform do you prefer?
RPR in PMs.

CHARACTER

• Do you more often than not roleplay original characters, fan character or canon characters?
Always, I love making them.

• Which is your oldest character still in use?
Walter Foxx, which is why he isn't the most balanced character, but I still love him.

• Is character art important? What do you think of people lifting a drawing from Google or Deviantart?
If someone drew it, you shouldn't take it, photographs I think it depends if you're claiming it as yours or not. I dunno why I dislike using art more, I just...Do.
• Which is your favorite character to roleplay as, and why?
Courtney or Walter. Walter is really engaging and writing his thoughts is fun, and I just really like Courtney's personality and mannerisms.

• How do you treat NPC's? Are they important to plot and and setting and main characters, or are they just filler?
I like to give NPCs at least some personality, and I make my characters treat them like they would with any other person, since to them, they're the same.
• What are your guilty pleasures when creating a character?
I like giving them odd mental issues. Not disorders necessarily.
I also like making my characters insensitive for some reason, especially insensitive and snide/sarcastic.

• Do you have more males or females in your character list? Why is that?
I have way more females, because for some reason I mostly get inspiration for girls.

• BONUS!
Send your favorite roleplay partner a message and tell them how great they are.

*Sends message to myself*

Oof, I left out the greatest strength part:

Making creative personalities and powers is what I'm best at.
• How do you normally title your roleplays, and why?
Usually, I use a sentence that will apply to several points and twists in the roleplay. I often use metaphors or known idioms, too.

• Do you more often than not roleplay in group than 1x1?
Rarely - I only have one active right now. I used to play in larger groups, but I find it difficult right now.

• How often do you respond?
A couple of times a day. Sometimes, when I am out of inspiration, there might be a day or two between replies.

• How often would you prefer a roleplay partner to respond?
As often as they feel like it. I would hate to send a half-arsed reply, simply because I have a deadline.

• How long are your replies?
3 + paragraphs of around 5-10 lines each.

• Which genre do you prefer? Why?
I prefer something with either a thriller or adventure vibe.

• What is something that you'd like to improve on in your writing?
I would love to have a larger English vocabulary, since I often get the feeling that roleplaying in a second language limits me.

• Don't mention any names. Describe a memorable roleplay that you didn't enjoy. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?
I played with a person who IC was a flawless, omniscient character, who knew things, they had no way of knowing, and could fix everything with ‘their magic’, and OOC would start drama over the smallest thing happening in-game. It was here on RPR.

• Don't mention any names if you don't want to. Describe a memorable roleplay that you thoroughly enjoyed. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?
A roleplay with DeliriumAngel, which is still going on. There is just such a great, natural flow and chemistry between the characters and the plot.

• How important is a character profile? What catches your eye?
Not that important. I prefer to get to know them through playing.

• What platform do you prefer?
RPR. I used to play on GSM, before it closed down.

• What's your greatest strength as a roleplayer?
I am a history freak, so my history-based roleplays are fire!

CHARACTER

• Do you more often than not roleplay original characters, fan character or canon characters? Why do you prefer one over the other?
I have only played a canon character once (AU Musichetta). I usually always play original characters.

• Which is your oldest character still in use?
Gitta - god bless her cold heart.

• Is character art important? What do you think of people lifting a drawing from Google or Deviantart?
As long as people remember to credit the artist, and remove the art, if the artist requests, I don’t mind the use of Deviantart. I like having a visual reference, but I don’t need it.

• Which is your favorite character to roleplay as, and why?
Emmy or Lyhazza - due to their sass

• How do you treat NPC's? Are they important to plot and and setting and main characters, or are they just filler?
My NPC’s are very important, even though I do use the occasional fillers.

• What are your guilty pleasures when creating a character?
Giving them a very uncomfortable and difficult fatal flaw!

• Do you have more males or females in your character list? Why is that?
Females - but it is mostly 50-50.

• BONUS!
Send your favorite roleplay partner a message and tell them how great they are.
• How do you normally title your roleplays, and why?
Titles tend to be related to either of the main characters or the plot, usually so I don't lose track of what's going on. If I can't figure out a decent title, I'll use a pun for the fun of it.

• Do you more often than not roleplay in group than 1x1?

1x1 are my preferred, but I'm getting used to groups.

• How often do you respond?

It varies with my muse, sometimes it'll instant, other times it'll be a week.

• How often would you prefer a roleplay partner to respond?

Whenever they get a chance.

• How long are your replies?

Usually between 1-4 paragraphs, this depends on my muse and how into the RP I am.

• Which genre do you prefer? Why?

Fantasy, whether it be a medieval or modern fantasy. It just opens so many opportunities for a fun plot.

• What is something that you'd like to improve on in your writing?

My organization, take one look at my characters and you'll see why. They're an absolute mess XD

• Don't mention any names. Describe a memorable roleplay that you didn't enjoy. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?XD

It was one of the first RPs I started on Facebook and it was horrible, characters were grossly overpowered (on both sides), smut ran rampant, it was just a cringefest all over, I've since learned to avoid mistakes like that.

• Don't mention any names if you don't want to. Describe a memorable roleplay that you thoroughly enjoyed. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?

It's actually one I still have going with a very special someone. I was eighteen when it first started and I'm going on twenty in just a few weeks. I've never such a long lasting RP and it led me to someone who has made a significant impact on my life.

• How important is a character profile? What catches your eye?

Very important, a well thought out character makes it easier to figure out plots and such.

• What platform do you prefer?

The RPR for sure.

• What's your greatest strength as a roleplayer?

I'd like to believe my diversity of characters is what makes me unique.

CHARACTER

• Do you more often than not roleplay original characters, fan character or canon characters? Why do you prefer one over the other?

Probably fan characters, mostly because I adore Pokémon RPs.

• Which is your oldest character still in use?

Kyoya Hiro, he's gone through so many changes over the years.

• Is character art important? What do you think of people lifting a drawing from Google or Deviantart?

Not really, it's fun having a reference, but imagining the character is also great. I use images from Google often, but never claim them as my own. As long as you give credit and use them respectfully, I have no problem.

• Which is your favorite character to roleplay as, and why?

Right now? Probably Jonah, he's such a fun trainer to use, quirky and arguably the most unique of my trainers.

• How do you treat NPC's? Are they important to plot and and setting and main characters, or are they just filler?

It greatly depends on what's going on. Some are used to get a plot going, for comedic relief, among many other things.

• What are your guilty pleasures when creating a character?

I love creating characters that can either break the fourth wall by referencing things they shouldn't have any knowledge of, or sometimes they'll be extremely cheesy.

• Do you have more males or females in your character list? Why is that?

Males, it's easier for me to play characters that share my gender.

• BONUS!
Send your favorite roleplay partner a message and tell them how great they are.

Done and done.

OOC

• How do you normally title your roleplays, and why?

I usually title them with something having to do with the plot or characters, mostly so I know which is which. If I have a few with the same plot and character on my side, I'll have little differences in the title.

• Do you more often than not roleplay in group than 1x1?

No, I usually do 1x1. It's a little less stressful for me to be in a group rp.

• How often do you respond?

Usually once a day, though it also depends on how busy I am and how much muse I have for the rp. I also may not respond as often soon since I'm gonna be heading to college in about a couple weeks.

• How often would you prefer a roleplay partner to respond?

Whenever they can find the time. If they're patient with me, I make it a point to be patient with them. I don't like to rush people and I don't like to feel rushed, either.

• How long are your replies?

It depends. I try to at least match the length of my partner's response, though.

• Which genre do you prefer? Why?

Fantasy, mostly because that allows me to use practically any of my characters. A lot of them are non-human in some way because they're made for a certain world.

• What is something that you'd like to improve on in your writing?

Probably showing more body language for my characters.

• Don't mention any names. Describe a memorable roleplay that you didn't enjoy. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?

It was on here, actually. I was 16 almost 17 (I think) The player had basically forced one of my characters to have an immediate relationship with theirs and when I told them I'd rather have there be buildup, they just said we could do that in another rp. Not wanting to upset them, I just went along with it, though I wasn't happy with it.

• Don't mention any names if you don't want to. Describe a memorable roleplay that you thoroughly enjoyed. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?

Like the last one, it was on here and I was 16, going on 17. That rp's still going actually and I still love it. My rp partner for that one has actually made quite the significant impact in my life. They know who they are.

• How important is a character profile? What catches your eye?

Very important. I like to read the profile to see if that character could fit the rp plot or what kind of interaction that character and mine would have. Usually, detail catches my eye.

• What platform do you prefer?

RPR. This site will be my first and last site that I officially rp on.

• What's your greatest strength as a roleplayer?

Probably my enthusiasm when talking about ideas and characters.

CHARACTER

• Do you more often than not roleplay original characters, fan character or canon characters? Why do you prefer one over the other?

I usually rp original characters, though I do have a few fan characters for the Pokemon universe. I just prefer to have characters that I've put my own effort into building from the ground up.

• Which is your oldest character still in use?

Phoenixheart, definitely. She started as a persona I had on a comic-making site, but I eventually turned her into an official character when I noticed that I was really just making her seem like a different person than I actually was. She's gone through a lot of development.

• Is character art important? What do you think of people lifting a drawing from Google or Deviantart?

It really isn't important. I just draw art for my characters because I wanna draw how I imagine them. As for lifting, as long as you give credit where credit is due, I don't mind it.

• Which is your favorite character to roleplay as, and why?

Honestly, I love to rp as Phoe. I just love how sweet she is as a person, despite her past.

• How do you treat NPC's? Are they important to plot and and setting and main characters, or are they just filler?

It really depends. If I like a certain NPC enough for whatever reason, I may bring them back or turn them into an actual character. If not, they just kinda appear and disappear.

• What are your guilty pleasures when creating a character?

Sassy or shy characters. And redheads. I have an unhealthy obsession for making redheads.

• Do you have more males or females in your character list? Why is that?

Females. It's easier for me to play a character of my own gender.

BONUS!
Send your favorite roleplay partner a message and tell them how great they are.

Done! ^_^
OOC

• How do you normally title your roleplays, and why?

Typically with really long wordy, silly sounding titles cause I'm bad coming up with good, fitting titles.

• Do you more often than not roleplay in group than 1x1?

Usually 1x1 though I'm not opposed to groups, so long as they're organized.

• How often do you respond?

varies. At least once a day. Sometimes once I post once a day, sometimes I post several times a day. It just varies.

• How often would you prefer a roleplay partner to respond?

Least once a day

• How long are your replies?

Varies. Typical length is between 1 and 2 paragraphs, though on a good day I can push out like 5 to 6 paragraph posts, typically at the start of the rp.

• Which genre do you prefer? Why?

Sci-fi. I just like how expansive it is, and space ship and alien designs are cool.

• What is something that you'd like to improve on in your writing?

Post length

• Don't mention any names. Describe a memorable roleplay that you didn't enjoy. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?

There aren't many roleplays I can think of that I didn't enjoy, as I would typically end or drop out of those, but I do remember this one rp I was in on a site called Chao Island. Me and my rp partners were playing animals that tried to fight giant monsters. We were fighting a mosnter made of water.

For whatever reason I got it in my head that my character would try and use some cat litter or salt or something to dry out the monster. My other partners thought that was stupid. One of them decided that, inexplicably in the middle of a giant monster attack, someone would give a damn about an animal stealing some cat litter/salt, and that said someone would care enough to call animal control, who'd come in and try and catch my character. In the middle of a giant monster attack.

• Don't mention any names if you don't want to. Describe a memorable roleplay that you thoroughly enjoyed. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?

Well, that would be on here. Me and a friend decided to do a fantasy rp, and decided to keep them short so they would actually have endings instead of jsut go on til we were bored. I really enjoyed the first and second ones. They focused on stopping necromancers from creating these freakish chimera things.

• How important is a character profile? What catches your eye?

I'd say very important. What really catches my eye is when a profile is really fleshed out. Multiple pages explaining different aspects of the character. OOC stuff to help organize some stuff, such as oc's canon, and a gallery with images of the oc.

• What platform do you prefer?

As of late I've really enjoyed Discord.

• What's your greatest strength as a roleplayer?

IDK if it still is, cause I haven't done so in ages, but I feel like I was really good at playing more than one character at a time and juggling between them. Back when I'd first joined it was common for me to be playing like, five different characters at once.

CHARACTER

• Do you more often than not roleplay original characters, fan character or canon characters? Why do you prefer one over the other?

Original characters. I have far, FAR more control over their story and world than I do fan and canons.

• Which is your oldest character still in use?

Prolly Katherine and Jackie. First made them when I was kid, though they were both VERY different characters at the time.

• Is character art important? What do you think of people lifting a drawing from Google or Deviantart?

I think it is, yes. And lifting images from google or DA irks me. I get why people do it, but as an artist, if I saw someone using one of my characters as the appearance of theirs I'd be furious.

• Which is your favorite character to roleplay as, and why?

I have a few.

Jackie because she has a special connection to me, being one of my oldest oc's. That and I like her personality.

I like rping Ds from The Squad profile because he's an ass, and lets me get that outta my system. He's fun to draw too.

And I like rping Pezvhak cause he's just a big grump, which is very different from how I normally am.

• How do you treat NPC's? Are they important to plot and and setting and main characters, or are they just filler?

I treat npc's as side characters. They can be both, filler, and important to the plot.

• What are your guilty pleasures when creating a character?

Tails. Lots and lots of tails. Also shapeshifting.

• Do you have more males or females in your character list? Why is that?

I think I have more women than men. Not too sure why. I assume it's because I relate to women more, and enjoy drawing them more.
Rogue-Scribe

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Love a good survey! This one is quite extensive! Here we go...

• How do you normally title your roleplays, and why?
I try and title the RP with something that is somewhat related to the place it it set in, or the general plot overview.

• Do you more often than not roleplay in group than 1x1?
Usually 1x1 writers, but possibly group characters (each writer has more than one character they write in an RP)

• How often do you respond?
Depends on the RP and writer preference. I prefer not to have a lot of time pass between posts, like a week or more, because I lose connection with the story and have to 'read up' and get back into the flow of the scene to reply, wheras if it is say, daily posts, it is easier to write more fluidly.

• How often would you prefer a roleplay partner to respond?
This I think was addressed in my previous answer.

• How long are your replies?
Again, it depends. I write anything from short paragraphs to chapter-length pages. It depends on teh RP and the co-writer's preference, and usually adjust to suit. I do not do one liner chats on teh forum.

• Which genre do you prefer? Why?
Im a total Tolkien Middle Earth nerd. Its where I started online RP, and enjoy the depth of the verse with the poiiabilities left us in the historical summaries Professor Tolkien left for us. I have written Black Company tales, and also World War 2, Nior, Viking and Medieval Historical tales, and tend to lean into the darker realms in these genres.

• What is something that you'd like to improve on in your writing?
There is always room for improvement, and I am not above adapting into my writing the styles of others. Some work for me, some don't. I guess I experiment with writing style a lot. Improvement is an ongoing thing. My biggest issue is my bloody awful typing.

• Don't mention any names. Describe a memorable roleplay that you didn't enjoy. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?
Wow, four questions in one. My first online group RP on a forum. I was young and it was a learning experience. It had enjoyable moments, but was for the most part a struggle, but I learned a lot and that is why it was memorable.

• Don't mention any names if you don't want to. Describe a memorable roleplay that you thoroughly enjoyed. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?
My 2nd group RP on a forum. It started when my 1st was dying out, and I was still young, but this story had cohesion and the writers were good, and it was the first one I would say I was 'addicted' to. It went for nearly 2 years!

• How important is a character profile? What catches your eye?
I'm mixed on character profiles. I have come to use them, but my main characters were born out of writing, and so the profile came later to document gow I had created the character. I have a hard tome creating a character in detail then trying to fit it into an RP.

• What platform do you prefer?
Public forum based with PM OOC and occasional IC additions.

• What's your greatest strength as a roleplayer?
My smell a 3-day marathon run of writing/posting/interaction? Seriously, I don't know how to answer this. Do I have any strengths? I tend to see myself as a writer of tales more than a player of games.

CHARACTER

• Do you more often than not roleplay original characters, fan character or canon characters? Why do you prefer one over the other?
OC set inside a canonical world. Take my preferred verse of Middle Earth for instance... the canon characters are there, and may be written in as a secondary NCE in scenes where my OC is, but they NEVER step outside of their known canon. An example would be an RP about the evacuation of Edoras to Helms Deep in Rohan. Eowyn, Eomer, and Theoden were all there along with Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas, but the story is focused on OCs within the scene and ther eis only prephrial bits involvingthe main characters. It's like their tales are tole elsewhere, and this tale is about the guy standing in teh background walking by. Hope that al made sense.

• Which is your oldest character still in use?
Halasian. He was developed in my 2nd group RP mentioned above, and thugh he has not been in an actual RP in some time, he birthed Hanasian and Halcwyn and they have led to an epic story I have put together.

• Is character art important? What do you think of people lifting a drawing from Google or Deviantart?
Character art is secondary to me. I have a vision of my character in mind and I may see some artwork that closely depicts what I have in mind. I try to credit ate artists and ask permission if I use their artwork for my characters.[/i]

• Which is your favorite character to roleplay as, and why?
Lately it has been Durian. He is a recent creation (2017) and has gotten used quite a lot in various stories. He is building his history.

• How do you treat NPC's? Are they important to plot and and setting and main characters, or are they just filler?
I tend to use NPCs (Non-Player Characters), or NCEs (Non-Controlled Entities) as I have always known them as. A couple times anNPC/NCE I have created for use for a time then discard makes connection with me as a writer and I adopt them into my mains. It usually makes up for characters I created as mauns and never really gotten attached to, and usually kill off at some point.

• What are your guilty pleasures when creating a character?
I create characters that would likely enjoy should I find myself in the world. Yes, even the baddies.

• Do you have more males or females in your character list? Why is that?
I have more male main characters because of familiarity. I do have a few female characters I have written in specific RPs though. One day I'll find the time to get all my characters uploaded and catalogued here

Bonus - I recently sent kudos to my 'Winds if Ithilien' writing partner .
OOC

• How do you normally title your roleplays, and why?
Normally is something like Book:Chapter or Series:Book. For example, some of my roleplays have been titled Dark Nights: Strings & Keys, Dark Nights: Eternum Amour, Dark Nights: Troublemaker, Domine Monstrum: The Interview, The Saints of Sin City: Fang and Fire, TSoSC: 1984, and TSoSC: La Vie En Rose.
That said, sometimes it'll be a riff on the theme, setting, or a single character

• Do you more often than not roleplay in group than 1x1?
1x1 dominantly, by far. I've only done a few group RPs (on RPR) and they seem to fizzle due to non-posting

• How often do you respond?
Depends on the individual RP, and on my partner. I've got one where I respond several times a night, some where I respond once a day, and then there's others where my partner and I will go months between posts.

• How often would you prefer a roleplay partner to respond?
As often as they are able to that is both comfortable for them and has quality for both of us

• How long are your replies?
Yes.
(I've done single paragraphs when I've drawn a blank, and done half-book posts when I'm inspired. It depends on what's appropriate to the situation)

• Which genre do you prefer? Why?
I wouldn't say that I prefer modern fantasy/urban fantasy, it's just what most of what I do is. I have love for a lot of stuff. Except torture porn gore RPs. That stuff can burn in a dumpster fire.

• What is something that you'd like to improve on in your writing?
-I'm actually quite happy with my writing. I think that I'm flexible enough for various lengths and themes, and I've been told that I have a certain style that (allegedly) is rather enjoyable to read. As long as my partner is happy, I'm good.

• Don't mention any names. Describe a memorable roleplay that you didn't enjoy. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?
My character on Furcadia was put on trial. Allegedly to "evaluate their ability to do their job" or some bull like that. What it actually was was OOC dislike from the other players because I actually read and followed the lore of the dream, rather than just pissing all over everything and doing what I wanted. It disrupted their Kool Kids Klub and they didn't like it.
I was... 29-30, I don't remember exactly. It was memorable because of how screwed up a situation it was. It involved multiple mods of the dream, and even though the OWNER of the dream said it was BS, they still let it go like it was some big joke. Superbly soured me on a lot of things.

• Don't mention any names if you don't want to. Describe a memorable roleplay that you thoroughly enjoyed. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?
There was a very short-lived roleplay that never really took off between myself and Pineapple. It was here on RPR, in PMs, and I was probably 27 or so. It was memorable because it was the first time that we put my Arinbjorn and her Abigaile together. I was actually playing him differently, as a madman and a villain, so we never really set out for anything in particular with them, but there was always the nagging feeling that Arin and Abi (at the time called 'Bliss') were really meant to be. A few years later, Pineapple and I started revisiting some of these old characters of ours, and out of that we've build a whole big universe that covers, I think, over like thirty to forty characters, and counting.

• How important is a character profile? What catches your eye?
To me, a character profile is like an RP resume. It's going to tell me about the character, and it's going to tell me about the player themselves. Formatting, sentences, grammar, all of these things are important. And if it's a well styled profile, that tells me that the player has a sense of the artistic, and isn't as much bound to just the info.

• What platform do you prefer?
I'm actually pretty partial to Skype RPs these days, but really that's just a different format of PMs.

• What's your greatest strength as a roleplayer?
I've been told that my intros are my strong point.

CHARACTER

• Do you more often than not roleplay original characters, fan character or canon characters? Why do you prefer one over the other?
Never played a canon character, and I'm not sure what a fan character is, aside from an OC in a canon 'verse? Either way, OG OC 4 LYFE

• Which is your oldest character still in use?
Arinbjorn, son of Steinthor, brother of Geirmund

• Is character art important? What do you think of people lifting a drawing from Google or Deviantart?
I used to say no, but I've started to feel differently. Having some sort of visual reference is important, yes. As far as lifting a drawing, I'm of the opinion that as long as they aren't trying to claim that it is theirs, I'm okay with it.

• Which is your favorite character to roleplay as, and why?
It's an anon character, but because I've put a lot of effort and heartbreak into this character, and have evolved them far beyond what they were ever meant to be

• How do you treat NPC's? Are they important to plot and and setting and main characters, or are they just filler?
I do love me some NPCs, actually. I've had NPCs that have gone from background filler to their own full fledged characters. I think they're important to have and to use well, like any other tool.

• What are your guilty pleasures when creating a character?
Putting myself in a character, or putting a character in myself. I had a blacksmith that got me interested in metalworking. Later on, my brewing hobby became a profession of theirs. I enjoy my research and watching art reflect life and life reflect art

• Do you have more males or females in your character list? Why is that?
Even split.

BONUS!
Send your favorite roleplay partner a message and tell them how great they are.
I do every day!

• How do you normally title your roleplays, and why?

Usually I go with my gut and make up a stupid, and often humorous title. Somehow. I really dunno how. Im bad at titles guys.

• Do you more often than not roleplay in group than 1x1?

I do 1x1s. Im more comfortable like that. However....I have dabbled in group rp.

• How often do you respond?

I try at least once a day. Sometimes its once a week. If I dont respond that probably means im stressed and dony know how to respond and need to drop it.

• How often would you prefer a roleplay partner to respond?

Once a week at least. If they gtg for some reason they can come back anytime to pick up where we left off.

• How long are your replies?

Can be around 1 to 3 paragraphs.

• Which genre do you prefer? Why?

Fantasy is amazing, because you can basically make up and do anything. I also live for hurt comfort. I love having my characters seek out hugs and comfort and understanding. I think its because I need it as well.

• What is something that you'd like to improve on in your writing?

I want to ve able to write longer replies. My rp partners deserve it.

• Don't mention any names. Describe a memorable roleplay that you didn't enjoy. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?

An RP I didnt enjoy....well. I dont have many examples but there was one where my character was forcibly imprissioned and couldnt escape cause the other persons character was OP. It wasnt fun.

• Don't mention any names if you don't want to. Describe a memorable roleplay that you thoroughly enjoyed. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?

Aaaaaaah. I was 15. I had a friend in school. On google docs we did a MxM rp. We only got a few replies in. It was my first ever rp. The character had so much depth and relatability. I learned a lot.

• How important is a character profile? What catches your eye?

Id say good visuals and focus on a characters persobality.

• What platform do you prefer?

RPR lol.

• What's your greatest strength as a roleplayer?

I dont know...

CHARACTER

• Do you more often than not roleplay original characters, fan character or canon characters? Why do you prefer one over the other?

Original only. I cant play canon characters well. I love making stuff up.

• Which is your oldest character still in use?

Yuan.

• Is character art important? What do you think of people lifting a drawing from Google or Deviantart?

Yeah it is. As for lifting a picture. If you have permission its fine. Im guilty of doing it as well, and recently learned its not a good practice. Try not to do it if posssible.

• Which is your favorite character to roleplay as, and why?

I love using Lux. I enjoy his backstory, persobality and just everything.

• How do you treat NPC's? Are they important to plot and and setting and main characters, or are they just filler?

It depends. Honestly I try to give them a mini backstory and a bit of personality. In fact, Hex and Jamie used to be NPCs....then I got attached.

• What are your guilty pleasures when creating a character?

Making my men feminine. Idk if its because Im a girl or what but its easier to play girly guys.

• Do you have more males or females in your character list? Why is that?

Males. I prefer playing as them. More comfortable. Also, I love MxM rp. Lol.

• How do you normally title your roleplays, and why?
i’m honestly terrible with titles. normally i just pick something simple that’s significant to the story somehow and go with it.

• Do you more often than not roleplay in group than 1x1?
pretty much exclusively 1x1.

• How often do you respond?
i’m all over the place. it could be anywhere from multiple times a day to once a month.

• How often would you prefer a roleplay partner to respond?
i honestly don’t really mind, as long as they tell me when they want to drop a roleplay or when they’re going to take longer to respond than unusual.

• How long are your replies?
when i start writing i can’t shut up. i’d guess and say most of my replies are around 6-ish paragraphs, and my starters are longer.

• Which genre do you prefer? Why?
horror’s always been my comfort zone, for some reason. idk, i guess i’ve just always been interested in creepy stuff and whatnot. surreal horror is especially interesting to me because i think anything beyond comprehension and understanding is how to really scare people.

• What is something that you'd like to improve on in your writing?
definitely being more clear and also working on my grammar

• Don't mention any names. Describe a memorable roleplay that you didn't enjoy. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?
i...honestly don’t have any bad roleplaying experiences? i had one with some god modding, but that’s about it.

• Don't mention any names if you don't want to. Describe a memorable roleplay that you thoroughly enjoyed. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?
there’s a roleplay i started last year with my friend and we’ve put tons of thought into the universe and how it all works, and we’ve even created several brand new characters just for that roleplay (and one of the ones i made ended up becoming probably somewhere within my top 5 favorite OCs to write.) we’ve also worked out several different complex relationships and plot lines that makes it really fun to write out and even just talk about.

• How important is a character profile? What catches your eye?
not important, but i’m a huge bit of an aesthete, so i always love it when a profile looks nice.

• What platform do you prefer?
here or discord

• What's your greatest strength as a roleplayer?
i always worry about my characters coming off as flat or poorly-written, but even if they do, i put a ton of thought into all of them and sometimes i understand them so well that i literally, actually feel their emotions with them when i’m writing them.

CHARACTER

• Do you more often than not roleplay original characters, fan character or canon characters? Why do you prefer one over the other?
original characters. i don’t think i’m into anything enough to make fan characters or roleplay canon characters.

• Which is your oldest character still in use?
amelia

• Is character art important? What do you think of people lifting a drawing from Google or Deviantart?
i wouldn’t say it’s too important and i’m fine with the latter as long as the artist is aware and okay with people using their art

• Which is your favorite character to roleplay as, and why?
AAAAAAAAAAA this question makes my head spin. i get really focused on certain characters for awhile, and when i’m focused on them, basically all of my writing is centered on developing them/roleplaying as them. so i guess whatever character i’m focusing on at that time could be considered my favorite. avery/damian/sad boy means the world 2 me tho

• How do you treat NPC's? Are they important to plot and and setting and main characters, or are they just filler?
i guess it all depends on the plot, really.

• What are your guilty pleasures when creating a character?
a n g s t

• Do you have more males or females in your character list? Why is that?
most of my characters are gay/bi/pan cis dudes and it’s probably because i’m a gay pre-everything trans man and it’s a way for me to deal with my dysphoria and whatnot.
1 How do you normally title your roleplays, and why?

I try to include something about what it's about so others will know what to expect.

2 Do you more often than not roleplay in group than 1x1?

I mostly do 1x1 RPs via PMs. I find it easier to keep track of than forum RPs or group RPs. My first RP was with two other people which later grew to four people with others coming and going as the story went on. It was through a MUCK client and the RP setting was strictly controled by mods and it was all based on a book series. It was great RPing in the group but if only two of us were on or only one of us was it was harder to come up with posts without the others involved.
How often do you respond?

3 How often would you prefer a roleplay partner to respond?

A least once a week is fine with me. Multiple times a day is great if both people can do it but I know that those days are behind me and most people don't have that kind of free time.

4 How long are your replies?

It varies but I can usually manage a few sentences if I'm uninspired or unwell IRL but usuually if I'm into the plot 3 - 4 paragraphs is not unusual for me. I don't aim for a set number for paragraphs I just write what I want. And I don't expect others to match my output - though I find replying to one liners to be difficult so I try to find others that can reliably give a few detailed sentences back after I hit them in the eyeballs with a wall of text.

5 Which genre do you prefer? Why?

I'm okay with medieval settings as that's what I started with. I like fantasy fine as well. There's a lot of freedom to do whatever when magic is involved. I'm not up on tech stuff and I don't read a lot of sci-fi stuff and find myself very lost in that sort of setting.

6 What is something that you'd like to improve on in your writing?

Maybe having dialouge between multiple characters, controlled by me, flow more naturally and for talking not to take up so much of my posts so the story can move faster. I dunno.

7 Don't mention any names. Describe a memorable roleplay that you didn't enjoy. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?

I don't remember what the RP was meant to be about, who it was with or what site it was now as this was years ago.
I do remember they replied only in very short posts that often weren't full sentences. The RP did not last long as I couldn't come up with much to reply to posts for example as 'character name smiles' without a period or 'sits'. I think whoever it was was used to a different format of RPing that I was not and that type of RPing did not work out. I was in my twenties (I was 24 I first began RPing - I was aware of it as a teen but back then I had no interest in it didn't know why so many people spent so much time doing it in chat rooms).

8 Don't mention any names if you don't want to. Describe a memorable roleplay that you thoroughly enjoyed. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?

I was 24 not yet 25. I RPed for the first time on Redwall MUCK (which far as I know is still running). It was all text no images no profiles really just a character description which could be made longer if you went to the trouble to learn a certain type of coding thing which wasn't taught in game. I learned it and used it always so my characters could always have their stuff depending on the situation (the code let you save lines of text and call them by name as your description and it would show all the lines of text all nice if you did it right. So my blind sassy rat lady could have different outfits with detailed text description that I could change as I pleased.)

Most of my early RPs with the group I helped form on there I drew art of. The most memorable would have to be when my orphaned rat boy (rats are normally evil in the RP setting but our group never followed the rules super close - and we already had a not evil fox hero and the books did suggest good rats were possible if rare.) So my not evil rat orphan kid such a mary-sue the Orph rat was began his saga by adopting an old tough-as-nails sea otter as his father and the rest is well documented as most RPs on that site were posted for all to read and enjoy each others adventures.

Orph went from bratty nine year old orphan boy always getting into trouble to an one-eyed fat middle aged business owner with an abrasive blind wife (same as above) and said Orph rat now called Will was last seen spending way too much time at the local tavern and not at his pottery shop where he ought to be. As I haven't played him there in about 6 years I suspect he may be dead. His daughter Wilco or Koby was maybe 13 last I bothered with her and I assume if she were still around she'd be a pirate or something by now and have become more canonically evil like as rats in that setting are more usually. (I played Will his wife Ame and their daughter Koby which is why I use their names.)

9 How important is a character profile? What catches your eye?

Character profiles to me are very important is gives me a place to dump all the stuff I make up about all my characters.

And they often give me a good idea about a character I may be RPing with or be interested in RPing with.

10 What platform do you prefer?

Currently all my RP takes place via PMs here on RPR. I have RPed in Furcadia in the past and might join a group of friends for D&D soon to try it out.

11 What's your greatest strength as a roleplayer?

I have no idea. Everyone likes different things. I suppose being able to write a few paragraphs per reply most of the time could be seen a good thing to some people (not everyone likes it, but I find it hard keeping my replies short).

I've always been good at reading and writing though my grammar could be better and my handwriting is awful.

CHARACTER

12 Do you more often than not roleplay original characters, fan character or canon characters? Why do you prefer one over the other?

I play original characters. I can't wrap my brain around RPing a canon character. I don't feel as if I know the character well enough to keep them in character. Besides I have so many characters of my own so I don't see a reason to use someone else's. I have made fan characters but I have never RPed them.

13 Which is your oldest character still in use?

No idea. On here either Isabel or Kikuto though I haven't used either in ages. Kikuto had her start on Furcadia and I learned about RPR though that game because so many players had a link to their RPR profiles in their character descriptions to get around the character limit. Isabel was my poor attempt to find in on a fan forum years ago as most of the 'cool kids' there had an avatar character they'd RP with in the OOC section. Isabel was originally a cow and as i could not draw a cow well I changed her to a snake because I can draw one of those.

14 Is character art important? What do you think of people lifting a drawing from Google or Deviantart?

As someone who's old pile of drawings is 1/4 - 1/2 made up of drawings based on scenes from RPs I'd say yes, at least to me character art is important, but I draw.

If a person has permission to use someone's art like say a friend drew their character for them that's fine. If they have the okay to use someone's art to represent their character (without it being any given character to start with) that's fine too. Stealing someone's art is not good. I doubt people here do that though. I do find it a bit creepy when people use photos of real people as their character's image. I understand that they are free to do that I just don't prefer it.

I know not everyone can make their own art or hire someone to make them art and that's fine. But if I had a choice between writing out a description or using art that wasn't mine I'd write the description out and go without an image.

15 Which is your favorite character to roleplay as, and why?

Right now Fairyland is but that's more to do with the long running RP I'm in.

16 How do you treat NPC's? Are they important to plot and and setting and main characters, or are they just filler?

I don't know when I last had a RP that had actual NPCs. All the NPCs I make for my RPs end up feeling like real characters even if they're not main characters. I don't really have NPCs in my RPs (that I lead) so much as I have side characters and background characters - if asked I could tell you their life's history in many cases because my brain just won't leave things alone.

17 What are your guilty pleasures when creating a character?

I don't know. With my first character it started with playing a typically evil species for the setting as good and after that stopped being unique I just did awful things to him for my amusement. Boy was orphaned twice before the RP started. He got in a fight with his otter dad (who was played so awesomely and the otter died IC off screen during a timeskip because none of us in the group had any free time at the same time for a long while and his player had been planing to have the otter die eventually anyway as the game strongly encourages players to age their characters an year worth of aging every 3 RL months as the characters being animals age a year's worth every season which is about 3 months and they age in real time more or less. Some players ignore this mechanic, but most follow it). So Orph got in a fight with ex-warrior otter dad and got his arm yanked out of it's socket - ah father son bonding so sweet. This was fairly normal for the odd little family in the G rated setting. Later I was bored so Orph just happened to jump off a cliff while escaping some NPCs baddies and broke his arm from the fall and his girlfriend broke both her legs and was in a wheeled-chair for months of RL time per the game's rules. Note I played both these characters.

I have no idea if any of that answers the question. I usually don't go out of my way to make my characters suffer like that now. Orph was special.

18 Do you have more males or females in your character list? Why is that?

I have too many of both to do a full head count. I'd say it's fairly even depending on what counts as a separate character.

Going by profiles that have a male character as the only character or main character vs females and ignoring those that don't fit probably more males than females. About 8 dudes vs 4-ish girls.
• How do you normally title your roleplays, and why?
"character x character" because that way it's easiest for me to remember what's going on, just by looking at name of the characters

• Do you more often than not roleplay in group than 1x1?
I only roleplay 1x1. I haven't had any good experiences with roleplaying in groups, which keeps me from trying it again

• How often do you respond?
On days where I have much time, it can be up to around 5 - 6 times. Usually, I try to reply once every day or every other day, if I'm busy

• How often would you prefer a roleplay partner to respond?
A couple times a week would be great!

• How long are your replies?
That depends a lot on my partners length of their replies and what's going on in the roleplay. If my partner writes 3 paragraphs, I'll strive to do the same

• Which genre do you prefer? Why?
Romance! I feel like it's the genre that's easiest for me to get in-depth with and it motivates me to write as I find it very interesting

• What is something that you'd like to improve on in your writing?
How my character feels - after sending my reply and reading it through, I always feel like I spot places where I could have gotten more into depth with how my character feels

• Don't mention any names. Describe a memorable roleplay that you didn't enjoy. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?
It was on here and I think it has been a year since, give or take some months. At first, I really enjoyed it but it lost it's spark for me because I had to wait so long for my partner to reply and they never told me if they went on hiatus or anything. I remember it because I feel like I had put a lot of effort into trying to make it work and I really liked how their character worked with mine

• Don't mention any names if you don't want to. Describe a memorable roleplay that you thoroughly enjoyed. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?
It didn't last for very long because my partner sadly disappeared out of nowhere. I still hope they will return to the site, but I think it's about a year ago. I remember it because I absolutely adored the detail and thought my partner had put into their writing

• How important is a character profile? What catches your eye?
A nice profile picture of a realistic person! I don't need a full story of their childhood, but I like a description so I can create a picture of the character and how they are

• What platform do you prefer?
RPR - I haven't really found any other platforms to roleplay on, because the ones I was recommended seemed far too confusing for me

• What's your greatest strength as a roleplayer?
My grammar, I think. English isn't my native or first language, but I always try to correct any spelling errors or mistakes I see

CHARACTER

• Do you more often than not roleplay original characters, fan character or canon characters? Why do you prefer one over the other?
All of my characters are original - I'm not too fond about playing fan characters and such, because it's not as easy for me to imagine what the person would think and do

• Which is your oldest character still in use?
Bluebell

• Is character art important? What do you think of people lifting a drawing from Google or Deviantart?
I think it's cool if people take the time to make character art of their own characters. If they use a pictue of some character art that they haven't created themselves, they should give credit to the artist

• Which is your favorite character to roleplay as, and why?
I think it would have to be Bluebell because she's my oldest character, so I know her the best and I'm not very good at stepping outside of my comfort-zone

• How do you treat NPC's? Are they important to plot and and setting and main characters, or are they just filler?
I don't think I've ever had a roleplay with any NPC'S

• What are your guilty pleasures when creating a character?
I love doing small details, like where they were born, their birth date, occupation and so on

• Do you have more males or females in your character list? Why is that?
I have more males because I feel like it's easier to roleplay as females, so when I play a male, I like to have a small variety to choose from
OOC

• How do you normally title your roleplays, and why?

I try to think of a proper title that generally relates to the plot to make it more memorable. If I can't come up with one I default to the names of the characters involved like "A+B RP"

• Do you more often than not roleplay in group than 1x1?
I'd rather do 1x1, it's more private. I've RP'd in groups in the past but that was so long ago that I don't remember what it was like, but I'm fairly certain groups have issues where some people post more than others. I've lead a group RP before and set a rule to post in turns and only one (very impatient, troll-ish) person complained. This was through chat and not a forum so results may vary lol.

• How often do you respond?
Uh... A few times a day if an RP really captures my attention, otherwise once or every few days, if the wait is weeks long then real life has claimed me...

• How often would you prefer a roleplay partner to respond?
The same rate as me, I suppose?

• How long are your replies?
I prefer (and naturally) come up with a few paragraphs and find it restrictive to type any less.

• Which genre do you prefer? Why?
I dunno, anything goes. I don't like categorising in genres because the RP always has the chance to veer into different territory from how it's planned out. I prefer settings with magical/supernatural elements, usually in worlds that aren't like real life.

• What is something that you'd like to improve on in your writing?

Hmm, writing a little bit each day consistently. My ability to write (or produce anything really) comes and goes in huge spikes, it sucks. When it comes to actual writing, I dunno, I think I could be better at characterization, specifically tackling characters who are very unlike myself.

• Don't mention any names. Describe a memorable roleplay that you didn't enjoy. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?

That I didn't enjoy? I can't remember what platform it was, but it was a chat and the roleplay was hampered by specific members who were much younger than the rest of us/some personal drama between friend groups and the favouritism that arose from that. The roleplay sucked, it was like a tour of certain people's personal fantasies, which is what I consider to be a 'selfish' roleplayer, and it made everything bloody boring.

• Don't mention any names if you don't want to. Describe a memorable roleplay that you thoroughly enjoyed. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?

Uhhh well there's one RP I really like that I'm involved in right now except I haven't been able to reply for like a month T_T and I'm super glad I've fallen into it. Gives me hope that I'll find more fun roleplays.
Another RP I recall was from years ago, involving a group trying to escape from an asylum. I vividly remember specific details about it because it was that fun. I was probably like 14 at the time. Everybody got along OOC so IC there was no silly drama to deal with so we could focus on the story we all crafted together.

• How important is a character profile? What catches your eye?

Moderately important. I've seen some characters who were perfectly put together despite no profile at all, but looking at a nice clean profile is something of a past time for me, heh. A good description that doesn't bare it all will entice me to RP with the character to find out more. Having character art isn't so important.

• What platform do you prefer?

I only roleplay here now.

• What's your greatest strength as a roleplayer?
My descriptions I guess? When I get into the flow, characterization is really easy.

CHARACTER

• Do you more often than not roleplay original characters, fan character or canon characters? Why do you prefer one over the other?

I only roleplay OCs. I don't think I could do a canon character justice and I'd be tempted to make them do things I want that don't necessarily fit their role.

• Which is your oldest character still in use?
My character Cassiel has been floating around in my head since 2013-ish but that's not 'old' to me compared to some retired OCs I don't use anymore.

• Is character art important? What do you think of people lifting a drawing from Google or Deviantart?
I don't mind people using art of a character that isn't their own if they say so clearly and specifically credit whoever the artist was. It doesn't really bother me if it's just a picture of a specific shirt that's clearly taken from an image search though.

• Which is your favorite character to roleplay as, and why?

Uhh... I don't have one. Each of them have their own 'thing' that's fun to roleplay and I only have a handful of roleplayable characters anyway so I can't pick a fave XD

• How do you treat NPC's? Are they important to plot and and setting and main characters, or are they just filler?

I...think of an 'NPC' in roleplay to be any character that's not the main. So, the role of an NPC can vary wildly from random bartender to a reoccuring foil imo, I'd say their importance depends on how often they need to show up. I like to think all NPCs are potential main characters themselves so I do try to remember little details about them to keep them consistent.

• What are your guilty pleasures when creating a character?
Ambigious past events and details left up to interpretation for the sake of possible mysteries (but I always create an 'actual truth' for when the topic is breached). Tragic flaws and (potentially) unhealthy relationships. Backgrounds that leave the character able to travel and be a wanderer so that they're not bound by home or family.

• Do you have more males or females in your character list? Why is that?
More males, I just like roleplaying as guys more.

• BONUS!
Send your favorite roleplay partner a message and tell them how great they are.
I suppose I'll tell them *again* then :P
OOC

• How do you normally title your roleplays, and why?
I usually try to make it something cute/clever regarding the plot or the two characters. IE, a current RP I have going that took place in Egypt is called The Desert Heat (though I can't remember if I came up with that or my partner did!)

• Do you more often than not roleplay in group than 1x1?
Due to my schedule nowadays, I never RP in groups - I stick solely to 1x1s, so that if I suddenly get busy, I'm not holding up multiple people. One person is much more understanding than several!

• How often do you respond?
It really varies on my schedule and my muse. Sometimes I'll respond multiple times in a day, other times I'll take a day or a few days.

• How often would you prefer a roleplay partner to respond?
Generally, if it's been a week and I haven't gotten a response, I'll give them a gentle nudge and check to make sure everything's alright. This is only if they're usually responding sooner and for some reason suddenly change their response time. Just to make sure they're okay :)

• How long are your replies?
4+ lines, always! It depends on how much my muse is responding to the RP at the moment, but it's always at least four lines.

• Which genre do you prefer? Why?
My classic favorite is medieval fantasy, because there's just so much you can do with it! But I enjoy most genres, especially modern scifi (ie X-Men type).

• What is something that you'd like to improve on in your writing?
Descriptions! I get so caught up in what's going on that I'm horrible at describing things.

• Don't mention any names. Describe a memorable roleplay that you didn't enjoy. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?
Yeeears ago, I was playing on Furcadia. My character was in a relationship with someone else's, but I didn't want to RP them having sex. My RP partner did. Keep in mind, I'm pretty certain I was underage, I had to be like sixteen or seventeen, not that I knew about laws regarding minors then. But I continued to refuse, and he called me a very nasty, hurtful name because of it and completely stopped RPing with me. It was not fun.

• Don't mention any names if you don't want to. Describe a memorable roleplay that you thoroughly enjoyed. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?
Oh man, where do I begin?? I have had so many memorable RPs, both here and on Furcadia. I had a super enjoyable RP with FoxintheBox; the character interaction was awesome. It was my half-vampire dhampir and her werewolf boi, and it was just fantastic. The characters interacted so well together, the plot twists were great, and Fox's posts were awesome.
I have had so many good RPs, that's just one that popped up to mind!

• How important is a character profile? What catches your eye?
It doesn't have to have an entire huge backstory to it, but a character profile is pretty important to me because it has to give me at least SOME knowledge about what the character is like, otherwise I won't know if I'll enjoy interacting with that character. Things that catch my eye are images, or little quirks that show the character has been thought out.

• What platform do you prefer?
RPR PM. I do all my RP through RPR and PM. I love the chat feature to pieces, for the rare times when I can respond right away!

• What's your greatest strength as a roleplayer?
Freaking plot twists, man. I'm so good at suddenly coming up with an awesome plot twist that really livens up the RP. Also...romance. Because it's my favorite and I'm such a hopeless romantic lol.

CHARACTER

• Do you more often than not roleplay original characters, fan character or canon characters? Why do you prefer one over the other?
I always roleplay original characters. I have created OCs for canon settings before, like my own X-Men character for that type of world, but I've never actually played a fan/canon character (except like once). I like the freedom of being able to do whatever I want and not having to stick to a preconceived set of rules or pattern of behavior.

• Which is your oldest character still in use?
Still in use? Geez. I have characters on RPR but I don't have any active RPs going with them. Rebb and Anokhi are fairly old, and Tressa has had a decent time under her (but not as long as the other two). I don't play her anymore because I'm not on the platform, but my character Opal was one of my first characters on Furcadia. I played her for a long time, but about two or three years ago I stopped playing Furcadia because life got real.

• Is character art important? What do you think of people lifting a drawing from Google or Deviantart?
I think character art is important, but it's not critical. I'm not too judgmental of people lifting drawings because I did that in the past, but now that I know it's wrong, I always try to point that out to people and help them find legal alternatives that aren't art theft. Nowadays if I don't have my own art, I use dolldivine.com to help me create images that can at least help get the idea of my character across.

• Which is your favorite character to roleplay as, and why?
This is #theimpossiblequestion, but I am always in the mood to play as Naeris. She's so near and dear to my heart, and I really enjoy playing as her. She's strong and tough because she has to be a leader, but she's also loving, kind, and gentle. I love her backstory and all the development she's had. One day I'm hoping to cosplay as her!

• How do you treat NPC's? Are they important to plot and and setting and main characters, or are they just filler?
Some NPCs are more important than others. I just had a recent RP where an NPC came into play and acted as sort of a subtle guide to bring our two characters back together after they were separated. At first I was worried that maybe my partner had gotten bored of their main character, but when the NPC ended up bringing my character back to him, I was really appreciate of how my partner made that happen!

• What are your guilty pleasures when creating a character?
Tragic backstories. I'm so sorry, I know it's so cliche, but I love when I have a character that has some tragic part of their past.

• Do you have more males or females in your character list? Why is that?
Females! I have a few males, but because my favorite thing to include in RP is romance, I prefer female characters more.

Killing time before work.

OOC

• How do you normally title your roleplays, and why?
Arbitrarily; just a buzzword from the roleplay, unless someone has a better idea.

• Do you more often than not roleplay in group than 1x1?
I used to hate 1x1 roleplays but now they're all I do lmao

• How often do you respond?
Nowadays, about once a week, if that.

• How often would you prefer a roleplay partner to respond?
I'd be a hypocrite if I had a preference.

• How long are your replies?
Upwards of a few paragraphs.

• Which genre do you prefer? Why?
I prefer sci-fi, horror, or post-apoc. I'm burned out on fantasy, but I like any genre as long as the plot is intriguing.

• What is something that you'd like to improve on in your writing?
A while ago I started trying to focus more on actions rather than internal character monologue.

• Don't mention any names. Describe a memorable roleplay that you didn't enjoy. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?
Any forum roleplays from the 2009 era, because I was a tween GM trying to shepherd other tweens and it was overall chaos. We didn't have a good grasp of roleplays rules and courtesies.

• Don't mention any names if you don't want to. Describe a memorable roleplay that you thoroughly enjoyed. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?
Any of the roleplays I've participated in since joining RPR have been stellar.

• How important is a character profile? What catches your eye?
As long as a character is fleshed out I don't really care how their bio looks. Although it's fun to browse nicely formatted profiles lmao

• What platform do you prefer?
I miss tabletops.

• What's your greatest strength as a roleplayer?
Idk. I don't give up, I guess.

CHARACTER

• Do you more often than not roleplay original characters, fan character or canon characters? Why do you prefer one over the other?
Original, because I'm not deeply entrenched in any fandoms and because I don't think I could do someone else's character justice.

• Which is your oldest character still in use?
Jin, although he doesn't have a bio here.

• Is character art important? What do you think of people lifting a drawing from Google or Deviantart?
Character art is nice! I used to commission people all the time. I don't condone art theft, though.

• Which is your favorite character to roleplay as, and why?
Tbh I don't have a favourite. The less-used an OC is the more I want to write with them, though.

• How do you treat NPC's? Are they important to plot and and setting and main characters, or are they just filler?
I usually end up controlling the NPCs so I like to have fun with it by making them interact, have their own distinguishing traits, etc.

• What are your guilty pleasures when creating a character?
I noticed I have a lot of mercenaries.

• Do you have more males or females in your character list? Why is that?
Right now it's about even, although if I look at my character roster overall there tends to be more males. It doesn't have to do with personal preference. I get asked to make male characters so it just ended up that way.
OOC

How do you normally title your roleplays, and why? I usually try to just title them something relevant to the RP plot and then [character x character]. Nothing fancy lol

Do you more often than not roleplay in group than 1x1? 1x1, groups make me nervous and I get confused easy

How often do you respond? Depends on how much of a roll I'm on. Sometimes I can respond multiple times a day, but if I'm in a rut (like now) I can respond anywhere from once a week to once every few months :/

How often would you prefer a roleplay partner to respond? Once a week, but considering how flaky I can be, as long as they give me some notice for the fact that they'll be absent a lot / reply slower than once a week, I'm fine.

How long are your replies? Usually a few small paragraphs.

Which genre do you prefer? Why? Romance -- Fantasy / Sci-Fi

What is something that you'd like to improve on in your writing? Just... my writing in general tbh. I guess fight scenes are something I need to work on, I'm bad at those.

Don't mention any names. Describe a memorable roleplay that you didn't enjoy. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable? The only real RPs that come to mind are with my ex. Some of those were just... absolutely cringe worthy lmao

Don't mention any names if you don't want to. Describe a memorable roleplay that you thoroughly enjoyed. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable? Dndmama and Damnationfromafar have been absolutely amazing in their RPs, and super kind, patient, and understanding with my lack of replies as of late. Their RPs have been super fun and I love how cheesy they can get in the romance department, it's so cute ;A;

How important is a character profile? What catches your eye? Very. If a profile is blank, I'm highly unlikely to accept an RP offer / ask for RP. I don't need it to be huge paragraphs of information, but an effort to make it look aesthetically pleasing goes a long way.

What platform do you prefer? Discord or here. I used to use tumblr too, but I don't get many bites there anymore.

What's your greatest strength as a roleplayer? Um... I think my dialogue. You'd have to ask my partners, but I feel like I'm able to make my characters talk without making them sound like they're just outright reading a college essay, lol

CHARACTER

Do you more often than not roleplay original characters, fan character or canon characters? Why do you prefer one over the other? Fan characters, Original Characters, Canon characters - in that order from greatest to least likely.

Which is your oldest character still in use? Crow (and his two sisters not on RPR) by far. I've had them since.... eighth grade? A long time now lol

Is character art important? What do you think of people lifting a drawing from Google or Deviantart? Character art is ideal but certainly not required. <3 I have... kind of a grey area when it comes to lifting images; I've done it myself, but as an artist, if a person lift an image and simply says "Credit to the artist <3" without actually naming them, it really rubs me the wrong way; Get some credit people! Do a reverse google search!!!

Which is your favorite character to roleplay as, and why? Probably Crow. He's just my big ol' teddy bear and I love him. <3

How do you treat NPC's? Are they important to plot and and setting and main characters, or are they just filler? Meh, I tend not to put too much stock into NPC's or characters that won't be around long. I just sort of write them and then let it go.

What are your guilty pleasures when creating a character? Making them super sad with awful backstories, Making them really OP, and creating them almost purely with NSFW content in mind lmao

Do you have more males or females in your character list? Why is that? Females; As a younger teenager, all I could draw was women, and to an extent I still can't now, but that kept me from making male characters earlier on, simply because I couldn't draw them. Now it's slowly evening out, but I do love me some badass ladies, so it's easier to create them, lol
Ohhh I love surveys...

OOC

• How do you normally title your roleplays, and why?

Usually just character x character.

• Do you more often than not roleplay in group than 1x1?

I usually only rp 1x1.

• How often do you respond?

Twice a day (or more) or once every 2 days usually, but when things get really busy once every week at least.

• How often would you prefer a roleplay partner to respond?

I love when people reply everyday, but once every couple days usually is enough for me.

• How long are your replies?

No shorter than 2 paragraphs, but usually about three or four, occasionally five.

• Which genre do you prefer? Why?

Modern Romance, because I am obsessed with drama, and fluff, and conflict.

• What is something that you'd like to improve on in your writing?

Learning more words to describe things.

• Don't mention any names. Describe a memorable roleplay that you didn't enjoy. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?

There was a roleplay where the other character was obsessed with trying to bang my character and would turn anything into a way to do that, and almost hurt her. I was 20.

• Don't mention any names if you don't want to. Describe a memorable roleplay that you thoroughly enjoyed. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?

Ugh that's difficult. I'd have to say a memorable RP that I enjoyed would be one that was about my spy character ending up running into and old childhood friend of hers and he was part of an opposing agency. I found it very entertaining. I was 19.

• How important is a character profile? What catches your eye?

Very important, I usually only RP with characters that have face claims, and have most of their profile filled out in a bit of detail, the more detail the better it is with me.

• What platform do you prefer?

RPR PM.

• What's your greatest strength as a roleplayer?

Creativity. I think so anyway. I always have ideas, and am constantly "bugging" my partners with new ideas and conflicts haha.

CHARACTER

• Do you more often than not roleplay original characters, fan character or canon characters? Why do you prefer one over the other?

I roleplay original characters, and prefer them. I just have a lot more fun with my own characters.

• Which is your oldest character still in use?

My oldest character or the one I've had the longest is Frankie. I don't have an RP with atm, but she's still in use.

• Is character art important? What do you think of people lifting a drawing from Google or Deviantart?
I prefer people using, and me using face claims of actors/models as opposed to drawn art, but I think as long as permission is given, and a site is given for where they got it, it's fine to use art.

• Which is your favorite character to roleplay as, and why?

I can't really chose but I am enjoying rping as Dawn right now.

• How do you treat NPC's? Are they important to plot and and setting and main characters, or are they just filler?

It's a mix. Some of them are important to the plot, and others are just filler. It's usually a good healthy balance between the two.

• What are your guilty pleasures when creating a character?

A lot of my characters are female and they are almost always short and chubby/curvy. I rarely make very thin or tall characters. I also have an affinity for making redheads.

• Do you have more males or females in your character list? Why is that?

Female. I tend to have an easier time writing female characters, and creating them, and finding face claims, I way more picky about male characters.
• How do you normally title your roleplays, and why?

I have a tendency to get fancy with my rp names. I like to make them unique enough not to get mixed up but also relevant to the proposed plot and just nice to read. Everything should be nice to read, even if it's just the title. Especially if you spend an inordinate amount of time staring at it while hoping your partner responds soon.

• Do you more often than not roleplay in group than 1x1?

I don't have a huge preference. Where ever I can get a good story going. Seems to be easier in 1x1 just since there aren't as many egos and schedules and lives to cause delay but a good group can be a ton of fun. Power of Souls shout out!

• How often do you respond?

Depends. I prefer to respond at least once a day. Multiple times a day if I can. It can sometimes be down to once a week though depending on the rp, my inspiration and what is going on in my life.

• How often would you prefer a roleplay partner to respond?

NEVER NOT RESPONDING! No, but seriously, I tend to prefer once a day or once every couple of days, but that's just preference. If we get a good thing going I'm never going to turn someone away just because their responses slow or stop temporarily.

• How long are your replies?

I tend to match my partner in response length. If you give me a bunch of paragraphs, I'll give you a bunch back. If you only give me one, unless I have something big to describe, you'll usually get one or two back. On average I'd say my responses are usually three paragraphs in length.

• Which genre do you prefer? Why?

Fantasy! I love magic and magical creatures and crazy races and meddling gods and world building. I know you can get all that in Sci Fi (which I also enjoy to a somewhat lesser extent) but there's simply something inherently romantic about Fantasy (no matter the time frame, i.e. Modern Fantasy, High Fantasy, Sci Fi Fantasy) and magic and gods that speaks to my soul.

• What is something that you'd like to improve on in your writing?

My biggest downfall in writing (to my knowledge, my partners may say otherwise) is my tendency to switch tenses without warning. It's unconscious and I'm constantly having to go back and reread my posts before I commit to them just to make sure I haven't screwed up my tenses yet again. It's exhausting sometimes. I wish I could just pick one and write in it without having to constantly worry!

• Don't mention any names. Describe a memorable roleplay that you didn't enjoy. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?

I'd say the roleplay I did that had me most frustrated was a Pathfinder/Dragonstar mash up that my old gaming group ran (and I think is still running? Maybe?). It was a great campaign but I simply could not find a character I liked. I started as a human sorcerer/spy...thing but her personality conflicted with the leader's (character personalities, not player personalities). So she died legitimately in game and I was fine with that. Then the gm offers to clone her so I can make a new character. Sure! So now I'm playing a clone and I think it would be fun to have her start off super inexperienced with only the knowledge they implant in her head, but I can't seem to get her to 'grow.' She seems determined to stay a child and even though she has the best build I've ever done in my life, I just can't get her to work. Finally I just had to give up and make yet another character. It was so so so so frustrating but I had no one but myself to blame. They were my characters after all. Fun fact, the final character I made for that campaign was Inova.

• Don't mention any names if you don't want to. Describe a memorable roleplay that you thoroughly enjoyed. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?

The answers to that question are so many and so long I'd be here all week typing it out. Suffice it to say that I treasure the past moments of awesomeness and look forward towards many more to come.

• How important is a character profile? What catches your eye?

A character profile is nice, but not essential. I've got a couple of rps going with characters that don't have any profiles at all. They can be fun to read but in the end as long as the person on the other end knows the character, that's all that matters. Besides, I myself love creating characters and doing it while we're actually roleplaying really helps me flesh them out, so I'm not one to judge if you do the same or simply don't have the time or what have you.

• What platform do you prefer?

Whatever I can get. Rpr forum, group, pm, Discord is fine. I've even done Skype messaging and Steam pm in the past. Just gotta get that fix!

• What's your greatest strength as a roleplayer?

Oooh. This is another one that would be better to ask my partners, but I guess, in my opinion my greatest strength is being able to quickly put together believable and complex characters. This is super useful when starting an rp that I don't have a character for yet but it's actually really good for creating relatable npcs mid story. I think good npcs can really help a world feel more immersive, even in simple one on one storytelling.

CHARACTER

• Do you more often than not roleplay original characters, fan character or canon characters? Why do you prefer one over the other?

I'm pretty much all OC's over here. I'll rp in fandom worlds no problem but I won't ever rp an existing character in that world in the same way I wouldn't ever rp as one of my writing partner's characters. Those belong to them (or the original author) and that feels like stealing or appropriation to me.

• Which is your oldest character still in use?

Deville is probably my oldest character still in an active rp. She started as my main in World of Warcraft where I was first introduced to online roleplay. Before that I'd only done pen and paper face to face type games, none of which are still going nor have I reused any of those older characters. She became a real part of my identity and I think she'll always be with me, no matter how I or my rps change and grow.

• Is character art important? What do you think of people lifting a drawing from Google or Deviantart?

Character art is in the same category as character profiles for me. It's nice to have if you can get it but not necessary as long as you can adequately describe your character while writing. As far as lifting art from google or Deviantart, I absolutely prefer seeing artists credited but I'm not the art police. I've paid artists for character art before (*cough*DarkCrowisamazing*cough*), but not everyone has the finances to do that.

• Which is your favorite character to roleplay as, and why?

Uf. You really know how to ask the hard questions, don't you? Honestly, I think it has to be Neriah here. She's just such a witch with a capital B until you get past that thick skin. She's playful and loyal and good and sexy and sarcastic and thoughtful. She has so many layers and facets. She's just a joy to bring to life.

• How do you treat NPC's? Are they important to plot and and setting and main characters, or are they just filler?

It depends on the rp, but in general I like to treat even the briefest of character cameos as if they are people with lives and opinions and personalities. Sometimes they are just passing through but if you treat them as a part of the world at large it's much easier to use them as such later on down the line. Or just help make the world feel richer.

• What are your guilty pleasures when creating a character?

I think my guilty pleasure is just making the characters at all. All the characters. I'm not using even half the ones I have on this site but I made them and I will probably make more. I will never stop. GIVE ME ALL THE CHARACTERS!!

• Do you have more males or females in your character list? Why is that?

Definitely females, seeing as I only have the one male. Honestly, I just struggle putting myself in a man's shoes I think. I'm trying to branch out a bit, using Aaron as a sort of guinea pig to widen my perspective but for now I'm just much more comfortable writing women.

I...I have to choose? T.T How could you ask me to do such a thing? I love them all!
OOC

• How do you normally title your roleplays, and why?

I title my rp in ways that suggest what the main point might be. Such as one of my favorite rps. Through Hell with Health. Granted this rp could be basically used with any setting but I chose feudal Japan for this. It's about a woman looking for a bodyguard so that she may continue to deliver her goods. (This was asked of her by an old man). She does the work because she wants to save up money to open a small clinic. She doesn't really know the main man behind the shipments but later finds out she is dealing with something very illegal. So she and her bodyguard begin to have to do a bit of detective work and which brings even more trouble.

• Do you more often than not roleplay in group than 1x1?

I naturally prefer group rp. I have only done 1x1 here because it just seems right to do so. But I much rather do group

• How often do you respond?

Quite honestly it depends on the good chemistry between me and my partner. I love people who give me great dialogue, narrative and actions. I love to, as a reader, peer into your characters head and then use my character to pry. All stories need heart. So even when there is no actual action-packed moment, the story is still being driven by the thoughts emotions of our characters. So you will see me cranking out posts like no tomorrow. I do have a job so at most I will try to post at least five times a day. On my days off depending if I need to go anywhere/do anything, it will be a lot more than that.

• How often would you prefer a roleplay partner to respond?

As often as they can. (If it's 1x1 i would like them to post, at the minimum, once or twice a day.)

• How long are your replies?

Again this depends on the chemistry. If I am interested enough you could get maybe 4 paragraphs out of me. Its not about quantity with me either, its about quality.

• Which genre do you prefer? Why?

I prefer playing female. Well...I'm female and I feel like I would know what want as a female in the situations my character has put themselves in. I can rp as a male as well. But I don't really have the mind of a male so my version of a male may not be as great as I would like it to be.

• What is something that you'd like to improve on in your writing?

I's like to improve my style in general. probably look to use more of my vocabulary and paint a better picture for my reader/partner

• Don't mention any names. Describe a memorable roleplay that you didn't enjoy. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?

It was quite recent actually...and I happen to be still in it. lol I didn't want to tell them anything but I really hate their rp style and the only reason I am still rping with them is I, unfortunately, need this outlet. And since not many like my rp ideas I'm stuck with them because I can keep coming back to them and they will apparently always want to finish our rp. with that said, I am on gaiaonline with a rper who doesn't seem to make this story believable. Their character never loses and if he does lose he "allowed" the opposer to win. he is constantly written to make sure that its know he is a very powerful, extremely wise beyond his years and sees far more than what my character sees. My partner's character seamlessly becomes Batman and has chainmail under his kimono after we agree that he gets hit. He can't be harmed and when he is it's "just a scratch" even if there is a huge gash. (This is not just the character being silly this is legit.)

• Don't mention any names if you don't want to. Describe a memorable roleplay that you thoroughly enjoyed. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?

I think I was probably 2005 or 2006 so I was around sixteen or seventeen. I was using yahoo chat at the time. the rp didn't last long but I was roleplaying with someone who's character didn't have a name. He was being chased for something. I can't remember what it was. Then it was my character's duty to come up with a name for him. and I gave him the name Maverick....omg person out there if you happen to be on this site I am here. We never got to finish our rp. Our play style was very different to me because when were were done for the day we set it up where the characters would have to camp out and go to sleep. We would come back to start the rp with them waking yup. He painted the best mental pictures and I miss that person oh so much!

• How important is a character profile? What catches your eye?

Really, it wasn't really important to me for a while but then...I started to really like to read back stories and that in its on
was enough to have me contact that person for an rp session.

• What platform do you prefer?

When I hear the term platform I think of, like, tabletop or pc. I like pc. If you are talking more so chat, pm, thread. I like them all But I really like thread. I want to get back into chat because I want that feeling again as if I was back in yahoo chat getting all those awesome rp buddies.

• What's your greatest strength as a roleplayer?

My greatest strength...it has to be...being able to work off of almost nothing. (I don't like it) but gaiaonline has been that place where I had to do more work to keep an rp going. So I had to pull things out of my butt to make it last.

CHARACTER

• Do you more often than not roleplay original characters, fan character or canon characters? Why do you prefer one over the other?

I prefer original characters. Like in most things...I like to throw my flair into the story and I can play a character that truly understand well enough. Playing a canon character for me is hard and I have to have actually studied that character to understand what they may or may not do. Which might not be that hard but I just rather use my on OC's

• Which is your oldest character still in use?

Geez...I don't know... some character's I've made on the same day... So I have to say Xona and Sumiku are my oldest characters

• Is character art important? What do you think of people lifting a drawing from Google or Deviantart?

Some times I find it important...back in the day I really didn't care for a picture. But yet again GaiaOnline conditioned me and now I sort of expect a picture. I don't necessarily need one especially if a person is really great at discribing them to me.

• Which is your favorite character to roleplay as, and why?

It's hard to choose really...Its a tie between. Sumiku and Athena (or Alex as a male version) These characters are the ones I really thought through. They have been in more rps than the rest. With Athena is more adventurous because this is the first sadistic character I have created. Sumiku is also my baby because she lives in my favorite time and setting to play in which is fuedal Japan. (though I literally can change her story slightly and she can fit into just about any time line)

• How do you treat NPC's? Are they important to plot and and setting and main characters, or are they just filler?

They are very much important to me because even if they are there to be killed off later, they are something used to drive the story forward and maybe even push characters to do whats right (or wrong). And when there's a death desired and you can't and unable to kill the actual players character's off, this adds a whole new layer~

• What are your guilty pleasures when creating a character?

I tend to make my character deaf in one ear. (I stopped that when it didn't really work out on gaia) I've stopped that. Now my characters need to rely on the other person's character whether they know it or not.

• Do you have more males or females in your character list? Why is that?

Like stated above I have more female because I know how me as a female would think. Its easer as well.

OOC

• How do you normally title your roleplays, and why?
Man, I just typically try to title it something that's basic yet memorable for the roleplay, something both specific and vague to it. The same way I'd title a book or a comic. That doesn't really make any sense, does it...? Ah well. Naming things isn't my forte, anyways.

• Do you more often than not roleplay in group than 1x1?
I like roleplaying both. I used to roleplay in group a ton,, and I still do for tabletop games, but for this website, I seem to have only 1x1s.

• How often do you respond?
I do my best to do a quota of at least once a day, but sometimes I just respond to my partners periodically throughout the days. I find myself typing up posts during work-breaks and such on my phone if I'm really into it, otherwise I'll just wait until I get home and write up a nice post.

• How often would you prefer a roleplay partner to respond?
I'm quite patient with how often they post, and I typically am alright with them replying "when they can", which can vary between in less than an hour to two weeks later. My limits for waiting though is a month, which is when I give up the roleplay. I'll still respond, but it's just going to be less of a priority for me.

Preferably, I'd like a partner to respond to me in a twice or once a day schedule reliably, so I can have a time-frame each day for me to post. Occasionally, if we find ourselves online at the same time, we'd have a back and forth kind of thing, but otherwise it would mainly just be on a "when we can" basis. A no pressure situation, but also a situation where I can depend on my partner to reply in a timely manner. Of course, that's just what would be ideal for me.

• How long are your replies?
They range from typically two paragraphs to six paragraphs. So, maybe a third of a page to almost a page? It really depends on how much I'd like to write at that time.

• Which genre do you prefer? Why?
Eh... I like horror, dystopian, and smut. Especially smut. There's a reason why when one looks at my profile, there's nothing. I guess this must say a lot about me as a person. I guess the main thing is that I just think it's fun to write about and explore.

I'll just leave that there.

• What is something that you'd like to improve on in your writing?
Well, a lot of things. Improving really isn't a priority for me; I just think that improvement comes naturally as you do it, y'know?

Though, preferably, I'd like to get better at writing dialogue and descriptions. I'd also like to make better and more engaging characters. And, not really related to writing, but more related to roleplaying, but I'd like to be able to better communicate with my partners. I am a shy person, both on here and IRL, so it's hard for me to talk to people OOCly.

• Don't mention any names. Describe a memorable roleplay that you didn't enjoy. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?
Eh.
• Don't mention any names if you don't want to. Describe a memorable roleplay that you thoroughly enjoyed. Which platform? How old were you? Why was it memorable?
I'm skipping these two.

• How important is a character profile? What catches your eye?
Well, I wouldn't say it's essential, but it is something that is definitely of interest to me. I typically look at a character profile to understand the person's writing style a little bit more, and also because I'm curious about the information about them.

• What platform do you prefer?
Umm. I like forum roleplaying the best, compared to discord, etherpads, chatrooms, and other such things. I feel it's just the type of platform that fits my style of roleplaying the best, it's just a lot more relaxed and impersonal, and allows me time to do my post. Though, I feel all of these platforms are similar on the surface, it's the atmosphere which it creates. Chatrooms and discord just has this system where everything needs to be immediate, and I don't really like it that much.

Tabletop games are another separate category for me, however.
• What's your greatest strength as a roleplayer?
Umm.

I dunno.

CHARACTER

• Do you more often than not roleplay original characters, fan character or canon characters? Why do you prefer one over the other?
I roleplay original characters almost exclusively. I did have a couple of fantrolls, but I've stopped roleplaying with them as soon as I stopped being a teenager. I wouldn't able to play canon characters, because it just feels plain weird to be roleplaying as a character that another person has written. I'd just get this nagging feeling that I'm not playing them right, or I'm messing with something I shouldn't.

• Which is your oldest character still in use?
Uh... All the characters I'm currently using aren't actually that old. In fact, I think the oldest character I'm currently using is for a tabletop roleplay that's been going on since last year. For current online roleplays...? Let me just check real quickly.

Okay, this dude is less than a week old. I'm not going to say his name.
• Is character art important? What do you think of people lifting a drawing from Google or Deviantart?
I mean, character art is not really essential, but it's pretty nice to see. I sometimes do my own for my characters if I'm feeling it, though I rarely do show it on my profile and to other people.

For the second question, man, I don't know. I'd say as long as they got permission and credit the artist, then it's okay, but I know people rarely do that. It's kind of regrettable, but it can't really be avoided.

• Which is your favorite character to roleplay as, and why?
Skip.

• How do you treat NPC's? Are they important to plot and and setting and main characters, or are they just filler?
I have NPCs, but more as background and side characters than anything else. I find them a hassle to control, to be honest.

• What are your guilty pleasures when creating a character?
Skip.

• Do you have more males or females in your character list? Why is that?
Currently? I have more male than female, two male and one female, so it's not really by much. I do typically like to roleplay women more than men, so I'd just chalk it up to just as a coincidence.

Anyways, this survey was fun to write.
