If anyone has any original poetry they want to share, basically, share it here. That's pretty much it!

Note: please only post poetry you have written. Not stuff by other poets.

Dehydrated Dandelion.

Dumped seeds to the ground
from those I sprouted
up and up until my neck could barely hold my head.
i waited for help a stick to prop me up.

Selfishly you left me tilted
no compassion or worry for if I wilted
only encompassed by your self inflicted affliction
trampled my stem in the wake of your addiction.

Left unguided by a mother
my heart shone on by the sun
first rays so warm and bright
the pain and days tolerable in the rays.

Yet the sun only grew hotter
no rain came to pour down
thirsty for the affection of a
woman who grew me from the soil
denied me water of which I needed to live.

Like a dehydrated dandelion I withered
forced to cut my roots to live.
Sometimes I go looking for a "like" button. I like this. It makes a lot of sense.

A few poems :)

This is for original poems not other poets work. Sorry for not clarifying that the first time. If you could edit your post and delete those poems and include an original one or just delete those please, that would be great.

Well, I made a sonnet a while ago, might as well share it here :3
So What?

So what if I’m not stick thin

or deliciously curvy?

So what if I don’t have perfect skin

or don’t wear contacts instead of glasses to see?

So what if I shower at night

and own a stuffed animal or two?

So what if I sleep with the tv’s light

and like to visit the zoo?

I don’t need your applause

for me to take a bow.

I don’t even need to pause

or care about your raised brow.

Because, can’t you see?

I’m happy just being me.

I don't even know why I wrote this. Inspiration just came and all of a sudden, there was a sonnet XD
A few poems from my Sixth grade self

Winter
Winter is so cold
My bones freeze and stop working
Winter is too cold

Spring
Tulips bloom and grow
The outside feels so, so nice
But way too much rain

Summer
Nice cool lemonade
Tastes so good in this weather
I like to go swim

Fall
Leaves all around me
I must go back to my school
I hope I look nice
There once was a fat baby owl
The only sound he made was a howl
He got displeased
Then he sneezed
And there went the fat baby owl
Doing my homework
With a dull pencil
That has no eraser
It is unreadable
And all smeared
Rogue-Scribe

(Haiku)
The wind touches you
Long hair caressing your face
Your smile brings me joy

A silly poem I wrote for school:
The Fridge
The fridge is filled with food
Falling on the floor
There might be something barbecued
Old as dinosaurs

Our fridge has tasty things
Flowing out the door
This food is old as the vikings
Perfect food for war

My fridge needs to be cleaned
Food has swamped the floor
I must defeat this messy fiend
It’s time to find the cure

(edited to make it flow better)

That's cute lol

The Fridge
The fridge is filled with food
I cannot see the shelves anymore
There might be something barbecued
Probably as old as a dinosaur

Our fridge is filled with yummy things
Food is overflowing out the door
This food is as old as the vikings
That is perfect for a food war

My fridge needs a cleaning
The food is overtaking the floor
All the people in the house are ailing
I must get to the cleaning which I abhor

That's adorable

Happens to me too sometimes. Some mysterious place out there downloads a poem into my head while I'm driving or showering or something and says, "here's a thing that's too good to not write down"

First Poem I Ever Wrote

What do I do when I find I'm the same
As those they talk about that way
Inside a cautious, awkward frame?
"I guess they have the right," they say.
"But I'd never be friends with one of them,"
Or, "one of those."
No, no, no, no.
I just can't live my life that way.

((This was the poem I wrote when I discovered that I was attracted to girls. Of course NOW, I am completely over any worry about what people think, but in 8th grade, and in the world the way it used to be, not so much.))

As a bisexual woman, I can totally relate. 💕

Pastel

I'm pastel on my own.
Bright only in the dullest sense.
Soft and I'm destroyed by a smudge.
Beautiful to the eyes.
Shallow in a wave of emotion.
Pretty words are everything.
Tell me I don't need saturation.
It's not fair, closed off and losing time.
So devoid of color it's hard to breath.
Pastel on my own.
I'll make peace with my home.
Tell me I'll be- don't tell me I can't see.
Caught in a rainbow.
I'm the air in between, everything is real but me.
I'm too vague.
