Hello to you all! I was referred to this site by a friend for a more active and writing focused community. I am very excited to write here as it looks like there are some incredible writers well established here already! Thank you for having me.
I am looking primarily for Tolkien/Lord of the Rings/Silmarillion based connections, but I am open to crossing over to other High Fantasy genre's like Elder Scrolls or Dragon Age and the like.

[*] I am friendly OOC and willing to just chat.

[*] I LOVE adventure based writing. (Seeing new things, survival storylines etc..)

Welcome to RpR! I see Dunedain-Ranger found this thread, and he was one of the main people I was going to mention. If they're available for new RP's, which I don't know one way or the other, two other people I have RP'd with who are also proud Tolkein nerds, and just....lovely people are LadyOfGondor (the name kinda gives you a clue, huh? If medieval fantasy is your preference, you could not have chosen a better site.
There are many of us who love adventure and DnD and LOT inspired characters, even if not all us are fully versed on these we still come up with great stories.
If you find nobody to RP with... feel free to drop a PM

Suilad, and welcome to RPR! We have lots and lots of fantasy here, so I'm sure you're going to find plenty of stuff that will fit your interests. It looks like you've already found a few people to play with, which is fantastic, but here's a few more tips:
Most people start in the Looking For RP forum to find RPs. There's also a search tool that will help you find what you're looking for within that forum - click "Find RP" in the top menu, then "join game" then scroll to the bottom to adjust your preferences for game types. If you want more info on using that search tool, here's a handy help article. We also have a getting started guide which you may find helpful.

I heard Lord of the Rings, so I just had to come and welcome you. You'll definitely find lots of people here that love Tolkien, and there are several groups devoted to such, one of which I am in.
