There were days when Hallow's Eve had been a much more serious holiday, especially with it being the one day aside from Midsummer's Eve that the mischievous MoorFae would frolic about in the open before May Day. But somehow over the years, the practice of dress-ups and rituals that once kept away these little pranksters had become a well-celebrated revel.

The Treasure Lamp was a shop of curiosities that resided in the bustling trade-city of Porthcaul. This shop contained many trinkets and tools upon its shelves, including weapons, tomes, potion ingredients, and enchanted talismans, among many other things. The space is relatively small and homey, the structure of wood and lit by a twisting spark of golden light trapped in a lantern. A jack-o-lantern sits upon the glass-display counter, aside a metal box and a bowl of candy. The lone figure behind the counter is a tall figure with a mottled, green and brown hooded cloak, with a black cloth obscuring his nose and mouth. His electric-blue hair contrasted his mauve skin and almost neon-green eyes, and for the time being he rested his chin in his hand as he waited for the others to come back from their own frolicking.

((Some restrictions to this RP: Keep in mind this is in a medieval fantasy setting, but the only genre I won't allow is anything too futuristic [nuclear/plasma weapons and the like]. Cyborgs and steampunk is alright, as well as other genres. FYI the guy at the counter has no qualms about using magic if your character is being a nuisance lol))
Enri bustled into the shop, sharp eyes glittering, though whether malice, mischief, or fear was unclear. He was dressed in a get-up that was absolutely ridiculous: all patchworks and rakish angles, chimes and bangles, and a dark, horned mask of bone and leather obscuring the upper-half of his face. But it was hardly out of place on a night like this.

When he saw the counter was manned, he flashed a smile and came closer.

"Ah. 'Evening, good sir, and many apologies if this is an intrusion on your, uh," he glanced at the lantern and bowl of candy, "festivities. Do you carry powdered iron, or perhaps things to make one invisible to scrying or magical tracking? Or do you know of where I might find either on short notice?"

Tonight had been a fairly unusual one for Lyanna. It seemed that Vox had run off again to see things that were much more exciting to her on this particular day or night of festivity. Though the celestial being did not really mind too much, she did worry a bit about their venture on any planet when they were not soaring among the other stars and asteroids. Mostly because of their composition and the fact that, well... it seemed they were 'under-dressed' for most occasions, even if their anatomy did not perfectly resemble a typical humanoid.

Finding interest in a storefront, Lyanna decided to at least amuse herself by walking into the store. It seemed that there were other patrons here, looking for their own items. However, Lyanna stuck to window shopping at this current time. For now, Lyanna went to one of the stands and gently touched one of the trinkets on display.

There was a small sparkle in her eyes as she appreciated the navy blues and cerulean base and the sparkling speckles within that reminded her of being home among the stars.

"H'llo there," the DuskFae greeted, straightening up to a full standing position as the patrons walked in, for a moment unaware if they were browsing or if they were just here for the treats that sat upon the counter. Sparrow had been left behind to watch the shop as the rest of his teammates had gone out to frolic. Not that he minded either way. MoorFolk and other malign spirits tended to run rampant upon this night, and he'd had one too many experiences that simply turned him off the whole Hallow's Eve thing. But that didn't mean he couldn't take care of the shop and occasionally hand out some candy.

"A block for scryin'?" he repeated for clarity's sake to Enrique's request. "I think we got sumthin' fer that..." As Sparrow moved from behind the counter to head over to one of the shelves, he also nodded a faint greeting to Lyanna, who had walked in as well. The Fae pushed aside a few of the items on the shelves before lifting an amulet from one of the stands and holding it up towards Enrique.

"See 'fya like it. What currency ya usin'? 'xchange rate's been li'l rough lately, but I needta know ta give ya a set price."
"Yes! And thank you." His entire body language shifted into an almost dramatic show of relief as he went for his coinpurse.

"I've got Gil, Gran Torren, or Reales, if one's a better conversion than the others? What is the local coinage, again?"

Sparrow lifted an amused eyebrow at the exaggerated display, letting a hand find a pocket of his shorts as he continued to hold out the amulet. “Wisp-hours are usually what we’re usedta takin’ ‘round here, but Gil’s fine. I’m pretty sure we talkin’...” he trailed off, thinking for a moment.

“900 Gil,” he stated after a moment. “Really quite a deal, considerin’ what it c’n do. Not to mention it’s unlimited use.”

He also glanced over at Lyanna. “You lemme know if you find anythin’ interestin’ o’er there, arite?”
He flinched, hearing that price, but nodded. 900 was considerably less than he'd expected to hear for such an item, though far from pocket change. Enri considered his options, occasionally tilting his head as though it would help him weigh it better. After a few jingles and jangles, he'd sigh and fish out a coin pouch.

It looked only slightly burdened at first, but as he dipped into it for more handfuls of money, that was quickly shown to be false. Eventually, he had laid out the appropriate amount of the notched gilded coins.

"900 Gil and thank you for your time."

There was a moment where Lyanna watched Enrique and Sparrow. It seemed that there was something that was being negotiated over when it came to an item that was on display in the shop. Perking up some, after seeing the exchange, Lyanna took up the pendant that she found and walked over to the shopkeeper and putting the pendant down on the counter top for purchase.

Glancing down at the strange, shiny objects that were being exchanged, Lyanna took a moment before reaching into her ever flowing... hair? of stars and then pulling out a handful of shining green peridots and moldavite that were still encrusted with black rock.

Placing the gemstones on the counter next to the pendant, Lyanna looked kind of pleased with herself.

“Arite, here y’ go,” Sparrow hummed as he lowered the amulet into Enrique’s hand, his near-neon green eyes crinkling in what could be interpreted as a smile, since the DuskFae was wearing a mask. He scooped up the coins in his hands and nodded to him. “You enjoy that. Have fun wit’ whate’er trouble you’re gettin’ into.” He then turned to Lyanna, who looked like she already knew what she wanted. He couldn’t help but wonder what sort of creature she was. Many types of species made their home in Veritae...

But back to business. He took a glance at the pendant as well as the payment that he had been offered, a bit pleased to see that he didn’t have to haggle her for more. “Nice, nice. Y’seemta have a pretty good idea o’ value. Azaridet stone is pretty rare around ‘ese parts...but we been around. ‘S’what makes us a bit different.” He took out a small scope from one of the drawers and examined one of the gems through it. They were of an impeccable quality so far as he could tell. Definitely worth the price he had in mind. “Alright, I’m good with that,” he exhaled, scooping the gems and placing them into a jar before placing the jar behind the counter and just out of sight, separately from the coins that he had received from Enrique.

“Hey, y’guys. Both o’ you. You guys c’n take some candy before you go,” he cocked his chin at the bowl upon the counter. “It’s Hallow’s Eve. Just don’t go nuts. Gotta save some for kids who inevitably roll around.” A smile could be read in his voice.
A loud skittering could be heard outside for a moment, a massive shadow passing by the window quickly. The noise would cease suddenly, and when the door opened, a small child- no, that was just a short woman, peeked her head into the door from beneath a heavy cloak. Behind her, no beasts or anything that could explain those noises and shadows- just a little woman with unnaturally green eyes and a mouth full of sharp teeth, incredibly shiny but displaying a proud smile. At the sight of others, Avalynn felt relief wash over her; she was incredibly thankful this shop was still open, what luck! It took quite some effort to don this human disguise, and had it all been for nothing well, she certainly wouldn't have been lacking prey during this time.

"Good evening, all!" Avalynn said in her chipper tone, sliding into the shop with a strange sort of grace that felt very practiced, and yet... too stiff, like it took focus to move so carefully. But judging on all that squinting she was doing, she was having a difficult time seeing- in this human form, she seemed to have even worse vision. Carefully, she just went about her business, her attention split between the use of her nose to locate just what she was looking for, and her ears, to listen to the others about the room, "Mr. Shopkeeper," She hummed, "Would you happen to have any snake skin here? Fairy wings may work too-" She bumped a shelf, her arm shooting out from beneath her cloak with an oddly quick reflex to stabilize a jar.

Once it seemed like the transaction went through, Lyanna happily took up the pendant and looked it over with admiration before reaching back into her hair of stars and placing the pendant safely within. Before she had a chance to depart the store, the shopkeeper directed her attention to the bowl of candies that were apparently offered to all customers.

Peering at the candies curiously, there was a long moment as Lyanna glanced between Sparrow and the bowl a couple of times before deeming it alright to take a candy. Poking through the candies, Lyanna picked out an orange wrapped candy that looked like it had a funny face on it before tossing that into her hair of stars as well. Smiling again to herself, she gently started to skip away before turning around and waving a goodbye to Sparrow.

Lyanna was excited to return back to Vox and show her the new item she had acquired that night. It would make for a lovely gift, after all!

"'Njoy your night," Sparrow called out to Lyanna before she headed out. His own neon green eyes settled upon the visage of the two-legged Avalynn...but Sparrow wasn't called such for no particular reason. The DuskFae's keen observation noted the too-tense that indicated that this was either not a usual form, or she was here for some ulterior reason and couldn't seem to hide nervousness well enough.

Nevertheless, he nodded in greeting. "'Llo, there..." He paused, considering her request. Potion ingredients, it sounded like...gods, it was a shame that Snowy wasn't here, as she was off and about with her brother. The herbalist probably would've been able to be a bit more prompt at the request. His ear twitched beneath his hood at the sudden almost-fall of the jar, but the quick reflexes didn't bother him. People who knew to come here for the goods tended to be those skilled in their craft, whether mercenary work or otherwise. The Treasure Lamp was known for their ability to obtain even some of the rarest of goods, but such came at a pretty penny as well.

"I'm sure we got some 'round here somewhere," the Fae mused as he moved to another of the shelves, pushing aside wax-sealed jars of crimson wort and white araconia flowers as he searched. "Right, here we are," he straightened up as he pulled aside the correct jar, filled with coiling and fragile snakeskin. He moved towards the counter, reaching behind it to draw out a set of scales. "Now, 's 'ere a specific amount you were needin'? 'Cuz we got, I think, nine ounces in this jar, and a few more 'n' storage."
