Greetings,

So in this discussion, we will be organizing a compilation of everything that is going on actively in the Realms of Obelus. Such will include lore, which is constantly updated based on player events that occur in the RP; as well as links to each active thread in the Fantasy Forums. For the last several months, since early July, we have attracted a great team of quality writers who are committed to the lore and vision of Obelus. It has expanded thusly, and now we are making it public, with a vision to not only organize it for our devotees and readers, but to also invite others in. All of our threads are closed, but if your character concept is good and you are interested in a passionate world, that is full of politics, war, romance and intrigue, then characters are always welcomed.

Special thanks to 8TigerBunnyTora for deciding to collaborate with me and bring her Crown of Laurels idea into the realm of Obelus. Now we are building this world together and it has been a perfect creative opportunity for the both of us.

I’ll have to get with you Rev and show you the map I’ve been crafting. Once I finish the descriptions of the other three realms, we can definitely callborate. 😉

Alright, I'd appreciate that as there were a few zones I was planning on tossing in as well as some geographical points mentioned for the Crown Of Laurels that I was told were kind of important.

I also have the landmasses drafted up in my rough already in case you want to go over and see what fits and what doesn't.

@ReverieCore: Sounds great! I would love to include all of your work in Obelus so nothing is lost.

I know some of this info is probably available in the beginning of the Crown of Laurels OOC channel, but I'm gonna ask 'em all here anyways so that all our current contributors can chime in.

1. What is considered the average maximum lives for the Urdu elves?

2. How old was Elvira's father when he died? (I know he had a name but it was nuts and I'm not gonna try to spell it when I'm still exhausted from work.)

3. Do elves age just super slowly or do they reach a certain age without appearing to get any older outwardly and then die?

I know in the OOC for the crown of laurels, it said elves can average 1300 years (which seems REALLY long, but considering they're traditionalists who don't see much by way of change, it's easy to see how that'd be no big deal.)

I thought that too but it wasn't my world so I didn't question it initially. I mean, DnD elves only live to what? 500? And Serv's elves are both several hundred years past Tora's original median (not that that's a bad thing, I'm just trying to work out how the rules work). So what's the range on that average? Cause my current goal is to have my new character be one of the oldest elves in the realm, but it's hard to do that until I understand how elves age and for how long.

1& 2.) Originally, Tora had Jhahardis Navishiëne Teliek'vhran as old as 5000, but we all thought it was too much, considering Obelus is only 2,000 years old since the recreation. It would mean he died around 1800, which was the longest living Elf.

3.) There is a divine vine called Redroot that when consumed naturally with Etymon Root, it would make them immortal. But when the dwarves attacked them and closed off the First Garden, the elves fled and lost their etymon resource. Thus the redroot was so potent that it still remains in their blood, allowing them such a longer life span. Albeit without the Etymon to balance them, they will eventually die of old age. (I will have more info about the vines soon but now it would spoil stuff; so we will learn more about it in the RP; then I will convert it to the lore page)

3) elves just age really slowly

Question. Would it be alright if I made my council member the previous king's younger sister? She never bore any children of her own. She's so old she'll have passed before the Crown of Laurels. But it would give Elvira one really powerful voice on the council to help her push through her decision. A voice silenced before Elvira's passing which allows her dissenters free reign to obliterate her legacy once the events in the Crown thread have begun. Thoughts? Yea's? Nay's?

The idea was to have Elvira push through with the decision as much as the majority of the council is against it, which is why she has such a difficult time in jttn. I don’t mind having another council member for her as long as the majority is against her.

New question! As of Journey to the North how long has Elvira held the throne?

That’s still a question we’re discussing. But definitely at least twenty years. Still not a long time for the elves tho.
