Last weekend I went to my 20 year (that's right, 20 year) High School reunion. I got to wondering what other peoples' experiences might have been like, and if my experience was typical. So, if you went to one (your 5 year, 10 year, etc), what was it like? Are you glad you did? If you didn't, why not and are you glad you didn't go?
Only been to a primary school reunion while I was still in high school. It was pretty boring and showed just how far we'd grown apart in those few years already. Don't think I'd attend one for my high school, it wasn't that fun :')

Yeah. I'll tell you, I only connected with about 3 people there (at my 20th), but those three people made the trip worth it. However, the rest of the time, it was soooooo awkward.

I avoided my reunions up to 2006. It was my 30th and I was in town. It was.. interesting. I found out a few of the ladies were hot on me back then! Trouble was I was shy in high school.

I was a week late in town for the 40th in 2016, but my friend and dear lady who was the primary organizer of the reunion set up a 'redux' night for the people who lived local at a bar that was one we would sneak into back in the day. It was good to catch up with several people who I went through the school years with and talk about life and death and all.

There were too many of our classmates who left this world too soon.
I had a nightmare once about revisiting the city I went to high school in. There was maybe one person who remembered me. No one else had any idea who I was. Wouldn't be surprising, either, since conviently no one remembered me helping out with fundraisers for senior trip and I nearly got screwed out of going.

But no, I have no interest in a high school reunion. I don't like the town. I don't like the common mindset there. Even among those I got along with during high school, enough has changed that trying to reconnect would be for more stressful than I can imagine it being worth.

I'm a drifter. *shrugs* And I don't like going backwards.

I do have a weird nostalgia urge to go explore a school, though. Basically any school. But I don't feel like being arrested and asked why my 30-year-old childfree butt is hanging around a school.

Awww... Hmm... Now I'm trying to think of ways to explore a high school without it looking funny. Oh! I've got it. Go to a high school play. The play will likely be terrible (unless certain people I know on here that happen to be in high school and happen to be actorsssss are in it), but anyway, if you can sit through the play, you could probably walk through the halls a bit before or at intermission, and it would just look like boredom.

Can confirm, this would probably work.
