I'm a glutton for good quotes, short powerful lines that bring a belief home. The one I've had on my profile for the past some-odd years means a great deal to me:

Meanwhile, my main character's page is riddled with quotes for flavor, lines that inspire me while writing him. For a lord who's suffered strife and conquered innumerable obstacles, I picked for his primary:

Props for your literary bouquet, what a rollercoaster, Kazantzakis took me down then Frankl brought me up again.
It's hard for me to choose any one quote. My main tends to fall back on them to help her make points in a conversation, or to help her understand someone elses line of thought. Like Libertine posted earlier, too, the characters page has a lot of meaningful (to the character) quotes.

'Real knowledge is knowing you don't know anything, and thus, can learn everything.',

For my tundra-dwelling snow elf, I gathered up quotes that best suited her people's tribal nature. They're wild, but not without culture and care, a very spiritual and practical people with a tremendous respect for nature.
