A lot of us have a list of characters we adore but are too starstruck by to reach out to. I'll share mine and you can share yours!
But first, a few gentle reminders:
🌹 As much as possible, please try make or use an anonymous character. Less pressure on everyone.
🌹 Keep things sweet. Be light and cheerful.
🌹 A given, but please keep things PG-13.
🌹 No obligations, no expectations. Just send out positive feelings into the world!
🌹 State why you, personally, are a secret admirer. Use phrases like "I like this character because..." or "What I really admire about this character is..." or "This character caught my attention because..."
🥀 Please don't use phrases like "This character is better than this other character because..." or "It's a fact that Character X is the greatest at..." Let's build a spirit of appreciation, not competition.
🥀 Don't try to guilt-trip the character's player into reaching out to you. Our goal is to give others the warm fuzzies, not stress them out.
🥀 And please don't put yourself down!
I know many of us shy types tend to do this automatically. Do your best to resist. Don't say "I'd love to roleplay with this character, but I'm too shy or unworthy or annoying or my grammar is bad." Try to take out the "but"! (This is hard for me too.)

Shanantina ran one of the Trick or Treat threads, and I love the concept of her world, as well as her detailed history and background. Reading her story gave me shivers down my spine! The gifs and images used in her profile really built up a powerful atmosphere of Gothic luxury, not to mention the fact that I just find so much to admire in authoritative, unapologetically gorgeous women.
Dralt
I always get a little thrill whenever I see Dralt's icon in the forums. With its polished look and fluid, natural motion, it makes me feel like I'm in a professionally-developed videogame. Entering his profile just solidifies that feeling. Just look at all those illustrations and the incredible wealth of detail and history! I get the impression that I'm in the presence of someone iconic, who has a life and voice of his own.
Paranoiac
I like to think I've already seen too many things to be easily frightened by a character concept, but this beautiful monster genuinely terrified and fascinated me! I love the meticulously thought-out anatomy and sheer other-ness. (Warning for epileptics: flashing images.)

Throthgar the Pretty is my idol! She is so kawaii and stylish, and She has a sense of humor as strong as her arms!
I like this character because she sounds so much fun to rp with. I like the light hearted carefree aura she has. She's not afraid to act silly, because she's already confident in who she is.
