Hey guys and gals! I was wondering if I could get some help or advice with something?

You see, I've been creating characters of all different types, but yet it seems like my starters and posts goes unnoticed. I'm looking to make new friends and long term roleplay partners, but it seems like nothing is working. I was wondering what I could possibly be doing wrong?

Any advice and help would be appreciative!

I've taken a look, and I honestly don't think you're doing anything wrong.

It could be the fact that your Roleplay just hasn't come across anybody who's interested in the idea yet. Sometimes it can take a while to get a response. I remember one of mine took two months to get one response, lol

Really? Sometimes it feels like whenever I try to do a good lengthy and detailed roleplay, it just doesnt seem to appeal anyone.

Yeah. I think it's just important to realise there are hundreds of people on this site, and a lot of them aren't active everyday. It also means a lot of posts are put out a day, and if you're like me, you can't be arsed to go through page after page to find a roleplay. So it may also be the fact that people just aren't seeing it before it gets pushed aside, lost in the thousands of pages.

Yeah, I think you're right. You seem like a fun and caring person. Would you like to be friends and maybe discuss ideas for a roleplay?

This happened when I first started here to me also. Get into the forums and interduction sections here. You'll be noticed in no time like I was.
Also right now people are pretty busy getting ready for Thanksgiving so the people that might be interested may be too busy at the moment.

Yeah, I think you're right about that part too. At least I'm glad to know its true. Would you like to be friends and maybe discuss ideas for roleplays?

Yeah, I've done that, and now it's been silence. Would you like to discuss ideas for roleplays?

Sure! ^_^ I'm slightly busy right now, but if you shoot me a PM I'll respond as soon as I can :)

Deal :)
Ayy, you ought to check out the Looking For RP section and drop a recruiting thread there! If the right people just happen to stumble upon your thread in the IC forum itself, most of them will scroll past as they can't say for sure if they're allowed to jump in or not (and sending a PM outta nowhere is kinda scary to do for most of 'em).

Anyway, best of luck in finding the folks you need! c:
Aye, what Garnaal said, the best place to start is the 'Looking For RP' forum. Heck, you may even see some ideas there from other people that interest you, too! I know I've seen a fair few myself. :)

I know the feeling, but honestly like people have been saying it's less you and more just people not seeing it, or just into different things. I've been trying to get a few more rps lately and I just don't think anyone is into what I am, or my way of rp. Just keep trying!

Out of curiosity, what kinds of stuff, and what way of RP?

Personally? I like character interaction with a focus on the relationship whether it be rivals, friends, enemies, romance, or a fling. I don't mind over arching plots, but I like the small nitty gritty stuff myself.
(Lately, I've been seeking some MxM with my main boys though haha, but not exclusively)
I also lean more towards a single paragraph ranging 4-9 sentences in length. I can write more, but I like a quicker response over purple prose, as long as there's something to work with in each post.
Ah, ok. None of that stuff would bother me--though MxM in any romantic setting isn't really my thing, it's not something I actually mind doing, either--I can do and have done it in the past.

Well, if you're really interested you can pm me, I don't wanna get too off topic xD
Honestly i have the same thing going dont worry your not the only one. Im pretty new so im experiencing this a lot.
Seems like you've already had quite a few people post reasons here, but I figured I'd offer a piece of my mind as well.

I've seen plenty players post that they prefer the same RP length as you do, so you shouldn't worry about that. If you haven't done so already, I recommend that you post ideas for RPs/write what you're looking for either in the "Looking for RP" or "Looking for RP - Adults Only" forum. Or both! If you're lucky, someone will bite there. I can take several tries to land an enjoyable partner, because we're all very different and like different stories, themes, styles etc. There are also quite a few groups you can look at - perhaps there's something suitable for you there?

I also highly recommend going to the chat, and getting to know people. I've found that the RPs I enjoy the most are those I'm doing with people who're already my friends. If you already have a partner or two you enjoy RPing with, perhaps they have some friends you'd enjoy working with as well?
You can also poke around on people's profiles, and check out their characters. Not all people happen to be checking the LFRP sections when you're posting a proposal, and many probably aren't actively looking for a new RP. If you see something you feel inspired by, you can send them a message and ask if they'd be interested. Sure, they might say no, but they might also say yes :)

In general, it's a pretty friendly community here. Some people(myself included) might take a long time to respond - we all have lives outside of RPR, and sometimes it can take a while for us to come back to the site, or to find the right mojo for creating good posts. Or, maybe we just thought out a reply that we never actually wrote. I've done that more times than I care to admit!
That being said, we likely all fall victim to ghosting at some point. Don't let it discourage you. People can have millions of different reasons as to why they didn't respond, and it doesn't necessarily have to do with you. More often than not, it's probably real life things keeping them.

I hope this was somewhat informative/useful. :) Happy hunting!
