Happy holiday season my lovely RPR friends!

It's that time of the year again where the outside is cold (or really hot South of the equator) and we reflect on what we're thankful for. The past couple of weeks I've been working my butt off to knit an awesome RPR themed knitwear set and I decided to give this set away to keep a lucky member warm! It's super easy to enter, all you need to do is read and agree to the rules and write a little blurb. :)

The set consists of:
  • 1 RPR colored slouchy hat with a pompom and folded brim (adult size M/L)
  • 1 pair of RPR colored fingerless mittens with an embroidered RPR logo on each mitten (they're universal, meaning you can wear them on either hand and with the logo facing up or down as you choose) (adult size M/L)
  • 1 fluffy RPR brown colored cowl (adult sized)

The patterns for these are my own making, and every item is knit by hand and made with love. I will publish the patterns after the giveaway for anyone who didn't win but wants to make or have some made of their own.

Knitwear info:
The yarn used is 100% acrylic - no animal fibers or cotton.
They were knit in a home with cats and I can't guarantee they're cat hair free.
They were knit in a smoke free home.
They're machine washable (on cold or lukewarm - 30C / 86F).
They'll last longest when air dried, but can be tumble dried on low.

How do I enter?

It's easy! In 50 words or more, tell me at least one way RPR has positively impacted your life and/or what you're grateful for this year. :) There's no size limit to the entry.

After the deadline has passed, all qualifying entries will be assigned numbers in order of submission and dice will be rolled publicly in this thread to pick a winner. As the dice are fully randomized they'll be the fairest way to pick!

Participation rules

I will mention beforehand that I expect people to read and adhere to these simple rules. Entries that don't follow these rules will not qualify for the giveaway. If you're unsure about anything, please PM me first! I'll be more than happy to explain anything that's unclear.
  1. The deadline for entries is December 14th 2018, 11:59pm PST.
  2. Entries must be posted on this thread, no PMs - it'll be too hard to track for me.
  3. Entries can be submitted from user accounts only. Please don't post as a character, even if at the time of posting your character was listed publicly. It won't count.
  4. If you win, I need your physical address or a PO box that accepts packages so that I can send you the items. I will only use this info to mail you this one package. After the package has been sent out to you, I will delete the PM with the address from my RPR inbox and the 'Trash' folder, and no copy of your address will be kept by me.
    • If you're a minor, you need explicit permission from your parent(s)/guardian(s) to share your address with me.
  5. Your entry must be PG-13 and not break any of the site rules.
  6. Your entry must contain the following bit of text to acknowledge that you agree with the rules in this post and give permission. If it's not present in your entry, it will not qualify:
    Code:
[b]I understand that if I win this giveaway, I'm sharing a physical mailing address for the purpose of receiving the prize. I give consent as a legal adult, or I'm a minor who's received parental consent to share this information through PMs on The RP Repository.[/b]

When will the package be sent?
The short answer is: as soon as I can financially cover it, most likely before the end of December!

The long answer: I'll be able to cover shipping expenses in December, but as I'm currently supporting myself, my roommate and my two cats on my disability income, I'm just not certain when in December that will be. If anyone is interested in helping out with the financial aspect of getting this sent out to the winner, please PM me! I'll be happy to share the courier's shipping info and provide a receipt. None of the money will be kept for personal gain as this is a gift, not a sale. :)

RPR has been incredible for me. Honestly, it's the only thing that keeps me writing anymore. It used to be just a secondary place to RPR, where my main place was Furcadia. But during and after college (especially after), I got too busy to be able to be online for the chunks of time that Furcadia required for a decent RP. After sadly phasing out from Furcadia, RPR became my only place to write. I owe it so much. I have grown, I've changed, I've had AMAZING RPs, but I've also made incredible friendships. I have people on here that make me smile every time I see a message from them. People on here I can come to when things just get to be too much, and I feel like I can't handle the weight of the world. I'm so grateful for the RPR in so many ways. I've been on this site for almost eight years now. There have been incredible memories that I have made, and I look forward to so much more.
Thank you, RPR. Thank you, Kim. And thank you, community. <3
Omg this is so amazing, they're so cute Sanne!

RPR has impacted my life in too many ways to list all of them - but one of the biggest is how supportive everyone is here. I would never have gotten my first book rough draft even written if it werent for the friend's I have made who express their support and excitement on a frequent basis. Without this websites character slots I'd never have figured out how great I am at character building. I've improved my writing and my confidence ten fold with rps on here. Rpr is my home. There's no where else I'd rather write, no where else I'd rather be. This place saved my life at one point, I won't go into detail, but it really did. I adore RPR and the people I've met, and Kim.

Hello my name is naysayer.
And I joined rprepository after I broke up with my girlfriend in May I was going through hard times. Rprepository got my mind off it. I never thought I would be writing or role playing. RPR gave my confidence to write.i love the Community and all the people I have met has made my live better because of rprepository I started working on my 1st novel in august. I was told my writing skills were good and I had a lot of motivation from people I met on here.
Thank you for everything all the mods do to keep this site up and running. Happy holidays and happy New Years and good luck to everyone that’s entering. Ever since I joined rprepository I get on everyday to talk all my friends that I have made.

Ahem! The RPR has been a getaway for me. I joined in the closing of my sophomore year (I think)...so I could roleplay on an unblocked site. However, since it's blocked anyway now...I love to use the RPR as a place where I think my writing can shine! It's a wonderful place where I've made friends, and certainly had a good time.

@Sanne I'll throw down $20AUD to postage costs.

Updated the list! <3

@KatayokuNoTenshiVII: Gosh that sounds annoying, I'm sorry RPR ended up on that block list but I'm happy you're still around! :D

That is amazing, thank you Claine!! That will help me send the package with a tracking number for the winner, which is my preferred way of sending knitwear these days. Thank you!
That hat. I want that hat. I want it all! Sign me up!

Okay, so where to start? I have seen many things on RPR that has aided me in my journey of self-discovery: the kind and open community, the friendly atmosphere, the influx of inspiration that hits me in the face. RPR has been essential in proudly confirming and expressing my identity as freely as I wish. If not for the open feeling probing throughout the site that screams: "it's more than okay to be who you are, we'll treat you the same as anyone who visits here," then I would've long left a good while back. Not only that, but it's been a good aid in combating my anxiety of talking to people. I'm fearfully shy around others to the point where I'm instantly suspicious about any notes I get from other people. But I also love people and want to talk with them. RPR has been so welcoming and patient for shyer types like me. It's also nice to see other shy types speaking up and mingling in like I have. I'm proud to be a member of this amazing community.

@LightSide-Lucree That was really wonderful and I'm so glad RPR helped you that way. <3

I updated the list and received donations from two members to help with shipping! You guys are the absolute best. We're at €17 out of a target of €24.30 (based on a 0-2kg parcel with track and trace to a destination outside of Europe) - donating is not necessary, but would be extremely helpful. If anyone else wants to contribute to make sure the winner gets their package faster, please PM me!

Hello lovelies!

Just a heads up that the 14th is right around the corner. :) You have until 11:59PM PST December 14th to enter the giveaway! If you have been putting it off or are unsure about anything, please let me know and I'd be happy to discuss things.
I can't believe it took me this long to take notice. I am in love with those gloves! That, and I still have that little owl you knitted a couple of years ago. I can attest to your quality work!

If there's any delivery costs, I'll gladly cover those as well.

When I joined RPR all those years ago, I learned what being part of a community was like. I had joined a few before all this, but nothing lasted like RPR did. Despite the fact I am much less active due to real life keeping me busy, I still use RPR weekly to play and gather with my friends in our games, some of which have been going on for a couple of years by now. RPR is simply always there, whether I'm active or not. I can always rely on it being there, for it to welcome me back to the ever growing cast of members with open arms. There's rarely been any communities of this size that are this welcoming and personal. That in itself means a lot to me, and undoubtedly to countless people.

I'll always be here, one way or another. I belong here. So do you. Everyone does. That's what RPR is. A community that is truly open.

Gosh Pirate that brought a tear to my eye! Very happy to add you to the list. <3
I've been debating on whether or not to do this ;-;. I usually get too shy and back out or something LOL. I might as well give it a shot. It's sweet reading all these stories and getting some insight on how RPR has worked its magic on others.

That said!

I think there're a few things that could be said, if I'm honest. I've always felt that RPR has been a good platform for roleplay since I started using it for that, but I wound up meeting some of the best people I know through it. I've developed true, longterm friendships with people, and honestly, if not for those people, I'm not sure I'd be who I am today or where I am today. It's weird to think of it like that... But some of them were there for me when I was trying to get through rocky or abusive relationships. Some were there for me helping me gather resources on gender and sexuality, helping me understand that I'm not broken or abnormal, just feeling different ways than I thought I would when I was younger.

I can't list everyone. There're way too many people to count. I love each of them dearly, even if we don't talk much, or if most of our interactions are through likes on facebook or meme-spamming here and there, or conversations every couple of months or so.

Hell, like... You guys helped me with my surgery. You helped me get better as an artist by commissioning me or giving me honest critique when you didn't like a part of what I did for you. I wouldn't know what I know. I wouldn't have tried to be a better, more open-minded person had I not joined this community and interacted with many of the people here.

As for what I'm thankful for, definitely the friendships I have here, as cheesy as it is. The ones I met this year, the ones who've stuck around. The ones who really get me, you know? I'm thankful for my husband, which is also pretty cheesy. But he took the brunt of the surgery cost, and without him and you guys, I wouldn't be at peace with myself. Sorta. Lol. Thankful for my mom for trying to learn to be a better person, too. She's done so much growth and I've never been prouder.

I'm thankful for myself, for finally, after years, pulling my pants up and getting brave enough to confront the person who had wronged me the most, and I'm thankful for the people who were there for me when I was anxious and down and a total mess because of it. I dunno. I'm thankful that I still have things to be thankful for, even if I'm at a low place, and knowing that kind of helps me, too.

Okay, so that's way more than fifty words, but my fiNGERS WOULDN'T BEHAVE, I'm sorry hah.
