Hello, I'm looking for some advice or guides on coding! If you look at my characters, they all use the default format: ya basics, ya history, maybe an OOC page. But, I lost a character while the server was down and instead of boring myself with the the usual formula, I thought I'd try my hand a fancier character page.

If you could drop some resources or give me some advice on how to start, thatd be great!

I consider myself not a total novice at coding/HTML, but I have no real experience either, if that helps. I play around with tumblr themes for example, but it's not as if I make my own or anything, haha. Thanks in advance!

I quite like a nice simple layout I have to admit. Some of my favourites are VERY simple.

I find too many animated bits or flashy graphics etc can be way too distracting and make it quite hard to read.
It's nice to have a nice simple graphical thing though, like a border or a one sided decoration just to make it a bit prettier, a few little pictures maybe to break up text in places.

Your character Mira I think has a very nice page. It's simple and easy to read but has enough little pops of colour with the picture and background to look pretty and appealing. That'd be my idea of a "pretty" page hahah.

I am generally of the same mindset. I like things to be easy to read and continue to be easy to read on mobile. "There's sophistication in simplicity" has always rang true for me. Like if I'm struggling to read a character page, I am super unimpressed. BUT I'm also feeling a little safe and restless with my current line-up, so I want to try to change it up. And I figure that worst case, I can go back to my plain layouts :>
