This is my first day at the RP Repository, and I must admit that I'm already quite impressed with this site. Everything here is far more intricately designed than the role-play sites on which I used to play around! I just love the character profile features where you can build a fancy profile page for each of your characters and save these in an easy access character library. And while I haven't yet started role-playing here, I am pleased to see a nice variety of active role-playing forums. It has been a little while since I've involved myself in role-play, but I am so excited to bring my old characters out of retirement!
So what role-play settings/themes have y'all most enjoyed in your experience here and elsewhere? I've found myself to be most attracted to orphanages, prisons, and circuses. I used to enjoy the supernatural high school scene, but I've grown apart from that story line as I've aged. I generally pursue stories revolving around fantasy or supernatural themes, as most of my characters are of the werewolf/vampire/demon variety. I do have a shapeshifter and a raccoon-child too; they're more difficult to find role-plays for... Getting back on track though, I also think horror role-plays would be enjoyable, but I have yet to find one in which to participate. Have you any experience with this type of role-play?
Sorry for the lengthy comment, but I do have one more question before you leave me. Are most of the role-plays here of a free-roam sort or do you frequently see semi-guided role-plays which follow a host's story line? I have only ever participated in one role-play with a guided story line, and it died fairly quickly...but it was really cool while it lasted. All of my other role-plays have been of the free-roam variety. I would really like to find another structured role-play with an intricate story line that might be packed with surprises.
