This Looking For RP topic is marked as closed, meaning it is no longer seeking new players.

Greetings, travelers! I’ve decided to bring my own home-crafted world to RPR. While there still are a lot of elements still in progress (legally or otherwise), what I have established is a wide open world, connected to all others in the Infiniverse, but that’s for later. For now, the first true adventure, brought to life by the people of RPR, shall begin here! It begins as follows;

You and a few others are traveling through the Veronar forest, just south of the great city of Athelon when your caravan is attacked by bandits. Most are left for dead, but a few prisoners are taken back to their campsite. You are among the dead, but you still live, thanks to a healing potion sitting next to you. With nowhere else to go, you continue to Athelon, with hope of a new life.

You don’t have to follow that storyline, if you choose not to. Whether you are attacked by bandits, questing through the Athon mountains, or stalking the rich in Athelon, the first adventure of Atrana begins now!
Magic 90%
Magic is very common. Magic-tech, grand floating islands, forests that sing, magical creatures may be an every-day occurrence.
Technology 20%
Iron age
Combat 40%
Unrest may be part of the setting, but any scenes that happen to involve combat may be summarized.

Details: Freeform, adjustable length posts, long-term RP partner preferred.

((Did I mention that you can play as any race, from any time? Thank the Infiniverse for that one.))
I'm interested in this, but I am unsure as to what we would do? Or how the world works either.

The world is one of magic and technology, of Risen Gods and Fallen Lords, of war and peace, and of the mortal realm and beyond.

Basically, it’s sort of an Elder Scrolls/D&D/My imagination kind of thing.

The adventure I have in mind is the first of its kind, and the current template for the future of Itara; The Great Incursion, a massive-scale invasion sent from the deepest pits of the Netherworld, under the command of the Great Eye of Netharan, the Enemy of Light. Depending on how your character (individually, of course) wants to play this, multiple paths can be taken; will you be the savior of this world beyond worlds? Will you try to take command for yourself? Or will you watch as the world burns in the Second Scorching of Netharan? The choice is yours.

Any character is allowed to play, though those from Sci-Fi, Modern, or Horror genres may have a harder time fitting in, as Itara is mostly Fantasy-Oriented. But don’t let that stop you, if you want to use them.

The world is a freeformed plane, with magic influencing the lives of the people. An abundance of races inhabit the continents of Itara, with the main divisions being Men, Elves, and Dwarves, though sub-divisions of these exist as well.

Sorry for the long post; I’m just really excited to share this with people. All of it is either original or adapted from other stories in a legal transformation.
It really sounds interesting. Similar to an idea of my own, but also vastly different.

So another question, would a dragon be a good character? A dragon whom sits by and only defends herself against intruders, hunters and the like. I think personally it would be a good fit. You could check the characters sheet, Idura, on my profile if you'd like to be sure it would fit.

And it's okay, I can understand your excitement, I would be glad to play through this.

Dragons are quite common in Itara, both good and evil, so your dragon character would fit in well. I would like to see where this leads.
Alright awesome! Should we go to Pm or make another forum for a group?
Arcol Topic Starter

I was going to see if we had other people interested, but I guess you can send me a PM to discuss characters/details. I will post a forum in the Fantasy genre, but I would like to wait for a few more players before beginning in full, if that’s alright with you.
That's fine with me, I'll pm you to discuss those things, as you mentioned.

((Still looking for more players.))
Ellorae Vintalia (played by Hetori)

I'm willing to join, if it's still available

((The more the merrier! Welcome aboard!))
Gus

I find this very interesting. I think I'd rather make a new character for it, rather than try and incorporate personal backstory into a different world.
If folks are going down the bandit-escapees route, I was thinking perhaps playing as one of the bandits (either turned-good or fulfilling their part of a don't-kill-me deal).
A goblin or similar would be fun, though how it fits with the dragon I'm not sure- but I guess that's something to work out in plotting.
I'd be interested in joining in if you've still got room!

To Gus;
Freedom is part of the world, so I have no objections to any new characters, be they bandit, goblin, or dragon.
To Renna;
Of course, welcome aboard. One more person should do the trick.
Interested, though I haven't decided what character I want to play yet! :)

Maybe Dulirn, a wizard. What's the general "feel" of magic in your game? D&D-ish?
Arcol Topic Starter

It is like D&D, but more freestyled, as anything else would ruin the roleplay.
Dulirn (played by Juls)

I'll try Dulirn then, if you're good with it. :) His magic is more inspired by Dungeon Crawl Classics... where magic is always dangerous and not always predictable in its results, but I'll try to fit the feel of whatever is established in the game.

Sounds good. I’ve already uploaded the forum to the Fantasy area, so we’ll start as soon as possible.
Cool. I saw the thread. Should we wait until you set the scene or jump right in?
