I’ve been on this site for a year a few weeks ago, and I wanted to make a post!

A year ago I was completely different. Looks, personality, habits and everything. My characters were too! And it’s insane how quickly I and they changed.

I remember that I was sitting on the couch, my first and only RP friend had stopped seeming so kind in my mind, and I had begun separating myself from her. But I quickly realized that I... Was bored. I had almost no friends, and an overactive mind.

I searched up on google “good Rping sites” and scrolled for only one page of search results. I found some unprofessional looking site that had been abandoned almost completely for some time. I didn’t like it, and so I didn’t try it. I went back to searching and a little bit later, I saw this site. The title intrigued me, and I clicked.

The colours were warm, the slogans were sweet and the art was awesome. I clicked around the forums maybe twice before I made my account. The community was new, so very kind and I felt invited. It took me a while to get used to everything, but once I did I felt awesome.

I made a friend right off the bat, and we still have rps to this day. My style went from skype one liners and * to fully formed paragraphs and characters.

I grew as a person, a friend, a writer and creator. It was instantly the best RP experiences I’ve ever had. I talk to one friend from here daily, and three others as much as I can.

I love this site, I recommend it to every rp’er I meet, and I’ve gotten a few to make accounts and start.

It’s just, awesome!

How about you guys? How did you find the site?
That's awesome...I'm so happy that things changed so much for the better for you in just one year. I'm also glad, because I think your writing is unique and gritty and sort of mind-bending, I feel lucky to experience it. It's incredibly hard to believe you were doing one-liner RPs just a year ago. What? No way. Anyway glad to partake in the joy of writing with you, even if I'm not as consistent as some people who can post daily.

Ok...but anyway...

I found it on Google too, looking for a place to roleplay certain things for emotional catharsis reasons or something like that. I have made many friends who I think are creative geniuses and have be honored to share stories from life with ppl and have them tell me their stories and get to know them.
That's what i did. i Org wannated to find a place to put my book that i was writing and maybe have a partner to help me with it. Since coming here I;ve meet some really cool and awesome people. Love it here.

Goggle and erratic sleep patterns. After a day and night of overtime. That's how I found Kim's beautiful community.
I was on a different role playing site before here. Then the site I was using shut down and all my friends gave up on role playing so I had to find a new site. Then I came across this place after googling for a bit. Then jumped straight into it (I honestly don’t even think I made an introduction xd)

I forgot to add this

Hah, it's been so long I can't... entirely recall the specifics. RPR was very new at this point, and not many people used it yet. But it was this Whispered Rumour on Furcadia, if I recall. As a means to replace peoples webs.com profile sites.

Kim started hanging around my dinky little drow-themed dream; it was small but for a short time pretty active, with about six or seven unique players (that's active for me). None of them used RPR (I think I managed to convince three to switch from their webs.com sites), and I can't recall if I got into RPR... because of Kim or if Kim found the dream... because I joined RPR. My group fizzled out not long after that. This was around 2010.

I've had varying waves of activity; I only tend to poke around again if I'm active in a Furc RP and thus have reason to be on the site updating my profiles. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Someone whom I RP'd with on a Tolkien site a couple years ago showed up on that site and posted a link in the forum.there with the link saying they found a really cool RP site. Wasn't wrong.
I found by googling 'character sheet and rp writing site' and joined on

June 23rd 2016, 11:41pm according to my account info.

I did take a break around... The beginning of 2017 or so, and returned around the fall of 2017 and have not left since. :)

I think I used to have an account way before 2016 but never did anything with it because when I came here and tried my email it said I already had an account, so I logged in and deleted it, and then made a new one that I actually was familiar with lmao.

I had rped only once before with a friend years before, so I was fairly new to rp but not to writing in general. Took me a bit to find the right people to write with and figure out my prefered writing style and what not.
I...um...hahah, my story's a little embarrassing. I help run another RP site with a pretty decently sized player base, but due to our forum host's policy we had to enact a blanket ban on NSFW content, with no way to really confine such content to age-locked forums like the RPR can do here.

A friend of mine found this place and its' policy on such content, from PM's to the ability to make your own group forums, and he linked me, to get my thoughts, and to help him experiment with his forums to see if he could figure out how to manage them. And, well, I've stuck around and explored this unique setup, gotten into a few PM RP's, leading to my presence here. XD
I was on a different site, Quotev.com for a little bit when I did a quiz and met someone on there. They had characters and I said they might be a good RPer and they said they were. They too me about RPR and were the first person I RPed with. We are still close friends and love this site so much, pretty good place
October 7th, 2011. Wow.

I've been an avid Furcadia writer for years and years. When you click on a character, a player-made description pops up, and most of these descs have links out to reference pictures. I remember finding more and more descs instead featuring links to RPR character profiles. They were so clean and concise, but also left boundless room for customization, description, gallery images, themes. I was blown away. It was all so easy to use, I got hooked quick. RPR has been my RP home base ever since! I still do most of my writing on Furc, but for a long while- when I was in the military and didn't have time to write live- I only did forum or PM scenes here.
September 4th 2011, 9:46pm. I'm an old fart.

A group of friends and I were RPing on other places and across a wide variety of sites and formats - to the point where we needed something external to keep everything organized and on-track. A lot of us were putting together reference site after reference site, but routinely hitting each free host's various limitations. (Webs was one. Charahub might have popped up around this time, too).

One friend at the time - who on retrospect had likely found it in Furcadia as well - had started using it for one of her characters, and it looked so painless and appealing that I'd followed her here. And the rest, as they say...

At various times I've drifted in and out and away to imitators, but I've always come back - figuring if I'd toss money anywhere to add characters and things, I'd rather give it to this ragtag and goodhearted little site.

My webs had been deleted and I was tired of dealing with weebly or whatever it was called. I saw Kim around Furc and caught the link in a few descs.

I joined up after that.

I used to be a frequent roleplayed on Furcadia since I was 14 or 15 or so. That's where I briefly met Kim and even commissioned her for artwork when she was still drawing pixel art! In 2010 I saw more and more people using RPR and decided to join in June, a few months after the site was launched. :D I've been here ever since! Made some of the best friends in my life, met some people in person and I've no desire to leave here anytime soon lol.
If I recall correctly, I actually joined the site around 2009 or 2010. Way early, and with a different account (that has since been deleted by request). I can't remember the month -- September sounds right. But, I do remember that I found RPR because a commissioner at the time linked me RPR profiles that they and their friends used, and it piqued my interest.

I didn't use RPR much back then because I was still doing deviantART competition groups and forgot. I forgot too often and eventually just forgot that I even had account. I made this new one February 19th 2015, 9:17pm.

I ended up stumbling on my old account a couple years ago by using RPR's search feature to see how many other characters existed that shared the same name as mine (or at least were similar). I was surprised that I found my old account -- more so that I remembered my password for it to request it be deleted (because I couldn't find where to do just that).

Wow, didn’t know I joined that long ago.

I was using freewebs at the time, with a brief stint of wix that took forever to load on my computer. Kept seeing this site pop up in peope’s descs on Furcadia, so I eventually got one too- I think the ability of character connections was really helped make me sign up. Now I can’t imagine rping without it.

I remember seeing it popping up slowly but surely in people's descriptions on Furcadia and I didn't have anywhere to host my character sites because Wix just wouldn't work with my slow internet at the time. I haven't left since.
oh, realized I forgot to include my join date, hahah

Like a few others, I primarily rp via Furcadia. When I'd first started there, webs and wix had been the 'thing' people did for character profiles. Eventually, webs and wix went down/ went to the dogs, and a lot of the work I'd put into character profiles was lost.

I started to see links to the RPR in Furcadia descriptions not long after and suffice to say, I was curious. The layout was easy to navigate, the UI was intuitive, and customization was a lot better than webs or wix could hope for. So I signed up, and it's been a joy since. I honestly don't think I could use another character profile site if I tried.

All I really can say is that I got sent here by a friend.

This place has really helped me grow as a person. :)
