Hello everyone. I created a forum and the role play is really picking up. I would like to make a website for it but cannot find any really good ones that are free. I could use some advice on which free site builders I should use.

My advice would be to use the Group feature here on RPR.

Groups here have their own forums, you can create pages, and determine rules and applications.

RPR already provides everything you need in the sense of a "Website"

However, if you're looking to really fully separate yourself or your RP from RPR, then I could easily suggest Proboards and Enjin as sources of website building without the need to pay for anything. Both are very customizable, free, and have their own built in forums that you can full customize as well. They are far more advanced in customization and building than RPR is, and I recommend giving it full test runs and really digging in to their features before attempting a website with them, but my number one recommendation is definitely going to remain with making a group on RPR.

Oh cool I did not know they had one here. How do I find it?
Here, take a look through these pages. They should answer most of your questions. :)

If you still have questions after, of course, feel free to ask further!

Thanks. I got a group started now. I have one last question. Is there a way to link a already made and used forum to the group?

..
Do you mean having a topic transferred from the public forums into the group? That's... probably actually a big, messy thing to attempt, but it might be possible. If so, I think the only one who could make that kind of move would be the admin, Kim.

I'd say go ahead and use this form, change the drop-down to "question," and ask her there. Explain what you'd like and ask if it's something that can reasonably be done. My guess will be no, but it's still worth asking.

If not, you can just put links on a page in the group to the topic, and in the first/last post of the topic to the group. It's not pretty, but it works, and it's probably the easiest thing for everyone.

If it's something you have in PMs... then your best best is probably to create a thread in the group and copy/paste stuff over manually. If that's what it ends up being, there are ways to make the process a little less tedious.

I was going to say that Kim has done this quite happily for people in the past, and it shouldn't be too much trouble for her as far as I know. :) Be sure to include the topic URL so she can do it right away if she still does this!

Just make sure you get the opinions of everyone involved in the RP. Some people might not want or be okay with this sudden change.

I have a question. Under the group edit tool, it says you can reorder forums by clicking then moving them. There is no way found to click them that allows me to move them. I just want to reorder the forums.

I believe what you do is click and hold them while you move? That is how it's most commonly done on most forum sites and how you move widgets around on a character profile page.

Basically, click, and don't let go of the click until you have moved it to where you want it to go.

That's exactly it! Click and drag. :) This may not work on mobile, however.

Yeah I am on mobile phone and it doesn't work. No worries though.
