I'm so addicted to chat on RpR. Oof. It gets way too quiet at this time, and although I should be doing one of 5 or 6 other things...I'm gonna make a survey. For other bored folks. Here you go.

Ok!

1. What is the most distant country you've RP'd with someone from?

I've roleplayed or talked OOC with people from the U.K., S. Africa, the Netherlands, Malaysia, and the Czech Republic, which I think is amazing.

2. What is your favorite genre?

Romance

3. What is your favorite hobby aside from writing?

Definitely singing karaoke. Hands down. It's my favorite thing.

4. What is a word you tend to misspell a lot? (none is a valid answer, but I won't believe you!)

I used to misspell "maybe" all the time and spell it "mabey." I go through all my journals from when I was a teenager and "mabey" is all over!

Without autocorrect or something like it saving me, I cannot seem to correctly spell "received" or "surprised" or "exercise." Which I tend to spell "recieved," (a common mistake that autocorrect takes care of already), "suprised" (I leave out one of the "r's"), and "excersize" (it's like...how it there no "z" in exercise?!).

What kind of intelligence is most dominate for you (ex. verbal, mathematical, visual-spatial, musical, social intelligence, etc)?

Definitely verbal. I'm verbally intelligent. I can remember conversations with great detail years later. However, I will walk into people, run over curbs, misjudge and run into a corner of a shelf at the supermarket, and get lost twice on my way home from work sometimes because I forget to turn. So...I'm not the most visually-spacially intelligent person.

I am ok at math, and good at music. The social part of my brain is definitely missing a few neurons, or something, and my theory is they got repurposed for verbal intelligence. Or something.

So yes, it's verbal for me.

6. Do you like rollercoasters (a measure of thrill-seeking)?

Rollercoasters are my nemesis. I despise them. If I ride even one that children think is fun, I am terrified I'm going to fly out and scared I'm gonna die in that moment! So no! Lol

7. What do you think the most beneficial medication to have ever been discovered is?

It's a tie between Aspirin and Penicillin. I'm also fond of SSRIs.

8. What's your favorite accent to hear someone speak with?

I love hearing people from Ireland talk or sing, especially women. The lovely lilting accent; it's so beautiful! Second favorite, probably the Australian accent. :-D

9. What's something stupid you've done?

Um...propose roleplays that are so overplanned the other person doesn't want to do them by the time the planning is over, because it took or long, or something.

10. What's a rather unusual thing you like?

Just one? No...

70's folk music, sitting in my car for hours listening to NPR (a news radio show), ASMR! Giving and receiving virtual hugs (it's a little weird, I admit it...I'm over the top with it), Star Trek, Seal Maiden: A Celtic Musical, making surveys, sequin pillows that change colors when you brush your hand over them...I could go on and on, but I'll just stop there.

11. Think about your favorite roleplaying partners. What quality makes them your favorite?

Graciousness

"Gracious (adj) - courteous, kind, and pleasant."

12. What's your favorite sport to watch?

Basketball (although I don't really like watching sports much)

Unless ice skating counts. But I see that as more of an art, like dancing.

13. What's your favorite sport to play?

Basketball (although, again, it's not like I do, but if I do, that's my favorite).

14. What is one thing people that makes you uncomfortable?

Not be very talkative when I'm in close proximity to them

15. What's one thing people do that makes you feel comfortable?

People who talk without you having to draw them out, just talk because they're naturally talkative. Be extroverts.

16. What's your favorite nonsense word?

Superkalifragilisticexpialidochous

;)

17. What's your favorite actual word?

Lately, my favorite word is "poignant."

18. What's a favorite quote?

(I have a few)

"It's a bittersweet symphony, that's life" - a song, I forget who sings it.

"Interested is interesting" - my best friend says this. It's from a movie.

"Believing the sky is green doesn't stop it from being blue."

"There's nothing to it, but to do it." - this is a quote from a body-builder, about motivation

"Today is the first day of the rest of your life." - I don't remember

"But the tigers come at night, with their voices soft as thunder..." - Les Mis

19. Who is the best songwriter of all time, in your opinion?

Billy Joel or Carole King

Also... possibly Prince.

He wrote some songs people don't even realize, like the song "Nothing Compares To You," performed by Sinead O'Connor.

20. Is Schrodinger's cat alive, dead, both, or neither?

Oh boy, did I really make up this question? Ok...the old metaphysics question. I believe that the cat is, in fact, either alive or dead, regardless of whether any ever opens the box or not...I don't believe the cat exists in some of state where it is both or neither, just because no one has observed it. I don't believe something has to be known in order for it to be real, like some people believe. For example, some people believe we live in a computer simulation, like the Matrix. I don't believe that.

21. Do you believe there is such a thing as destiny?

Yes. But I don't think it's necessarily written in stone. I believe in free-will too.

22. Which is better, to be likeable or to be authentic?

Sometimes I think it's better to be likeable. If I had the ability to be likeable (yet basically fake) and not be authentic, I might take it. But I can't, it's impossible. I'm not socially skilled enough. I can only be my awkward self. I can't figure out what people want fast enough to pretend to be something I'm not in order to give it to them, even when I want to.

23. If you could change one thing in the world...

I would make it to where everyone can go through life with a small group of people that stick together through thick and thin, no matter where life takes them. A community, because the dissolving of communities from frequent relocation is what's wrong with the modern world -- community is what we've lost. It's why everyone feels so isolated. It's why so many people don't know their worth. When before, they would have.
(yay for not being able to sleep i'm definitely doing this)

1. What is the most distant country you've RP'd with someone from?

I think Turkey was the farthest. Fun story, too!

2. What is your favorite genre?

It's a mix of fantasy and romance, especially the angsty kind. Who doesn't like a slow-burn romance while slaying dragons?

3. What is your favorite hobby aside from writing?

Decorating / making things pretty. Does that count? If I can fill it up and make it more pleasing to the eye, I'm probably already doing it.

4. What is a word you tend to misspell a lot? (none is a valid answer, but I won't believe you!)

A lot. Not "a lot" itself as a phrase, but a lot of words. My responses can take a bit because I'm constantly peering through to find any spelling errors I missed. "Scour" is a big one.

5.) What kind of intelligence is most dominate for you (ex. verbal, mathematical, visual-spatial, musical, social intelligence, etc)?

I think it might be social intelligence. I've been told throughout my life I have a "way" with interactions and talking to people. My last job, I was slapped up at the counter for it. Rough, but I took it as a compliment. I'm actually pretty shy but I can come out of my bubble if need be.

6. Do you like rollercoasters (a measure of thrill-seeking)?

YES. I will ride any coaster, anywhere. (Except ones that look rickety.) I'm not surprised, I'd like to go skydiving.

7. What do you think the most beneficial medication to have ever been discovered is?
I don't know enough about medicine to give an informed answer, but from my personal experience, anything that relieves cramp and headache pain.

8. What's your favorite accent to hear someone speak with?
French or Persian. I will die

9. What's something stupid you've done?

I tried to "borrow" my mom's car to get to a friend's house in high school. I didn't have my license or a permit at the time. No, I didn't make it, and no, I wasn't allowed to drive for a while.

10. What's a rather unusual thing you like?

Reading other people's handwritten notes. Some of them are very pleasing to the eye. Here is one such example! I think it has to do with my desire to make anything pretty or visually appealing.

11. Think about your favorite roleplaying partners. What quality makes them your favorite?

They have been very understanding of how hectic my life can be and do not pressure me into immediate responses. I think that might be "patience?" But it doesn't feel right to just call it that.

12. What's your favorite sport to watch?

Esports. (Fighting game tournaments, LoL, Overwatch until recently)

13. What's your favorite sport to play?

I'm terrible at it but Volleyball. I like kicking off my flip-flops, digging my toes in the sand, and getting a good spike. Which is never, tbh.

14. What is one thing people that makes you uncomfortable?

Please don't touch my hair if I don't know you. Weird request, but this happens more often than you might think. Someone will comment on how long my hair is and try to touch it even if we don't know each other. I know it's supposed to be a compliment, but I like my personal space.

15. What's one thing people do that makes you feel comfortable?

Smiling and laughing while talking to me. It makes me feel like you're engaged and enjoying our interaction!

16. What's your favorite nonsense word?

"Wowza."

17. What's your favorite actual word?

sau·da·de (Portuguese)
noun
a feeling of longing, melancholy, or nostalgia that is supposedly characteristic of the Portuguese or Brazilian temperament.

Saudade is a deep emotional state of nostalgic or profound melancholic longing for an absent something or someone that one loves. Moreover, it often carries a repressed knowledge that the object of longing might never return.

18. What's a favorite quote?

"Pride is not the opposite of shame, but its source. True humility is the only antidote to shame." - Uncle Iroh

19. Who is the best songwriter of all time, in your opinion?

I cannot answer this.

20. Is Schrodinger's cat alive, dead, both, or neither?

I... neither?

21. Do you believe there is such a thing as destiny?

I think you write your own.

22. Which is better, to be likable or to be authentic?

This is tough because I feel like no matter who you are or how you act, there are going to be people who will just never like you. That was definitely one of the harder life lessons I had to learn. But at the same time, when do you know when your own behaviors and actions are problematic?

I'm going to say it's a delicate balance of both. Be authentic, but know when you have something problematic you need to work out.

23. If you could change one thing in the world...

Less serious answer:
Change something in Pibb's formula so it isn't absolutely terrible for you. I only drink it on my cheat day but until then I drink carbonated water to sate the "bubbles" fix.

Something a little more grave:
Spread a little more sympathy and empathy throughout the world. Solving everyone's problems just isn't possible because some situations aren't black and white. Let people see the perspective of the other side. Let them feel compassion for their suffering.

This was fun, thank you for something insightful to pass the time. ♥

1. What is the most distant country you've RP'd with someone from?

Hmm.... would have to measure. When I was in Seattle I RP'd with people in Finland, Australia the UK, South America. Now that I'm in Australia, I would have to say that Denmark is the furthest from me, or the east coast of the USA.

2. What is your favorite genre?

I'll say Fantasy as it covers my Black Company and Lord of the Rings fandom, and even the modern ones I do are fantasy really.

3. What is your favorite hobby aside from writing?

Wargaming (old school tabletop board games ala Squad Leader)

4. What is a word you tend to misspell a lot?

Mis-spell as in writing or in typing? I mistype so many words on my phone my autocorrect gets confused. I used to mis-spell 'Friend' getting the 'e' and 'i' reversed. Same with science. The whole 'i before e except after c' can be misleading.

What kind of intelligence is most dominate for you (ex. verbal, mathematical, visual-spatial, musical, social intelligence, etc)?

6. Do you like rollercoasters (a measure of thrill-seeking)?

Used to. Haven't been on one in years.

7. What do you think the most beneficial medication to have ever been discovered is?

It's a tie between Aspirin and Penicillin.

8. What's your favorite accent to hear someone speak with?

I like hearing English with a French accent, and a second is English with an Eastern European (Czech, Serbian, Ukrainian, Russian) accent, especialy women.

9. What's something stupid you've done?

I could pick several things from my youth. One would be climbing the watertower that was a few blocks from the house I grew up in with a six pack of beer. It was an open steel ladder going up one of the legs so there was a slight incline to it. The rungs were the size of one's little finger and it was only about 18 inches wide. By carrying a six pack, it took one of your hands so you had to work the ladder very carefully. It was when you got way up there the ladder straightened to a 90° angle to get to the walkway around the tank. Gravity angle changes and you felt it pulling you back away from the ladder with each step until you got on the straight part. Almost lost my grip with the one hand and nearly let the beer go to grab on with both hands. I didn't though, and we made it and enjoyed our beers at a very high place.

Then there was the time I jumped my sister's Chevy Vega off the road at about sixty miles an hour. In my old late fifties Ford, it was heavy enough to just stretch the springs when the road descended suddenly down a, 18% grade. The Vega was light as, and I hit it at the same speed I'd hit it with my ford and it went straight out and all I saw was sky. It came down hard and bounced the springs and went right back up off the road. It finally came back down to the road for good about half way down. Me and my friend were scared shitless. Then there was this time....

10. What's a rather unusual thing you like?

I should let my wife answer this one. If I have to pick one thing I'd say dressing up in medieval garb and going to medieval banquets and faires. I even considered joining the New Varangian Guard once but wearing battle-grade armour is pretty damn hard, let alone bashing each other with axes and swords.

11. Think about your favorite roleplaying partners. What quality makes them your favorite?

Graciousness

"Gracious (adj) - courteous, kind, and pleasant."
I had to leave Abi's answer. They are the best.

They actually play the game hard in Rugby, whereas there is so much showboating during the huge amounts of play stoppages in NFL.

13. What's your favorite sport to play?

I never was much of a sport. I played ice hockey for a bit, but this wiry skinny kid would get killed in th eboards by the bigger guys. I did a little track in High School. If hiking and mountain climbing is a sport, that is what I do.

14. What is one thing people do that makes you uncomfortable?

Smoke cigarettes.

15. What's one thing people do that makes you feel comfortable?

Share the joint.

You're quite welcome, and thank you for doing it. Your answers are also insightful. I loved reading that...

I learned a new word, "Saudade."
And that word kind of reminds me of my favorite word lately, which is "poignant!"). That definition for "Saudade..." *clutches heart* It's like...*ring, ring* "Can we have that word in English, please? Merriam-Webster? Please?"

LOL

And I liked your quote. And the thing you would change about the world. (Both things, actually. Can we also get sugar free Dr. Pepper that tastes good? Haha. I crave carbonation too. I like lime flavored Perrier water but it's a bit pricey.)

But especially the serious thing, and the way you described it.

And decorating/making things pretty definitely counts as a hobby! I need some of that magic at my house haha.

No, but, just random side thought, I once tried to define masculine and feminine...figure out what, to me, is the difference between those two things and although it's hard to figure out, in my mind, at least, decorativeness (if that's a word) is one of the things, to me, that is quintessentially feminine. But that's a whole other subject! Thanks for the food for thought.

End all war.

I really enjoyed this.

The stories from your youth are interesting! Now I want drink beer at the top of a water tower. (Don't worry...don't worry...I won't.)

It reminds me of when I was a kid and I would hop on the train as it went by behind our apt complex. I'd just ride a little ways and jump off, for fun. But then, once, I jumped off, and I was able a foot away from the drop, where the train goes over a little bridge over a dried up Creek. If I had jumped one second later, I would have fallen at least 20 feet and probably broken a leg or a foot. Needless to say, I didn't hop the train after that. Scared me straight!

And gotta love sufferinsuccotash

...........oh! And...I'm sorry, did you say music? Dunedain Ranger...what do you play?! Or what do you do musically? I am curious.

And, your wife? I didn't even know you're married. I should really talk to people more. Glad you filled this out!

Oh and dressing up medeival...that's a neat hobby. We love going to our local Renassaince Faire. The first time I went to one I was so amazed.

Thanks for the food for thought!
1. What is the most distant country you've RP'd with someone from?

I believe Japan

2. What is your favorite genre?

I’m a sucker for any kind of romance, and also anything dark and gritty. Give me a modern romance with lots of dysfunction and I’m sold.

3. What is your favorite hobby aside from writing?

Reading or listening to music.

4. What is a word you tend to misspell a lot?

License and also definitely. Thank the Lord for spell check :)

5. What kind of intelligence is most dominate for you (ex. verbal, mathematical, visual-spatial, musical, social intelligence, etc)?

HAH! Definitely not mathematical. I think interpersonal...understanding people’s feelings and motives.

6. Do you like rollercoasters (a measure of thrill-seeking)?

Yes! I haven’t ridden one in years though.

7. What do you think the most beneficial medication to have ever been discovered is?

Probably Penicillin

8. What's your favorite accent to hear someone speak with?

I really like Irish and Australian accents.

9. What's something stupid you've done?

Honestly I’ve always played it really safe, so I don’t have any crazy stories. I have made some really stupid decisions in regards to relationships and such though.

10. What's a rather unusual thing you like?

I really like to cry and feel things.

11. Think about your favorite roleplaying partners. What quality makes them your favorite?

Being a nice conversationalist.

12. What's your favorite sport to watch?

Baseball, my husband and I are huge Cubs fans.

13. What's your favorite sport to play?

I played softball when I was a kid and really enjoyed that, but I really don’t like playing any now.

14. What is one thing people do that makes you uncomfortable?

Giving unsolicited advice to strangers. Also, when people try and touch peoples babies! No body wants your germy hands or face close to their baby’s weakened immune system......rant over.

15. What's one thing people do that makes you feel comfortable?

Love each other.

16. What's your favorite nonsense word?

Whatshisface

17. What's your favorite actual word?

Cahoots

18. What's a favorite quote?

“Now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story which no one on earth has read: which goes on for ever: in which every chapter is better than the one before.” - C.S. Lewis, The Last Battle

“Whatever souls are made of, his and mine are the same” - Emily Bronte, Wuthering Heights

19. Who is the best songwriter of all time, in your opinion?

Bob Dylan

20. Is Schrodinger's cat alive, dead, both, or neither?

I mean at this point he’s certainly dead.

21. Do you believe there is such a thing as destiny?

I believe in a lot of romantic ideals, but not destiny.

22. Which is better, to be likeable or to be authentic?

Authentic for sure.

23. If you could change one thing in the world...

Allow everyone to feel empathy and compassion for others.
1. What is the most distant country you've RP'd with someone from?

I'm a bit unsure about this one but if I had to say it would be either the UK or possibly Australia.

2. What is your favorite genre?

If were talking RP it would be romance for me. Now for books I loathe romance but I really like fantasy, murder-mystery, horror, and dystopian.

3. What is your favorite hobby aside from writing?

Reading is a big one but I also like drawing, fishing, sleeping (which technically isn't a hobby but I can count it as one, right?)

4. What is a word you tend to misspell a lot?

Surprise for sure, I always forget the first r. Definitely and experience also seem to be a couple of big ones.

5. What kind of intelligence is most dominate for you (ex. verbal, mathematical, visual-spatial, musical, social intelligence, etc)?

For me it's a tie up between visual-spatial and naturalist.

6. Do you like rollercoasters (a measure of thrill-seeking)?

No. The high speed is frightening and so are the sharp twist and turn. And it doesn't help any that they make me sick. Same goes for large water slides.

7. What do you think the most beneficial medication to have ever been discovered is?

I'm not sure, medications aren't something I'm very familiar with.

8. What's your favorite accent to hear someone speak with?

Irish and Southern are the big two but I also like British, Australian and Russian.

9. What's something stupid you've done?

So I used to have a little Saturn car and I would drive it to my uncles so we could carpool to work together in his work van. After working all day we got back around 6 and I got in the car to leave but it wouldn't start. I tries four or five times before I told them what was going on and they came over, checking under the hood to see what was wrong to find nothing. Well it turns out that I never put it into park, only neutral when I shut it off in the morning. So there's that XD

10. What's a rather unusual thing you like?

Eating potatoes with barbecue sauce. That along with the smell of a new book.

11. Think about your favorite roleplaying partners. What quality makes them your favorite?

They're easy for me to talk to. I don't have the best of social skills and being social with strangers gives me some slight anxiety so this is a big one for me.

12. What's your favorite sport to watch?

Baseball at live events, volleyball, and equestrian (which totally counts by the way)

13. What's your favorite sport to play?

Volleyball. I'm too short to spike, a tad to slow to bit the ball when it's spiked to me, but I can serve pretty well.

14. What is one thing people do that makes you uncomfortable?

Touching me. If I don't initiate it then no touchy. Another thing would have to be when they try to make me talk to them. If I don't answer the first time or do so halfheartedly then I'm not comfortable speaking to you in that moment.

15. What's one thing people do that makes you feel comfortable?

They don't force conversation! Just sitting in silence with someone that I like is enough for me. Among other things I also like when they swear. It may sound a little weird but when they swear it makes me feel like I'm more welcome and am able to speak without having to watch my mouth too closely.

16. What's your favorite nonsense word?

It's too inappropriate for me to say on a public forum XD

17. What's your favorite actual word?

Chrysanthemum

18. What's a favorite quote?

"The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched- they must be felt with the heart."- Helen Keller

"Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it."- Charles R. Swindoll

"The saddest thing about betrayal is that it never comes from enemies, it comes from those you trust the most."- XXXTentacion

19. Who is the best songwriter of all time, in your opinion?

There are so many out there across all the genres that I love so I don't think I can give a straight answer.

20. Is Schrodinger's cat alive, dead, both, or neither?

Schrodinger's cat? Indent even know what this is...

21. Do you believe there is such a thing as destiny?

I'm unsure. It may or may not exist so if it does, cool, but if not that's cool too.

22. Which is better, to be likeable or to be authentic?

Authentic. You have to be true to you and I'd much rather refer that than to have everyone like you.

23. If you could change one thing in the world...

People need to be nicer in general and be less judgmental on factors like race and sexuality. People can't help it so why be rude?
1. What is the most distant country you've RP'd with someone from?

I'm not sure which is actually furthest from where I am since I don't have a globe on hand, but I've RPed with people from Russia, Australia, and Romania, to name a few. also, just a friendly correction, it's spelled the Czech Republic

2. What is your favorite genre?

I am quite fond of science fantasy.

3. What is your favorite hobby aside from writing?

Playing video games, especially RPGs.

4. What is a word you tend to misspell a lot? (none is a valid answer, but I won't believe you!)

I tend to be great at spelling, but I make typos a lot. Something I genuinely misspell sometimes, though, is advertise and its derivatives. I keep trying to spell it with a z.

What kind of intelligence is most dominate for you (ex. verbal, mathematical, visual-spatial, musical, social intelligence, etc)?

If you'd asked me a couple years ago, I would have said probably mathematical. Now, after struggling with calculus and even failing it once, I'm not so sure, haha.

6. Do you like rollercoasters (a measure of thrill-seeking)?

Not in the slightest. When I was young, I banged my head on something while on a roller coaster and proceeded to vomit all over the park. Can't even look at one without getting nauseous now.

7. What do you think the most beneficial medication to have ever been discovered is?

Objectively, penicillin. For me, either SSRIs or gabapentin.

8. What's your favorite accent to hear someone speak with?

Gosh, I really have no idea. My mind's coming up blank when I try to recall the various accents I've heard, sorry...

9. What's something stupid you've done?

Trust someone and try to be friends with them after they did something so bad I called the police on them for fear of my safety.

10. What's a rather unusual thing you like?

I'm a cosplayer, though my fiancée is the one who actually makes them as I have no skill with crafts.

11. Think about your favorite roleplaying partners. What quality makes them your favorite?

Willingness to collaborate instead of making one person drive the show by themselves, unless it's a roleplay with a set GM, in which case it's the ability to be a team player instead of trying to be the protagonist.

12. What's your favorite sport to watch?

I find sports to be dreadfully boring. I'll watch the Olympics sometimes, but then it's more about the spectacle than the sports.

13. What's your favorite sport to play?

None. I dislike physical activity. I used to like swimming, but now I have bad memories associated with it, plus I'm too self-conscious to wear a swimsuit where anyone else can see me.

14. What is one thing people that makes you uncomfortable?

Use mind-altering substances while I'm around. Or touch me.

15. What's one thing people do that makes you feel comfortable?

Respect my boundaries and let me know if they have any boundaries of their own.

16. What's your favorite nonsense word?

I had to sit and think about this one for a couple minutes, and I still couldn't come up with one...

17. What's your favorite actual word?

Shenanigans.

18. What's a favorite quote?

I don't really have one, but my dad's favorite thing to quote at me is from Yoda: "Do or do not, there is no try."

19. Who is the best songwriter of all time, in your opinion?

I haven't heard a big enough variety of music to answer this for all time, as I tend to stick within the genres I like. But within my range of known music, my official favorite band is Yes, which has put out songs written by a wide range of its members over the years.

20. Is Schrodinger's cat alive, dead, both, or neither?

While from a logical standpoint, the cat may seem to be either one or the other regardless of whether the box is opened, Schrödinger's cat is actually an extension of a certain phenomenon that occurs in one interpretation of quantum physics. When that phenomenon, which occurs normally at a quantum level, is extended to everyday macro scale things like a cat in a box, the cat is indeed both alive and dead until it is observed, at which point it becomes one or the other. Quantum physics is full of weird things like quantum superposition and, at a quantum level, whether something is observed or not really can have drastic effects on its state. And no, I didn't cheat and look this up in order to answer the question.

21. Do you believe there is such a thing as destiny?

Nope. I've thought long and hard about it over the course of my life, and if destiny as I understand it were to really exist, it would seem to preclude the existence of true free will, because no matter what you did you couldn't affect your life. If free will exists, which I believe both because evidence points towards it and for the sake of my mental health, then it would seem to preclude the existence of true destiny, because your actions affect your outcome.

22. Which is better, to be likeable or to be authentic?

Authenticity is better. Forcing oneself to act in a way that is against one's nature in order to make oneself more likable is to force oneself to be miserable.

23. If you could change one thing in the world...

I would find a way to end all manners of injustice without also interfering with people's free will.
Skrifa

1. What is the most distant country you've RP'd with someone from?

New Zealand, Australia, Germany, Finland, Norway...lots of places.

2. What is your favorite genre?

High fantasy.

3. What is your favorite hobby aside from writing?

Cosplaying/LARP (live action roleplay). It's so fun to be among other nerds. And there's such a joy to it, too, when you come upon children. Their reactions to seeing their favorite characters in real life are priceless. I love seeing them smile.

4. What is a word you tend to misspell a lot?

Nessecary. I can't. Figure. It. Out.

What kind of intelligence is most dominate for you (ex. verbal, mathematical, visual-spatial, musical, social intelligence, etc)?

Fandom. Once I fall into one, I become so invested that I learn every tiny little detail I possibly can.

6. Do you like rollercoasters (a measure of thrill-seeking)?

Uh, yes! Bring me to the biggest rollercoaster ya'll can find; I'll be in the line in a heartbeat!

7. What do you think the most beneficial medication to have ever been discovered is?

My allergy meds. Lord knows I'd never be able to step outside without them.

8. What's your favorite accent to hear someone speak with?

I have an obsession with Australian accents. (I blame my growing up on Crocodile Hunter and Crocodile Dundee.) Though I am also partial to Irish and Scottish.

9. What's something stupid you've done?

Oh boy, there's a lot. And no doubt there will be more. But I think my favorite is when I was thirteen or fourteen, when I was homeschooled. I was often shipped off to friend's houses while my parents worked, and there was this one family. Five kids and a whole lot of pets. The place was glorious. We would run around the backyard playing a game we called Old England. We got into it, too. I mean full on dress up, Elizabeth style gowns, tunics, boots, peasant blouses and gypsy skirts.

Well, with the outfits came weapons. Their family owned real medieval weapons. Lord of the Rings replica swords and knifes, a khopesh, battle axes - I'm not sure where they got this stuff, but it was amazing. I often played a princess gone rogue, and ran around with Aragorn's sword. Well, mind you, I'm tiny, and this thing literally came up to my chin. So I'm running around with a huge sword, through the woods, chasing after my friend. He suddenly rounds on me, and pulls out his own weapon, and we're fighting...next thing I know, I had stabbed myself in the foot. I had to get eight stitches.

And then there was another time when one of the girls shot her sister in the shoulder with a crossbow...honestly, my childhood was crazy.

10. What's a rather unusual thing you like?

My music. People think I'm crazy for loving German bands.

11. Think about your favorite roleplaying partners. What quality makes them your favorite?

Their willingness to put up with me. XD

12. What's your favorite sport to watch?

Skeleton, during the Winter Olympics. It looks so fun!

13. What's your favorite sport to play?

Fencing. I did it for a few years, but unfortunately had to quit when I damaged my shoulder.

14. What is one thing people do that makes you uncomfortable?

Anything that could really screw your life up. A lot of old friends have made terrible choices, and I worry for them.

15. What's one thing people do that makes you feel comfortable?

Telling me that they accept me and my weirdness.

16. What's your favorite nonsense word?

Cashnoitered

17. What's your favorite actual word?

Eunoia (n.): beautiful thinking, a well mind.

18. What's a favorite quote?

Now, you listen to me, James Hawkins. You got the makings of greatness in you, but you gotta take the helm and chart your own course! Stick to it, no matter the squalls! And when the time comes, you'll get the chance to really test the cut of your sails and show what you're made of! And... well, I hope I'm there, catching some of the light coming off you that day. - John Silver, Treasure Planet

19. Who is the best songwriter of all time, in your opinion?

I love Bon Jovi.

20. Is Schrodinger's cat alive, dead, both, or neither?

Uhhhhh. I may have to PM that reply to you, because I'll end up having an essay here. XD

21. Do you believe there is such a thing as destiny?

Ehhhh...not exactly. I don't think there is a single, set path. Rather, there are multiple paths that we take at crossroads. So, partially, but not really.

22. Which is better, to be likeable or to be authentic?

Authentic.

23. If you could change one thing in the world...

End the pain and suffering of all.
My Replies.

1. What is the most distant country you've RP'd with someone from?

Uh... Most of my rp partners are from Canada, but hmm. Well it would be Australia but, that didn't happen unfortunately, so I guess I'd have to say The Netherlands.

2. What is your favorite genre?

In what? Books, shows, movies, RP? If I have to give a general genre then romance but it varies.

3. What is your favorite hobby aside from writing?

My entire life is writing, my passion/career, my passion/hobby, my therapeutic expression, everything - but one of the few things I do that isn't writing is watch people react to TV shows or Movies on YouTube. A few of my favorite YouTube show/movie reactors are SmurfVlogs, JayPerView, SimpleReactions, and TheFlamingShark.

4. What is a word you tend to misspell a lot? (none is a valid answer, but I won't believe you!)

silhoutte.

5.) What kind of intelligence is most dominate for you (ex. verbal, mathematical, visual-spatial, musical, social intelligence, etc)?

I don't really understand what this means? So I guess that means none? LOL.

6. Do you like rollercoasters (a measure of thrill-seeking)?

Frick no. If you wan to torture me and see me dissolve into tears put me somewhere high and fast.

7. What do you think the most beneficial medication to have ever been discovered is?

Antibiotics with a second to allergy medication and inflammatory pain killers.

8. What's your favorite accent to hear someone speak with?

Southern (like deep Georgia.) or German.

9. What's something stupid you've done?

I don't go into detail but - let a 35 year old man take me to his house to watch a movie when I was 16, without telling anyone where I was going on top of that.

10. What's a rather unusual thing you like?

Pacifiers. I was really hesitant about putting this, and so I put scratching head with forks, but then I saw DarkCrows answer and it just made me feel so much better about it. For me personally it's a chewing and comfort thing. I'm also a former 'Little' and I still retain some of my habits which includes pacifiers...but that's about it.

11. Think about your favorite roleplaying partners. What quality makes them your favorite?

I can't pick just one thing. All my favorite roleplayers are very kind, creative, detailed in their replies, and talk very frequently OOC and are close to me.

12. What's your favorite sport to watch?

Ugh, eh. The only one I can think of that I even like is womens gymnastics. 1. because im bi as hell but tend to like women a little more 2. it's impressive as hell.

13. What's your favorite sport to play?

AHAHAHAHAHAHAH.

14. What is one thing people do that makes you uncomfortable?

Be sexist/fat phobic. Biphobia is annoying too but I deal with sexism and fatphobia way more. Like leave me alone, you know?

15. What's one thing people do that makes you feel comfortable?

Stand up for what is good and kind. Human decency. Tell people to wear what they want and like.

16. What's your favorite nonsense word?

I don't really use nonsense words, I'm realizing. I usually say stuff like 'good gravy' 'for petes sake' 'frickedy frick' (but the actual curse word.) I mean, I say LOL, LMAO, OMG, and TBH out loud, like the actual letters. Does that count?

17. What's your favorite actual word?

Curse word, the f word.
Non curse word, Sexthetic. It's a word I made up but I don't consider it a nonsense word.

Sexthetic.

For when you can see/think someone or something is sexy but you aren’t sexually attracted/aroused to/by said thing.

For when aesthetic isn’t enough but just ‘sexy’ is too allosexual or not quite right.

Especially helpful for people on the ace spectrum.

Example: 'Oh wow, she’s so sexthetic.’ Or 'that’s such a sexthetic outfit.’

- you’re welcome, a demisexual person.

18. What's a favorite quote?

"Yo Earl! You're fired!" - Princess Bubblegum.

19. Who is the best songwriter of all time, in your opinion?

I only know brands/musicians, and they don't all necessarily write their music, so I have no idea.

20. Is Schrodinger's cat alive, dead, both, or neither?

Schrodinger is dead. The cat definitely clawed it's way out the box and murdered him for putting it in there without air holes.

21. Do you believe there is such a thing as destiny?

Yes, but it is ever changing.

22. Which is better, to be likable or to be authentic?

I personally feel if who you really are is very unlikable, and you find that people avoid you, don't like you, are afraid of you. Then self reflection is needed. Being authentic is one thing, but if who you are is undeniably unlikable and hurtful, then you need to work on that, you know? If you're a nice person, truly though flawed as all people are, and people still don't like you, then you're probably looking in the wrong places or need to get out of a bad situation, which is difficult.

23. If you could change one thing in the world...

Minorish: More affordable and cute plus size clothing.

Majorish: Raise minimum wage for everyone, lower prices of everything, make it easier for self publishing authors to get ISBNS espeically in the united states where it costs a lot of money just for 1-2 of them, where as in Canada they are free.

2. What is your favorite genre? Depends on the context. Movies? Action probably, but if I'm in the mood, I'll watch anything; TV? Competition or Comedy (Ink Master or Office for specific examples on both lol); Music? All of them xD; RP? Adult themed / Romance; ... are there genres for other things? My brain is going blank.

3. What is your favorite hobby aside from writing? Drawing!

4. What is a word you tend to misspell a lot? (none is a valid answer, but I won't believe you!) occasional (it took me a few times to spell it correctly this time around lol); One I used to have trouble with was resource, but I've since figured out a cheat for that one lol

5. What kind of intelligence is most dominate for you (ex. verbal, mathematical, visual-spatial, musical, social intelligence, etc)? um... let's go take a test shall we! .... My test says Linguistic! I would assume that's verbal in the options given.

6. Do you like roller coasters (a measure of thrill-seeking)? ... Let me put it this way... the last time I went on a roller coaster, I cried so hard that they didn't even get the option to send us off on the roller coaster... I was just dragged out by my parents lol... I was like... idk, 6? I don't plan on trying again anytime soon lol

7. What do you think the most beneficial medication to have ever been discovered is? oh gosh um... I don't think I'm nearly smart enough to answer this question tbh. Just off the top of my head? Vaccines and/or Insulin I guess...

9. What's something stupid you've done? ... do you want that list alphabetical or chronological? We'll say the fact that I'm a huge idiot who can never keep up with friends cause I'm a "Out of sight, out of mind" type of person by nature. It's the worst.

14. What is one thing people that makes you uncomfortable? Small talk. I hate small talk. I'm JUST fine with silence. If it's not required, please don't talk to me, especially when I have my headphones in lol. If it's a serious conversation? Sure, I'll play. But a conversation of ten total words before dead silence, and then another dead words, and silence, and etc. is so frustrating. Either fill the silence or don't.

15. What's one thing people do that makes you feel comfortable? Sort of in-line with the last question... Silence. Just... let me be lol. Or nerd out with me, but unless we're talking about something we're mutually obsessed with, I don't like talking lol

17. What's your favorite actual word? ... See above?

Unless it like, meows or something lol

21. Do you believe there is such a thing as destiny? Sort of? Kind of... Barely.

22. Which is better, to be likeable or to be authentic? Both? Can I put both? I guess for purposes of the questions I'll say Authentic is better, but it doesn't work out if you're a crappy person who know one likes, even when authentic lol

That was probably a weird response, but....do you know what I mean?!? *sigh* I need more intellectuals as buddies IRL, it makes me too absurdly happy when people have conversations about obscure things. I love it.

Ok gotta drive home.

*swoon*

That's a good point, the cat in the box is just an analogy. So what I think you're saying is that even though it might sound ridiculous to say that a cat in a box is both alive and dead, it's NOT ridiculous to say the same thing of a particle being in two states at once, or in two places at once. Because lots of strange things like that happen at the quantum level that don't happen out here in the macro world of big objects. Am I right...is that what you mean?

That's a good point.

I actually am one of (i think) people who might believe this, and I only have a layman's understanding of it, BUT...from what I've read there's a theory that explains all of quantum mechanics spooky things, like a particle seeming to be in two places at once, and the spin on a particle that's far away through the two particles being entangled, and all those things. If I understand it right, Pilot Wave Theory explains all that stuff but no one wants to believe it because everyone believes the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics.

Pilot wave theory says something like...that there's sort of an aether (a scientist would cringe to hear me say this is what I think it means, but in my mind, that's what makes sense)...

...this sort of aether that connects everything, and that's why the spin of one electron can affect the other electron even light years away, instantly, even though that the shouldn't be possible! But it is possible because everything is connected already, so nothing has to travel through space faster than the speed of light, because those things are already connected, or something like that.

And with the electron slit experiment, they think the wave goes through both slits, but the electron only goes through one or the other. And I think it explains quantum tunneling too.

But Einstein was always looking for to prove that the Copenhagen interpretation is wrong, and that's that particles cannot be in two places at once and I think he is right. But most ppl don't agree with me so maybe not! But it's fun to talk about.

Goes back to whether things are determined or not, wherher there's a destiny.

This makes me wonder what you're studying in school. Physics?

Anyway thanks for letting me geek ouuuuuuuut

That’s an interesting theory. I vaguely remember hearing about the Pilot Wave theory back in high school physics, but as it was high school physics it was during a lesson on the history of physics and the more widely accepted Copenhagen interpretation was favored.

I’m currently taking a physics course right now, and my dad is really into physics, but my current major is actually biomedical engineering. I find quantum physics fascinating, but for my career (unless I change my major) I’ll be working more with regular mechanics and the physics of chemistry and biology. According to my current physics professor, chem and bio are basically applied physics, and I can definitely see how.

And don’t worry, I love to geek our too. It’s what nerds are made for!

Oh cool. Biomedical engineering is such an interesting career too, and more relevant to us (humans), in a way. Every time I listen to a show about C.R.I.S.R., and what it can do (both amazing and frightening), I get all interested and turn the TV up. Lol. Biomedical engineering seems like an amazing field to be in! Good luck!

I'm just a pharmacy tech/ex teacher who finds science really interesting to read and watch documentary shows about. ;)
1. What is the most distant country you've RP'd with someone from?

The US, UK I think.

2. What is your favorite genre?

Friendship, romance, family or hurt/comfort I honestly am not sure which is my favourite.

3. What is your favorite hobby aside from writing?

Drawing, that’s for sure.

4. What is a word you tend to misspell a lot? (none is a valid answer, but I won't believe you!)

I misspelled ‘phoenix’ as ‘pheonix’ for exactly 6 years. 6 years and even now I still make the same mistake sometimes.

5.What kind of intelligence is most dominate for you (ex. verbal, mathematical, visual-spatial, musical, social intelligence, etc)?

Uh, logical-mathematical mostly, and maybe a bit of visual-spatial? But mostly the former, I mean, it is almost a hobby trying to find patterns and solve problems and the likes. Heck, I debate with myself most of the time because there is simply no one around. I am alright with music as well, not talented, but I can play and sing along to a tune alright that my conductor doesn’t immediately throw his baton(?) at me when I start playing.

Definitely not verbal, I mean, I can communicate alright, but beyond the ‘hello, how are you, how’s your food’ I am basically no better than a 3 year old. Definitely not inter-personal or social, I swear emotions bounce of me like-I don’t even know what’s the simile here. A rock? A trampoline? What even? All my reactions that make me seem more empathetic are literally learnt and copy-n-paste from websites and what I saw others do before me.

6. Do you like rollercoasters (a measure of thrill-seeking)?

-If I ever get the chance, I wouldn’t mind queuing up for hours just to ride it over and over again. The only time I get so ‘high’ and my heart pumps so fast is probably when I am forced to run 400m in 10 seconds or when I am drinking my third cup of americano. XD

7. What do you think the most beneficial medication to have ever been discovered is?

Tea! I’m only half joking, but there is that one medicinal tea that helped me get over my flu in a record of three days. But, I don’t use that much medication but...uhhh, there is this weird smelling pill that comprised of mostly traditional medicine that can immediately cure my stomach aches, mild food poisoning and any other issues such as diahrrea? And there is this other weird-smelling pill made of some sort of traditional medicine that reduced my extremely painful mestrual cramps (can’t walk, can’t sit level of pain) to just a some mild discomfort and pain?

8. What's your favorite accent to hear someone speak with?

British accent, probably, as long as it isn’t to the point where I can’t understand it at all. I also do enjoy the Taiwanese accent...not so much when spoken by women, but Taiwanese accent is very nice in my opinion.

9. What's something stupid you've done?

Deciding that pulling an all-nighter is worth it if I can hand in that essay by tomorrow morning which I know I will be deeply regretting when the mathematics teacher walk into the classroom.

10. What's a rather unusual thing you like?

I love snakes, which I am told very often that it is rather disturbing. I really do enjoy natto, a type of fermented beans usually eaten with mustard and soy sauce, which many people find disgusting/difficult to stomach. Kimchi is also way up there. Another weird thing is friends playing with my hair, and me doing the same to theirs. (Combing, typing it up or just playing with it in general.

11. Think about your favorite roleplaying partners. What quality makes them your favourite

Their style of roleplay just matches well with mine I guess; they don’t have to be particularly good conversationists or anything like that, as long as our roleplay makes me feel that we are contributing equally; not me writing too much, or writing too little in comparison to them, exactly at the same level.

12. What's your favorite sport to watch?

Ice skating, figure skating in particular. I tried skating before and my legs are aching for the entire week and there are already blisters after several hours on ice. Seeing people who are able to dance, jump and move so freely on ice.. I really admire them for the sheer amount of effort they put into it really. And well, ice skating is rather impressive as well, most people can’t really glide in a straight line and they have to run to compete with others? I personally think it is amazing really.

Also taekwondo and wushu- those are hella cool. Taekwondo with its kicks and wushu-have you ever seen those weapons? I mean, they are probably not real weapons but they are still friggin cool.

13. What's your favorite sport to play?

I am not very sporty, but I do occasionally ice skate. Basketball is quite fun as well, but I was never particularly competitive or active.

14. What is one thing people that makes you uncomfortable?

Taking on a stern or harsh tone; it shoots my anxiety up more than anything else really.

15. What's one thing people do that makes you feel comfortable?

Engaging me in conversation, even light and brief ones, before going on and doing their own thing. I don’t mind the silence, as long as they show that I am welcomed there, because I think too much and sometimes take people not acknowledging me as them not wanting me there.

16. What's your favorite nonsense word?

鸋, I am not sure what it means, but I just find the character really pretty

17. What's your favorite actual word?

‘Amalgamation; the action, procress, or result of combining or uniting’ I’m not sure why, but I think that it was because I came across that word when I am researching about the powers to give one of my characters and I liked the sound of that word.

18. What's a favorite quote?

-Love never dies a natural death. It dies because we don't know how to replenish its source. It dies of blindness and errors and betrayals. It dies of illness and wounds; it dies of weariness, of witherings, of tarnishings.-

-People live their lives bound by what they accept as correct and true. That's how they define "reality". But what does it mean to be "correct" or "true"? Merely vague concepts ... their "reality" may all be a mirage. Can we consider them to simply be living in their own world, shaped by their beliefs?-

-Life is like a cup of strong wine, without repeatedly refining it, it wouldn’t be so delicious-

19.Who is the best songwriter of all time, in your opinion?

G.E.M, JJ Lin and Jay Chou, I don’t know if they are the best but I absolutely love their songs.

20. Is Schrodinger's cat alive, dead, both, or neither?

That’s..very complex- I mean I’ve heard of it, but I don’t know much about it. As the theory said, both and neither? Since it means the same anyways. Same as the question you had last time, the one with the trees I think. You don’t know whether it is alive or dead, unless you perceive it yourself, which means there are two possibilities, of it being either alive or dead. So...both? I don’t know hahaha

21. Do you believe there is such a thing as destiny?

Well, no, I don’t. I believe in that everything, no matter what, has a cause and thus an effect. So I think that people think is ‘destiny’ is simply caused by something they are unaware of.

22. Which is better, to be likeable or to be authentic?

It is definitely to be likeable; it is cynical of me, but I would most definitely be deprived of friends or any close relationships if I am completely and utterly ‘authentic’ and thus honest about myself. So, whether it is little white lies or putting up an entire facade, I would still do it even if I loathe the person to hell and back, because if so I would be supported. There are still lines I wouldn’t cross though, and due to me lacking in self-control, if someone pisses me off enough, I basically throw away the cordial and friendly persona in less than a second. ;;w;;

23. If you could change one thing in the world...

People would be more reasonable and rational, thus leading to easier solutions to a lot of problems in this world.
