Roz Pariiyon -WORLD- (played by MercyInReach)

So, I have this world I created essentially for a book series, but potentially RP which is why I'm putting this here.

The 'world' which is really a continent, named - Roz Pariiyon - has fourteen countries/Kingdoms. It's a Dieselpunk world, where the aesthetics are a mix of what one would recognize as the early to mid 1900's but with modern-esque technology and engineering.

Long story short: After many years of being born and living among humans the fae were under peril of being hunted and killed. Many disagreed on the idea of coming out of the closet so to speak; and those that were, were putting the rest of them in danger. The only choices were to risk going at war with the humans if they came out of the closet, or find a way to keep their people safe.

The fae world was created by the founding fae’s ancestors six hundred years ago. The founding families formed their own government and rule but over the years the desire for power of their new land and fae people, sank in.

A plot of point of my book is the summer festival, the characters go to it. I have just been referencing it as that as I am trying to get the more heavy plot stuff and character interactions out, but now I need to figure it out - it will be helpful for if I decide to make the world open to others for RP.

This Summer Festival, isn't something that is celebrated by every countries, it's specifically celebrated in the country/kingdom of Raavier, who has a monarch butterfly fae King, but a heavy population of out-cast moth fae, and a heavy population of bear-fae as they are allied with them.

I have figured out that the summer festival is heavily about love - whether romantic, platonic, or familial. It's about care, affection, spending time together, and also has some relations to a unnamed fertility goddess.

But I am absolutely stumped on what to have happen there activity wise! What sorts of things should be be doing? What is there available to do?

I also have no idea about the fertility goddess, what traditions are there based around her?

What should this 'summer festival' actually be called?!

Halp!
I literally just throw some Latin words with the meaning that I want every time I name something.

Mostly because Latin just looks pretty and sounds equally attractive. XD

You're not wrong lol. I've definitely done that, I just want this to be really lovely sounding and I don't know where to begin really with it.
Taking into consideration the King of this particular kingdom - which King, or Queen, began this festival? Is that something you want to include to give more history to it? It could be that this ruler in particular, to separate their people from all the greed and power that was filtering into the fae's decided to create this festival in that Goddess' name to return them to their more natural roots, encouraging understanding. The one day they can celebrate as not only love in every shape and/or form, but for reconciliation as well?

The King, or Queen who made it could also have named it after this Goddess such as "so-and-so's blessing" or "sos-and-so's hand" in relation to the goddess guiding them towards this most amicable outcome/day.

I don't mean to ramble, but I hope some of this helped? I'm going to stop myself there though so that I don't risk being overwhelming, if I haven't already done so. ^^;
Shew, this is tricky considering there’s a name for every type of love. Eros, Agape, Philia, and Storgé can be embodied somehow in your goddess.

You can always go the Japanese route since there’s two main ones.

愛 (Ai): Depending on the context, 愛 can be used to refer to several types of love, including friendships, family, and love of things or activities. It’s used as the base for constructing many different love-related words, such as 愛犬家 (aikenka; a dog lover), 母性愛 (boseiai; maternal love) or 博愛 (hakuai; philanthropy).

恋 (Koi): This word usually implies physical or romantic love, though in certain contexts, it can imply a more “selfish” type of love. It’s used in the construction of such romance-related words as 恋人 (koibito; a boyfriend/girlfriend), 恋敵 (koigataki; a rival in love) or 初恋 (hatsukoi; first love).

Or, write backwards from character interaction and build from that. If I’m writing a pivotal scene and get stuck on small details writing the main things that stick out in my brain helps.

This is an interesting concept - it does actually give me an idea.

Basically, the 'lore' in short terms... Is that the moth fae ruled Raavier, they were over thrown by the butterfly fae, then cursed in a manner that made their moth abilities and such dormant, and they are cursed to turn into bears every single night. Many moth fae resorted to marrying bear-fae, as it made things easier. But there are some that didn't, though they make up a small part of the population.

Nafiya - moth fae, cursed to be bear-y at night, stems from the royal family.

Sebastienne - is the illegitimate daughter of the former Queen - she's butterfly and firefly.

I could have it where this festival was started by the moth fae in celebration of the goddess, when they were in rule - people fought over whether it should be disbanded for a while, but in order to essentially fake some sort of care for the moth fae that were outcast, and distract people from the fact that they should be allowing them to be citizens again rather than just holding a festival started by a culture of people that aren't even welcome in the Kingdom, but for in The Sorrows, they have the festival.

The problem of not knowing what the heck the goddesses name is, and what could go on at the festival is still an issue though.

Thank you for kick starting some brain juice tho.
