Circa year 2020: Mankind accidentally make first contact with seemingly friendly paranormal entities, who then sneakily take over from right under humanity's noses. The otherworldly entities used a wide range of tactics to take over without the use of invasion or brute force, forming the Emergence Entity one-world government shortly. While many questioned how the governments of the world suddenly fused together, it was "explained" away by international unity and globalism. Fifteen years later, persecuted dissidents banded together to form Project Griffin. It's up to a ragtag bunch of misfits to save planet Earth from the tyrants in disguise!

On very, very, rare occasions there may be unexplained, POSSIBLY supernatural events. Minor "environmental" magic. Perhaps implies the existence of a deity or supernatural entity. Or perhaps it's just tricks?
Far future, perhaps interstellar travel (faster than light)
Wartime/soldier RPs. Combat is a given and will likely be graphic, but there's the potential for non-combat "in the trenches" scenes. World War 2, Vietnam, etc.
