Are there any other Opera fans on here? If so what is your favorite Opera song?

Mine is Passerá by lI Divo, it was sung by this guy on AGT when Simon stopped his first performance and made him sing that one instead

Lyrics in English(warning its a biggin)

SONGS ARE NOT WRITTEN

THEY ARE BORN FROM THEMSELF

THEY ARE THINGS THAT HAPPEND

EVERY DAY AROUND US

YOU JUST CAN TAKE THEM

THERE IS ONE EVEN FOR YOU

THAT COST YOU SO MUCH TO LIVE

AND NEVER SMILES

SONG ARE LIKE GYPSYS

AND THEY STEAL POETRIES

THEY ARE CHEATS LIKE PILLS

FROM THE HAPPINESS

THE SONGS DONT RECOVER

LOVERS AND DISEASES

BUT A SMALL PAIN

THAT EXISTENCE IS

IT WILL GO AWAY, IT WILL GO AWAY

IF A BOY AND A GUITAR ARE THERE

LIKE YOU, IN THE CITY

WATCHING THIS LIFE THAT DOESNT WORK

THAT KILLS US WITH ILLUTIONS

AND WITH THE AGE OF THE SONGS

IT WILL PASS OVER US

WE ALL ENDS in (banca) sonner or later (*)

WITH THE WHYS, AND THE MAYBES

AND THE ANGUISH OR A RICH POVERTY

TO TALK ABOUT THE LOVES THAT WE DON'T HAVE

SINGING A SONG THAT WE DON'T KNOW HOW IT GOES

BECAUSE YOU HAVE LOST IT INSIDE

AND YOU JUST REMEMBER IT

IT WILL GO AWAY...

IN A CAR WORLD

AND HIGH SPEED

THE ONE WHO ARRIVES LAST

THE ONE WHO SAY GOODBYE

THE ONE WHO BLINKS THE OBSTACLES

OF THE ADVERSITY

SONGS ARE (LIKE) GLOW-WORMS

THAT SING IN THE HOLE

IT WILL PASS SONNER OR LATER

THIS LITTLE PAIN THAT IS INSIDE YOU

THAT IS INSIDE ME, THAT IS INSIDE US

AND MAKE FEEL US LIKE SAILORS

ROCKS BY THE WIND AND THE NOSTALGIA

SINGING A SONG THAT WE DONT KNOW

HOW IT GOES

BUT THIS LITTLE PAIN, MAYBE HATE OR LOVE

IT WILL GO AWAY

IT WIL GO AWAY, IT WILL GO AWAY

EVEN IF YOU ONLY SING LA, LA, LA

IT WILL AWAY, IT WILL GO AWAY

AND A SONG WILL SERVE FOR SOMETHING

IF YOUR LITTLE PAIN

MAYBE HATE OR LOVE

IT WILL GO AWAY

I'm not that much of opera fan, that doesn't mean I don't like it but there are many other genres that I find to resonate with me on higher levels.

There's one opera song that I like, the song name is "time to say goodbye"
by Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman.

Yes yes yes!

My favorite Soprano is Judith Blegen

Favourite Operas

Are Hansel und Gretel And Die Fledermaus.

Favorite songs : glitter and be gay , Die abendsegen. Der Kleine Taumann heiß ich , Adele’s laughing song. Also I like the final song of the opera Hansel und gretel But idk the name of it

.
I really love opera music, but I'm not a fan, if that makes sense? I just hear random songs and go "Oh pretty," so I feel like I don't belong in this thread, BUT

I feel like it's an actual aria, so it can still technically go here: Diva Dance
I do love opera music, but this song specifically has good memories for little baby me who's family movie was Fifth Element <3 Nostalgia beats all lol

Popping my head in real quick - I do love opera. I've been operatically trained (singing) since I was 13, but gave it up, and now hardly sing to be honest. One of my little sisters (adopted) does still to this day professionally. Her name is Sahara Sauvageau (née Doroschuk-Sloan) and she performs with her husband Gaetan. They go under the name INCANTO - totally check them out.

But I wanted to pop in more so to say Con Te Partiro is awesome. I absolutely adore this aria and is quite nostalgic. Thanks for the reminder of such a wonderful song. <3 If you like Andrea Bocelli, he did do a duet with Josh Groban (well a couple actually) but they performed the Prayer together and it's quite lovely. :)

There is a "cute" aria called "Nel cor più non mi sento" which is a duet aria from Giovanni Paisiello's opera La Molinara, which I always liked singing along to with Sumi Jo (though the more often she repeats the more outrageous and, personally, detestable her vibrato gets, but this before the days of YouTube so I didn't have another option). I've always adored the part "Mi stuzzichi, mi mastichi, mi pungichi, mi pizzichi" which translates to "You tease me, you bite me, you prick me, you pinch me." because it always reminded me of playground love between kids. Bug the crap out of them to let them know you like them. XD

Also shoutout to DarkCrow, Fifth Element is pure ass kickery fantabulousness. <3

Anyhow, I will stop now. Yay opera!
I may not know anything about opera, what makes it good or bad, or just about any of the terms Demi had in his post, but I know I enjoy this song. I like to listen to it to relax.

It's not quite opera but operatic? I guess? Check it out.
