I will be playing Kestrel, but OOC you can call me Shyanne. I used to role play on forums quite often as a younger woman, but I lost touch and lost time until I decided to make time for it now. I'm in my second year of college right now, which brings my face in front of my laptop more often, this could be the energy drawing me back to my creative role playing days. I currently work in healthcare as a nurse in internal medicine and pediatrics. I am from Oklahoma and I'm Cherokee Native American. Kestrel is based off of a character I fell in love with reading a book about the Ice age in North America. She embodies everything I ever hoped to be. Its quite auspicious to pursue the best qualities of ourselves in the characters we put down to page. Hero's are always needed, if not for others, then for ourselves. What kind of stories do you hope to see Kestrel in?

I never thought of it that way before. I hope to see her in a wide variety of stories. I’d hate to limit my precious hero to one genre.

Yes, the books are published by TOR and are labeled people of the earth series. The authors are Kathleen O’neal Gear and Michael Gear. The book that features kestrel is called People of the Sea. I recommend!!
