This RP is for those who posted in the Looking For thread! If you missed it and would like to join, please drop me a private message to be considered!

I'll be putting the introductory post below, and then you can all start posting at your leisure! ♡ Feel welcome to start posting at any point, but if you're worried about posting at the same time as someone else, simply post a 'claim' before writing your intro, then edit the post once you've finished writing! Please be aware, my goal here is to post a minimum of once per week; I do hope it will be more frequently than this, but please don't expect swift responses on a daily basis. If I manage to do this, it will be particularly rare!

P.S. I hope everyone has fun, and don't hesitate to drop me a line outwith the RP if necessary. Remember, this was built as a one-off scene, and your character is allowed at any point to leave the tearoom! Just remember to put a closing post as such; we don't want Piper having to dust off any abandoned characters, hehe. ;) ))

The sun hangs low in the sky, offering a warm, orange glow to everything under it's gaze. Clouds begin to shimmer in warm pink and purple hues as the day draws near to an end. It's been a long and busy day, with all of this adventuring business that you do. You scan the road before you, and find your eyes falling on the jaunty sign of what looks like a little cafe or tea house.

'The Lilytree Tearoom'

Cosy lights twinkle in the carved window, their wooden frames seem to be of the same wood as the sign above. The little door looks to be severely weathered, with a vine of sorts growing around the split planks. You can't quite decide if the shop front stands out from or is lost by it's surroundings. Either way, you head towards the door and pop inside for a look - a sit down sounds good right about now.

Accompanying the melodic twinkle of the bell above the door, the floral scents of tea fills your nostrils. The inside of the store is arguably more eccentric than it's front, with a cluttered dark walnut counter top and a variety of herbs and plants hanging from above. Behind the counter, a wall of different jars and pouches sit with handwritten labels. The sound of a quill being used stops soon after the bell finishes it's chime, and a mass of wavy, rose brown hair appears from the other side of the counter.
Through her golden, round framed glasses, you see the friendly green eyes of a lady in her early thirties. A smile beams onto her full lips as she hastily prepares to welcome you in.
Labwe (played by Onomatopoman)

A small goblin, donning a crimson tunic and brown, matted pants, waltzes into the store. His attention is drawn immediately not to the store, but the bell ringing above his head. His gaze, chocolate with a hint of what could either be curiosity, stupidity, or any anything in between, focuses solely on the bell. He reaches for it, intent on hitting it for the worth-while "ding", but cannot reach. Undeterred, he tries again, and again, and again. Before long, he finds himself gasping for breath, having exhausted himself in his effort to hit the bell. He crawls out the door, still panting...

He returns five minutes later, laughing. Opening the door, the little gob now holds a wooden board. Interestingly, a nearby construction site worker, who shall be called "Bob", is currently desperately trying a find a board of the same kind in order to keep a several other dozen boards from falling on him, as he holds them all up by his feet, legs, arms, head, shoulders, and hands (it's a real mess over there). Poor Bob. Oh well, no one cares about him.

The goblin opens the door, and immediately looks up at the bell, a smile on his face. Setting his stuffed possum toy on a nearby table and the board on the ground, he spits in his hands and rubs them together. Grabbing the board again with gusto, he gives the bell a hearty hit. It rings with as much heart, and if it could speak, it would be yelling just as loudly, probably cussing the goblin out in several different dialects.

Laughing in pure joy, he hits it again, and again, and again. Somehow, the bell stays there, and never even receives a dent. The bell clearly must have been born in the days where things do not break very easily, as its metal proves its...er, metal. Rapidly, the goblin loses interest in the bell, and proceeds to chuck the board behind him and out the door. In the distance, a construction worker no one cares about shouts in pain, spewing all kinds of profanity as a ton of boards fall on him.

Letting the door close, Labwe picks up his toy and walks up to the counter, finally actually entering the store to look around the place. He takes in all the various smells of the tea shop, sniffing the air with his very long nose. He takes into account the woman behind the counter, who has no doubt been watching him practically mutilate the bell on her door. In hindsight, he should have realized that. Oh well.

Giving her a wide smile full of pointy teeth, he offers a happy wave, regardless. "Hi! You look nice. And smell nice. Or maybe place smells nice. Can't tell."

"Yet another label for the wall~" Piper hummed to herself as she scribbled down the name of a new tea blend for the small glass jar sitting on the work surface beside her. Sealed tightly with a little cork to keep it fresh, the tea leaves inside looked to be some sort of black tea, mixed with tiny petals of cherry and cornflour. The pink and purple flakes appeared to sparkle in the warm, subtle light cast by the tealights nearby - a petite cast iron teapot sitting on a stand was being kept warm by them. Wisps of steam rising from the spout filled the shop with a beautiful scent of cherry blossom... and what was that other sweet scent mixed in?

The gentle woman rose from her work station, placed snugly in the back corner of the tea shop, and readjusted a strand of her long hair as it brushed against a nearby bundle of lavender suspended from the ceiling.
"Oh, I really must adjust the height of that." She fussed in a silvery voice, swiftly reaching out to steady the sway of the jute string that held the drying flowers, as the bell twinkled behind her.

With the bundle steadied, Piper swiftly picked up the jar of tea along with it's fresh label, and twirled to greet her first customer of the evening, a warm smile on her face. "Good evening-" She chimed, trailing off towards the end of her sentence as she glanced the tail end of the goblin slink from the shop. She stood for a moment, equally as surprised by the sight of the goblin, as his sudden departure from the store.

Finally, with a hum of disappointment, she made her way towards the shop counter, weaving amongst the tables and chairs that lined the cosy store. She placed the jar of tea leaves down, and went about securing the label neatly to the glass, so that it was visible on the customer side of the wide table.

She had no longer finished doing so, than the goblin returned with the wooden board. Piper beamed, delighted to see that he hadn't simply decided against visiting her little store. Her smile was short lived, however, and was replaced instead with a look of complete shock when the little bell was assaulted with the wooden board.

"Erm..." She reached forwards on impulse, though was simply too far away to actively do anything as the bell ringing continued, so covered her mouth instead. She was relieved to see that the bell remained unharmed, however, although she did shoot a worried glance out of the door at the sound of the distant crash. Her attention was drawn straight back to the shop as the door clicked gently shut, and her previous warm smile crept back onto her face as she observed the goblin's features properly for the first time.

"Good evening!" She reiterated, suppressing a delighted chuckle at the compliment. "I haven't seen you here before, have you come for a cup of tea? I've got many different blends to choose from. Why, just today in fact, I made this blend right here - it's probably what you can smell, I have a small pot of it brewing in the back." The woman gently leaned over to show him the small jar, pulling out the cork with a satisfying pop for him to smell the fresh leaves.
Etoile Foraoise (played by Dream)

Yet again the bell tinkles in its silvery news of a guest. Their steps, nigh silent, a footfall appearing placed by each step. It is not intended that her steps tell her coming. Her presence is marked by some other sound, almost a chime like that of the bell hung over the door. A smaller chorus, at that. A measuring look at her finds the elf dressed in an ensemble as florid as it is breathable, satin colored with potent dye as green as the trees. The skirt is long and pleated, trimming diagonally in a ruffled train to her ankles that her knees are bare. Secured by a sash, several smaller bells are woven to the fabric piece that fringes her waist. Above, an exposed midriff and simple white top of cloth. Slung over her shoulder is a less decorous shoulderbag of some beige pelt. Reddish, violet hair caresses just where her back dips.

The elven woman lifts her chin to smell the fragrant air of the shop, tucking some piece of hair from her eyes that she might better take stock of the tea house. Her gaze strays from flora and herbs suspended from the ceiling, falling now to the small goblin and assumed proprietress. Easily, she could perceive the notes of cherry blossom, a scent to bring the elf a smile.

Normally, Etoile might have made a show of her entrance, applying some dramatic flair to prompt looks and attention. But not here and not now. The dancer seems mellowed by the calm of the shop. Patience becomes her, and Etoile ventures off to seat herself wordlessly. Should she find a chair and table, she sits, plucking a book from the shoulderbag. Nothing so ornate as her attire might suggest, a book bound in red velvet with the depiction of a splayed card deck at its cover.
