Hi, I'm Sarvigothe (Gothe is fine) and I'm looking for new RP options. I've been RPing for 20+ years and I've done and seen pretty much everything, so I'm just settling down into my kind of... whatever this is I'm calling it. Not a midlife crisis yet, that's for sure. Not... Not quite yet...
Currently my favorite character for RP is Althuna, I ported her over from F-List where I came from, before that I'd RP on Furcadia and Yahoo Chat, so... yeah, that.. that's showing my age a bit, I think..
I'm in love with fantasy role play, both traditional and urban, and I tried to make Alt flexible enough to fit into a lot of situations, from pure fantasy to a more slice of life with a twist in it.
My main RP days are Friday and every other Thursday, I work 12 hour shifts on Saturdays and Sundays, 4 hour shifts Monday through Wednesday, so depending on how early I wake up or how late I stay up, I can RP then...
...Honestly, I'm just looking for a community to come home to and chat about whatever, RP with cool people, and just relax. I've lost that and it's mildly upsetting for me, so trying to find a new home!

Oh, another person who tried out F-list, welcome! I loved creating profiles there and the whole concept of the fave/yes/maybe/no chart was fun, but I ran into the same problem you did. I don't mind adult themed RP but finding like-minded people who wanted more story than smut was virtually impossible. RPR has been a great alternative.

Been RPing for years and I would never change that! And this is one of the best of the best.
Some couple helpful pieces of information!
One, Characters. I recommend you put enough detail into things so every one who wants to RP with you is satisfied by the amount of information!
Two, rules. I recommend you make rules for yourself and partners. You don’t have to be rude about them but it’s a good idea to put your foot down and say what you will do and what you won’t do, or what you like and how you want your partner to treat you! This should be fun for both of ya!
Three, don’t be nervous to talk to people!! You may miss out on that RP you really wanted to do, or that person you wanted to chat with!! Don’t do that to yourself, everyone I’ve met is so kind and sweet that I felt dumb for being nervous!
And four, be kind. I know I praise this place like my god but there can be some nasty people on here... and when that happens, it ruins everyone’s fun. We all can’t see eye to eye but it doesn’t mean we can’t try now right? Be kind and treat people with respect, you never know what they may be going through.

So I didn't even realize people had been replying to this because work and life, but WOW, thank you all so much for the warm welcome!! I've started to hang out in the 'chat' feature for now and am working on profiles and peeking around at people, but yes, my work schedule does make things a bit slower, so I'll be working on many things all at once until I stop spazzing out on how overwhelmingly kind everyone is here so far.
I'll be thoroughly reading all the links people have been leaving so I can properly acquaint myself with here, and I hope to see everyone at some point!
