Let's see. My name's Jamie, I've been RPing in some online form or another for about 20 years. I've been RPing in an urban fantasy setting for about half that time, and have come to prefer it heavily, though I do have a character I'm willing to translate into more classic fantasy/adventuring settings as the interest arises. As it stands, I play male characters exclusively. I'm a narrative RPer (that is, including thoughts, philosophical musings and other non-dialogue/action content in posts), capable of writing both very short and very long posts. I tend to follow my partner's lead on post sizes, but can wind up bloating them unintentionally if I'm feeling inspired. My very favorite type of RP is erotic RPs where character development occurs, in part, through sexual discovery and bonding. Realistically, though, I'd burn out on doing this 24/7; my "bread and butter" RP is in relationship building, with an eye to emotionally intimate friendships and romances. Given these preferences, I tend to be most comfortable in adult-only forums, but could probably be convinced to RP in an all-ages space if it was interesting enough. I hope to find individual partners, and maybe small groups, to play with, both in casually paced forum settings and more chat-like back and forths.
I have three cats and a dog. A calico cat named Penny, a black, stub-tailed cat named Cleo, and a fluffy tuxedo cat named Anthrax (my brother named her; we call her Annie, usually). The dog's Bagel, a somewhat overgrown puggle who's obsessed with baby carrots.
I haven't been to school in ages, but excelled in anything that involved writing essays and similar writing and reading comprehension projects in high school. Y'know, like most people who write recreationally! Presently, I tend to educate myself on current events with podcasts and stuff. Going into too much detail's probably a bad idea, but I'm a person who Cares About Things, let's say.
My biggest obsession is in music. Lately that means anything involving Omar Rodriguez-Lopez (after whom I've made a character); Mars Volta, his solo material, At the Drive-In, etc.. Past obsessions include Danzig (when I was 12-15, now a mostly nostalgic thing), Nick Cave (15-20something, keep meaning to get back into him; I made my first "serious character" after him but no longer RP that character) and Daughn Gibson (after whom I also made a character). Some other bands I love but am not a raving fangirl over are Firewater, Dead Kennedys, Elysian Fields, the Murder City Devils, Old Time Relijun, Slim Cessna's Auto Club, etc. etc.. That is to say, "weird underground stuff"; the most mainstream-sounding band I listen to with any regularity is probably Gossip, with some interest in a couple critically adored essential musicians (Nina Simone, Johnny Cash and Leonard Cohen, for example). I tend to be disinterested in music with a broad mainstream appeal, but have grown out of being a total hipster snob about it. Mostly. It's a compulsion I try to ignore, let's say. Overall, I get excited about music and musicians like some people become superfans of comics or TV shows, so I vent my gross fangirl energy by making "tribute characters" after people I admire.
I'm presently aggressively unemployed, between a lack of transportation, depression leaving me largely unmotivated, and social anxiety making work in the service industry intolerable. I've made slow progress with meds and things, so I hope one day for the heavens to open up and present me with a grand money-making opportunity. I suspect that my RP-honed ability to write thousands upon thousands of words per day without really thinking about it might have something to do with it, but who knows, huh?
That's about all that's necessary to get a grasp on who I am, I think. I'll be putting up more character profiles and finding out how to get some RP stirring shortly.

Some couple helpful pieces of information!
One, Characters. I recommend you put enough detail into things so every one who wants to RP with you is satisfied by the amount of information!
Two, rules. I recommend you make rules for yourself and partners. You don’t have to be rude about them but it’s a good idea to put your foot down and say what you will do and what you won’t do, or what you like and how you want your partner to treat you! This should be fun for both of ya!
Three, don’t be nervous to talk to people!! You may miss out on that RP you really wanted to do, or that person you wanted to chat with!! Don’t do that to yourself, everyone I’ve met is so kind and sweet that I felt dumb for being nervous!
And four, be kind. I know I praise this place like my god but there can be some nasty people on here... and when that happens, it ruins everyone’s fun. We all can’t see eye to eye but it doesn’t mean we can’t try now right? Be kind and treat people with respect, you never know what they may be going through.

I'm a pretty kind person, I went through years being an impatient jerk and mostly outgrew it. More compassion for others comes with maturity and all. I'm beginning to burn out on profile work (a lot of it just involves copy/pasting from other places with minor edits but somehow it still takes forever), but I'll make sure to add a rules page. I'll just need to figure out what's normal for it!
