Since I am not currently working on any projects in my personal design studio in my own home; what do you guys do outside of Rping as a hobby? I sew cosplays and historically accurate costumes. I’ve currently finished a Riding/Travel habit in the Royal Stewart tartan and gold military braid work, I can say it was a labor of love since it took so much hand sewing. I specialize in Roman dress to the 1960’s. I don’t do much modern unless it’s a pair of trousers, vests for men, or certain cosplays. I started all this back in winter of 2017 so I’ve definitley had time to make mistakes and learn from them, it took me maybe 5-6 hoop skirt attempts before I finally nailed them for ball gowns. It took me two times making men’s shirts for my brother and my fiancé before I got it right, my fiancé’s looks funky from a mistake on the buttons but he still loves it, my brother’s turned out much better, one of these days I want to make my dream gown and prance around Versailles at the Fetes Gallantes or whatever it’s called, I’m not an expert in French so I may be off a bit on its name, and the dream gown would be a baby blue or canary yellow Robe A La Francaise or “French Dress”.

Let me know what you guys like to do, how you started and whatever else you’d like to mention, I’m curious to know
Hobbies tend to come and go for me.

My current main one is running my dog in agility. I took a class just to try it out last year cause he had a lot of excess energy to burn off and seemed to like learning tricks. And he LOVED it. And I thought it was pretty fun too! So now we started in some local competitions, earned our first title, and a couple ribbons in the lowest level category. Time to move up to the next level!

LittleMouse, that's pretty cool about making costumes! I used to play LARP a lot, so was always trying to sew costumes, but I was never very good at it. It was fun sometimes though, when something actually turned out better than expected. And sometimes frustrating when I dumped hours and hours into something only to have it not turn out good. lol. Your dream gown sounds gorgeous. If/when you make it, you should share pics! :)

My habit blouse didn’t turn out as well as I hoped but I can still make it work. I probably will if I can figure the pictures out without using a url
Lately my favorite thing to do is put on some music and color in an adult coloring book. I love love love art, but I just don’t have the time or resources to put into it like I used to. Coloring really satisfies that artistic craving and you can find some books that allow you to get really creative. My current favorite book is Colormorphia by Kerby Rosanes and my favorite medium is a tie between watercolor pencils and gel pens!!

Adult coloring books are awesome for passing time

Knitting! I love the relaxing rhythmic motions, it's like a form of stimming for me at this point. When I'm angry or upset, some knitting and music will relax me and lower my blood pressure within 15 minutes.

It's a lot of fun, I'm about to design a plushie for another community I'm in, and making a prototype for a friend's birthday. :D Crocheting can also be fun, but I don't like it that much personally. It can be an inexpensive hobby, or get pretty expensive if you want to go real fancy with your supplies.

I have a (currently pretty dormant but ready for action) yarn craft group on here with a playlist for beginners, if you want a place to get started!

I’ve been working on a wool scarf for probably half a year now, I have to get
Pure wool, acrylic and other fibers like you find in store give me reactions and it’s not fun to deal with after

Aside from drawing I also sew, started with cosplay and now trying to move to something more historical-ish, not as accurate as yours LittleMouse, I believe, as I'm hoping for that Middle-earth feel and not something that can be directly tied to an era, but it is fun! As you said, truly a labor of love. I also like to customize dolls, MLPs, garage kits, anything I can spray with my airbrush.
Outside of roleplay I love to design RPRs (okay, kind of related BUT NOT THE SAME), play videogames/virtual pet sites, and collect cute stuff like stickers, stationary, stuffed animals, pins, etc etc.

Middle-earth styling is inspired by the Bliaut era of fashion during the Middle Ages, probably one of the most comfortable eras to wear because you don’t require corsetry, and you don’t require as many layers which is always great for faires lol

I’d consider it different
I have a collection of exotic pets including snakes, a crested gecko and a tarantula. Next weekend we may even get a beetle :3
I also ride horses and I plan on doing some summer treks.
Otherwise I read for fun and I'm very into fifties fashion and trying to collect taxidermy.

My family has a small collection of taxidermy deer and keeps them in my studio...imagine the frights everyone has if they go down there at night, even my cats are mortified of the heads
Well, lately I haven't had any time for hobbies, so I can't wait for my schedule to clear up, so I can get back into them! (:

As for hobbies, I dabble a bit in writing and write a short story here and there. I enjoy reading a lot, and have created my own little library with a custom built book shelf!
I enjoy dancing a lot too, and have been dancing for many years. Unfortunately, I had to stop to focus more on my studies. I'm an aerial artist as well(although a poor one, and terribly out of practice), doing mostly aerial hoop, but also aerial silk on occasion. I'm planning on devoting a lot more time to this in the future, though! (:
LakotaSiouxWarrior

Writing poems if they are good enough they become songs. I draw and paint. I collect basses and amplifiers. I collect string bikini swimsuits something I started doing in high school. When I buy a condo or townhouse I want to start gardening again. One of my hobbies is now my career being a professional bass player. I'm a novelty a 5 feet tall Lakota Sioux Indian in a band with 3 guys💕💕.
Hobbies wise outside of role playing!

I love illustrating (I like making people happy) and manufacturing products like charms, enamel pins and the like. I am really active with my two Australian Shepherds and am kinda obsessed( I want to get in to urban mushing with them) . I play a ton of video games like rpgs, mobas and Mmos like ffxiv. I love to read and travel. Watching documentaries? Collecting vinyl toys and enamel pins :3
Writing books or poems, it’s my way of letting go of stress. I also am a big gamer and can have most of my free time spent on my ps4
That's a neat hobby.

My hobbies are: reading, listening to NPR, going to cheap plays at community playhouses, updating Facebook, sometimes making cute videos with our chihuahuas (ok, I've just done one, but wanna do more) and posting them to YouTube, and singing karaoke at a local really small bar we like to go to.
You all have interesting hobbies!

I guess it's worth mentioning since I'm working on some deer vertebrae right now, but I go out hiking and scavenging for natural history specimens (animal bones, weird rocks, fossils, dead insects, that sort of thing.) I like the process of cleaning bones and trying to identify them and put them back together. They're interesting because they can tell you a lot about the animal that died. I haven't been able to articulate a full skeleton yet, since I scavenge most of my stuff from roadkill and it gets pulverized by cars, but it'd be fun to try someday.
Let me see... Digital art, embroidery, bullet journaling, painting, making really weird conceptual sculpture pieces, visiting art shows, visiting local band shows, writing letters, creating my own ink.. (I have come to come interesting results), writing a fanfiction, world building, playing with my birbs, being gay and doing crimes, researching everything I can about death and myths of death, drinking and mixing drinks, plotting to take down the cultural and sociological structures that are set in place to hold people down, attempting to befriend wild crows and failing, pokemon GO, video games, exploring cemeteries and resetting he flowers and offerings made to the dead, ye old standard heathenry, apprenticing for a sculptor... and i think thats it. there may be more that I'm missing. I do a lot of things.
