Life! My Job requires me to be gone for weeks at a time. They say one week, ends up being 3 or more! Now, finding partners who understand that, is hard. I come back from saying I will be gone for a week and my boss says, "Well we need you to go to this place for a while" I can't exactly say, no. People in these places need people like nurses or doctors. They're isolated. So I apologize if I say a week and I am gone longer than that. My job is important. So I get kind of disappointed when people say they understand but then, just drop you anyways. I mean, it's not my fault. I understand you want to do other role-plays but at least be a little considerate of those who do need to be gone for a while...
;;;;; I understand how you feel. I recently came back from an unintended mini-hiatus myself, so I know what you mean. Nothing's worse than an empty sandbox. :c
I'm not sure if this helps or not, but I understand this as I am an OTR truck driver and live on the road. 90% of my rp is done by using my phone. I'm not sure if this is an option for you or not but if you haven't considered it I would say it's totally a doable thing, at least for me.

If you have considered it or are unable to do so then I realize this is not helpful, and likely regardless it's probably something of starting the obvious. I did feel, however, it was harmless to mention and so I did, in an effort to be helpful. :)

Aww, I'm sorry that happens to you! It's not fair. You aren't alone, though, if that helps! I often have to take mental health or school breaks for chunks of unplanned time. Not much to do about it but move on and live and let be, I suppose. You'll find some partners who'll understand, some day! Maybe it'd be good to reach a mutual understanding of the situation. Give them a warning before you start that you might have to be gone for a bit, and see if they agree to wait for you! :)

Thanks for the advice! I would do role-plays on my phone but sadly, most of these places don't have good internet connections. We live in what we call nurses homes, which don't get very good internet connections. So, sometimes in next to impossible to even use our phones for the internet. Most of the time we are on call and have to turn off our personal phones so that we may better respond to emergencies. I do try and tell people that I may be gone for long periods of time before we start any RP and the response is "I completely understand you have a life and yada yada!" So, I assume they are okay with it. Until I do actually leave that is and then it's "Well you been gone for too much time that I have to make room for more role-plays" SO! it gets very frustrating.
