I find myself thinking about chat, and even RP, and find myself trying to figure out why it drives me crazy when some people don't respond right away, and why it doesn't bother me at all if other people don't respond right away. Any ideas or theories about that?

Have you ever had a person that you like talking to almost too much, to where it almost makes you nervous? You're nervous about everything you say, and when nobody's saying anything, you're nervous, and...you're just nervous. Why does that happen? What do people do about it?

The situation is not helped by the fact that I haven't ever had Online Friends before RpR (about a year).

I guess this same phenomenon happens with other forms of communication. Staring at the phone waiting for someone to call is a thing people used to do. But to me, the effect seems more exaggerated with chat, I don't know why. Is it just my imagination, or have other people noticed that too?

Why does that feeling even exist in the first place?

Ok...this may have been mostly just a venting rant but I just needed to put it somewhere.

I wish it didn't drive me crazy so much.
I’ve noticed a bit of a pattern on here that kind of drives me a litttle nutty, and I can’t be the only one who’s experienced it, why are the weekends, specifically the weekends, so dead?? You’d think they wouldn’t be because people having weekends off or not going to classes etc. guess not...

<3 Yeah, that's true. I wonder why?
For real though, I understand a lot may be out with friends or spending time with family, but it’s like everyone at once isn’t on

I've noticed that too. I think with Sunday nights--tonight in particular, it's probably that a lot of people are getting to sleep or doing homework for Monday. Maybe after doing something more fun than sleeping or homework Saturday, and probably staying up too late that day. But when it's everybody you usually talk to it's like...arghhh...gaping hole in existence! Well that's what it feels like to me.

I don't know if you do Netflix but you know how Netflix has that ad about the "show hole?" Like, when you've binged on a really good Netflix show and you've just watched the last episode, you're in a "show hole." I think this phenomenon should be called "The Chat Hole"...lol. I used to put ads up and start new RPs when it happened, but, I discovered...that's not always a good idea either. Because then I ended up with like 26 RPs. Lol. And when everyone IS on, then it's like...uh oh. Too many RPs. Can't keep up with them all. So...it's a tricky thing, this chat hole business, a tricky thing indeed.

I'm glad to hear it's something you've noticed too. Even if we maybe experience it slightly differently (I'm pretty dramatic about it, I guess). But it's like...where are the people?

Anyway, I'm thinking of exploring some Netflix myself, speaking of it.
I’m experiencing show hole right now...but all together I have maybe 5 rp’s and they’re al active different times of the day

See, that's a more sensible amount! And oh yeah, you did post about shows. That's right. Once you find another good one, maybe you can tell us which one you picked. ;)
Maybe, since I have a job again I can get Hulu and finish Harlots, oh my the costumes are absolutely LUSCIOUS in that show, very cake like lol. But when you’re like me you can handle a lot so it doesn’t bother me if I have a whole lot or not

Lol

I had to look it up. And...I see what you mean.

18th century London...hmm...ok that looks like a show Sandra and I might dig so if we find ourselves paying for Hulu again someday, I might have to check that out.

Congrats on the new job.

Yep...they are indeed "cakelike!" Rotfl
you can definitely see the difference in classes, lower and upper, in it and it’s seemingly inspired me to work on a cupcake-y ballet gown inspired by the upper class girls to list on Etsy in hopes I can use It for a long over due photoshoot en pointe shoes and have a new item on mine
