I rarely ever find myself on here anymore, but I thought this would be the kind of place to get answers about this.

So I'm doing the Hateno Village shrine, where you have a motion control puzzle with a ball and a maze. My question is, does anyone else just turn it over and forget about the maze altogether, using the flat surface instead?

And since this game is so ripe for it, how else have you managed to "beat the system"? I've just always done it that way, and am curious about other people's creativity in action.

This is one of the main reasons that I think Breath of the Wild is such an innovative way, because there are MULTIPLE ways to do the same puzzles, and it allows all players of all thinking types to really get in and solve things and feel good about it. I found myself honestly going through each puzzle and seeing how it was instructed to be done through the guide book after solving it myself and seeing how different my way of doing it had been. I even have a friend who was solving puzzles in entirely different ways than what I had done and what the book had given instruction to do.

This game is so innovative in letting its players do things their way and it's amazing for that alone.

The puzzle your talking about, I actually solved it that way too! I found it so funny that it would let me go that far and just get rid of that silly maze. I did eventually try it the way the maze shows and succeeded, but it was at that moment that I realized that this game really lets players think critically in their own way and it's freaking awesome.

I did another puzzle in my own way from how the book showed. It was a narrow path where a grouping ball and chains were swinging wildly back and forth and preventing the player from making a safe trip across and you had to go real fast with your magnetic ability to stop them from throwing you over the edge and starting over. I ended up grappling each ball and looping it over the bar they swung from twice to make a clear path for myself to get through without much struggle. I still fell off a few times from having to figure out how to get to each one as I was on a moving platform I think? It was still so much fun.
