I'm really not good at this kind of stuff, but...hello! I'm Iso, I guess (pronounced eye-so). While I'm new to this site, I've been roleplaying for quite a while (since I was about 10), and I really enjoy it, since it gives me a way to kind of 'escape' myself. As mentioned in the title, I'm cripplingly shy, and I'm terrible at talking to people, but roleplaying lets me get in-character, which makes it easier - even if I'm playing a nervous wreck of a character, I can focus on them being nervous rather than myself.

As for what I like to roleplay...a little bit of everything, to be honest. Over the years, I've built up a rather large stable of characters to draw from - while I do tend to prefer playing younger male characters (and prefer to romance other male characters), my roster covers all sorts of genders and orientations, and for all sorts of settings. I enjoy fantasy, sci-fi, modern, superheroes, supernatural...even some anime or video games at times. I only play original characters, though, so even if I do a fandom RP, I won't play any canon characters.
Also, thanks to my shyness and anxiety, I'm highly uncomfortable posting in public forums. I'd prefer any roleplaying to be done through PMs, or Discord, or some other method where only the people involved can see it. Unfortunately, the thought of writing something that can be seen by the public is panic-inducing...just trying to write this was bad enough! xD

Some couple helpful pieces of information!
One, Characters. I recommend you put enough detail into things so every one who wants to RP with you is satisfied by the amount of information!
Two, rules. I recommend you make rules for yourself and partners. You don’t have to be rude about them but it’s a good idea to put your foot down and say what you will do and what you won’t do, or what you like and how you want your partner to treat you! This should be fun for both of ya!
Three, don’t be nervous to talk to people!! You may miss out on that RP you really wanted to do, or that person you wanted to chat with!! Don’t do that to yourself, everyone I’ve met is so kind and sweet that I felt dumb for being nervous!
And four, be kind. I know I praise this place like my god but there can be some nasty people on here... and when that happens, it ruins everyone’s fun. We all can’t see eye to eye but it doesn’t mean we can’t try now right? Be kind and treat people with respect, you never know what they may be going through.

Welcome to RpR. PM is the way many people do RP here. One way to find an RP is go to the Looking For Roleplay thread, find an ad you like, then PM the writer of the ad. That's what I did at the beginning. Take care!
