Was anyone into Code Lyoko when it was a thing?
I know I still am. Also, I'm bored to tears so I made a random thread.
100%. I think it was one of my first fandoms, if not the first (MSN groups, oh boy...). Took a summer to marathon all the episodes a few years ago, but couldn't get into Evolution.

I still come back to it every now and then, but there's not much of a fandom out there for it (at least I don't think there is) so it fails to keep my interest anymore for too long.

Oh, yea...evolution was kinda...meh.. to say the least. I have found that the fandom is still pretty strong. I'm not sure you know but some fan is making a complete game where you basically play has Jeremy. So you get to put in codes and just into the computer virtualize the gang and defeat Xana. I'm in there discord right now. lol, There is even supposed to be a Story mode for it that they are working on.
I lurk on the subreddit sometimes, I think I know what you're talking about! That's some wild dedication, I'll have to check it out properly at some point.

That's cool to know there's still an active following out there! I guess I shouldn't be surprised, I'm part of a fandom that's been necroed a few times, myself. Out of curiosity, are there any other major fan projects in the works?

You might know! It's a pretty cool game so far. I totally had to download it myself.

But as far as others. Honestly, not that I know of. I just know of that one ^-^
No idea what that is! But if you wanna explain what it is, I'll happily listen. :p

It was an interesting show when I was a kid. It was about four kids finding and turning on a supercomputer. It held a deadly computer virus named X.A.N.A that could pretty much manifest enough of its being to control things in the real world. The only reason the kids did not shut down the machine was that there was a really nice girl AI in the computer that didn't remember or understand why she was there. Apparently, one of the kids had grown a crush on her and desired to materialize her. So now most of the story is them fighting off X.A.N.A until the bookworm/computer wiz finds a way to get her out of there. I still enjoy it to this day. (Minus the small little things I tend to nitpick )
Yeah, that's the gist of it. Rogue computer program wants to escape its supercomputer prison but keeps being thwarted by those meddling kids, for various reasons.

Honestly, my favorite season is still the first. It wasn't perfect, with questionable QC at times, but I thought it was the most creative and I generally prefer a more episodic format (so I'm a little biased here). The stakes had no business being so high sometimes and I get kinda bummed thinking about how that faded throughout S2 in lieu of XANA just deciding he was gonna possess people most of the time. Maybe I'm remembering it wrong but I don't think S3-4 made that big of an impression on me for that reason? It only really picked up for me during the final two or three eps.

I do have to agree with you on that. I wish it happened more gradually. Like Xana is learning that he can do more powerful things. I guess that's what all those little moments of him capturing Aelita is for? Gaining the knowledge to do so? No idea.I remember binge watching it at one point...but yea a lot of it is pretty much a blur. The very last season was okay in my book. Of what I can remember of it anyway. Then Evolution came out and I didn't feel that either. But I will be trying to watch it anyway just to get the whole serious done. ...One of these days.

I certainly loved Code Lyoko during my childhood days when I watched it on Cartoon Network. My friend and I used to get excited discussing about the highlights of each episode and looking forward to watching new ones. It felt interesting then, but I dropped cable so I wasn't able to watch my favorite programs.
