What's the coolest and/or most cursed object you've found while thrifting or antiquing?

I picked up a bottle of embalming fluid today. Sealed, almost perfect condition. It's likely from the 20s or 30s.

Super poisonous. Forbidden drink.
That's pretty cool/creepy, Yersinia.

I can't think of any yardsale or thrift finds that come close... Guess I need to start hitting the thrift stores more often!
Never anything nearly so amazing/disturbing, I think. I've also had to try to stay vigilant about talking myself out of things I don't have a clear use for, because limited monies and space, and hording tendencies. Let's see though...

I actually got really excited about a totally normal dress. Sort of elegant prom-ish, nothing amazing. I thought it was pretty, and I thought "why not go ahead and try on the pretty thing?" and then I discovered it fit ridiculously perfect, like better than most other clothes I've ever had. Sooo... I got it. And eventually found an excuse to wear it.

(Fear of wasting/ruining things also interferes with me doing much crafty stuff.)

There was also a perfectly normal and dull bookshelf my roommate picked up at a yard sale. He had to talk the sellers into taking more money for it because, considering the good shape it was in, he felt too bad about how low they asked for it.

I also once, as a kid, got these really neat stuffed animal. Like... some sort of squirrel-monkey thing with a rat tail and butterfly wings. My older brother was pretty jealous. He said it was a character from some Michael Jackson movie, and he was still super into Michael Jackson at the time.

Ooh, there was a pair of dance shoes once, and in my size! Something like this in style. I'm not a dancer or anything, but I really appreciated those shoes. Might get another pair some day.

Geez, your roommate must be a really nice person to talk them up.
I got a desk before, and a dining room table. Oh, and luggage. It was the most ridiculous, flowery luggage, but luggage is ridiculously expensive and I needed to fly somewhere, so -- bam -- flowery luggage that's completely functional for like 1/10th the price -- just fine with me.

Ooooh! And the top (the tunic) of a Star Trek: The Next Generation uniform. It was a little too tight, and it was blue, for medical, but I was just psyched to have a Star Trek uniform (because you can wear any black pants and it's passable as a uniform). I totally geeked out and wore it to the premire of the first JJ Abrams reboot of the Star Trek movie franchise. And several times on Halloween. It was fun. I'm basically always playing Dr. Beverly Crusher, because I have long, straight hair and the uniform is blue, so...yeah. But still! Fun.

Sounds like a cool find! And convenient that you're one wardrobe change away from being a Star Trek character.

Found this in a free bin today:

It's a fortune cup or a tasseomancy cup for tea leaf reading. The art's kind of funny and it's missing the saucer, but it's a neat novelty item. Supposedly you upend it once you're finished your tea, rotate it three times, and interpret the symbols that the tea dredges stick to.
Oh, and we never buy them, but I forgot to mention the creepy or otherwise wrong figures. Things that were perhaps okay in the time they were made but not anymore (whether it's uncanny valley or creepy/pervy implications), things with particular flaws (whether in manufacture or damage), things that really are okay unless you think just the wrong thing when looking at it...

Unfortunately, I don't have pictures.
