Why is it that some words on a character's site are being underlined, made into URL's and produce ads when hovered over? Is it a new site feature or a glitch?

Those are Ads, I believe... I had that problem too. I believe it's an add-on that's been installed under your nose or... some malware, idk. It's easily removable.

Ack, ok. Any idea of what add-on it was specifically or, is a general clean-up required? It's happening on pretty much every RPR page I go on, more or less.

First of all, does it always happen on RPR? It should be happening to you every where there is text like.. google results, e-mails, etc etc. Basically any where there is a lot of text to read. And what browser you using?

Instal firefox, add the ad on ad blocker plus, dont instal anything else, scan your pc for a virus...do that and you should be set

Yeah, this isn't the RPR. I would NEVER do this to you guys. This is an annoying plugin that's sneaked into your browser. Can you tell us what browser you use?

It's an add-on that was installed without you knowing about it. It's usually called "text enhance" or something of that nature and can be found in your extension list.

I suggest following the steps provided on this page: http://botcrawl.com/how-to-remove-text-enhance/

Multiple browsers are covered in this guide so you should have no problem getting this figured out. Note: this ad-ware extension may also have a different name. I strongly suggest going through all your add-ons and removing every single one that you don't remember installing, or know you're not using and can get rid of. Scroll down to the Text Enhance add-ons, extensions, and toolbars list on this page for a full list of possible add-on names.

I don't recommend proceeding with disabling Flash and so forth.

There may be additional ad-ware on your computer that's caused the installation of this. If you don't have it already, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (click) is a good program to install and use regularly. If you scan your computer with this weekly, the chances of this sort of infection returning is very slim.

Hope this helps!

Sorted it! A games thing had installed itself, and removing that seems to have done the job :) Thanks guys.

Phew! So glad you managed to get rid of that crap.
