I used to roleplay on various websites (chatango, facebook, final fantasy) but most of the communities that I roleplay with are starting to die out. Either nobody is online or I simply can't find a decent person to roleplay with me. My characters are a little bit on the cringe/edge lord side, but I try to keep them a little bit interesting and I'm always willing to listen to advice and I love trying out new ideas.

If you're wanting to find folks who're ready to RP, might I suggest the Find RP tool? It'll give you a runthrough of a number of recently active posters, and you can search for different ranges of genre-types and posting styles to help you find something you'll enjoy.

Hi there Zuzumen, welcome to RPR! As you will soon see, the community and mstaff are fun, friendly, welcoming and helpful! If you haven't yet, we recommend browsing the tutorial, it's got a ton of helpful tips and guides for all sorts of different RP-related subjects, from making characters to looking for RP partners--even experienced roleplayers may find things they hadn't thought of, I know I sure did. And if you're still not sure about something on the site after checking out the tutorial, feel free to ask questions of the mods and anyone else who offers to help.
If you're hankering for some specific kind of RP, we have an awesome Find RP tool that has a bunch of neat filters and stuff you can use to look for particulars. If you just wanna browse, you can go straight to the Looking For RP forum (which you have already done, glad to see you exploring already )and see if anything there catches your eye, or even post ideas of your own!
Or if you just wanna chat for a bit as you decide what kind of characters you want to make, we have a place for Smalltalk too!
And above all...hope you have fun and stick around a while to make a bunch of RP friends! These people being friendly sure helped me decide to stay, too, when I was new!

You guys are super helpful, thanks so much. I'll be sure to look at everything and hopefully find an idea on what I want to do. I'm usually pretty nervous when posting publicly, so I may end up doing private messages only. This place seems like it'll be lots of fun. I've already made my first character, though it's not very good since I didn't put a whole lot of thought into it. Again, thanks you guys. I feel very welcomed.

You know, if you're inclined to do so, there is a way to create characters and use them anonymously so that they won't be tied to your account. It's a pretty neat feature.

Not to worry if you're a shy creature. I'm not shy in the least but I still keep my stories to my inbox simply because I'm a bit of a scatterbrained twit and I would lose track of them otherwise. There are loads of folks on here who are more than okay with PM roleplays, I promise!
