I just want to share while it's in my mind.

So brain, while I was sleeping, was doing its usual story dream thing. In this most recent case, some folks moved in (my brain initially made it black folks moving in next to racists, now that I'm thinking about it, but... didn't bother to keep anyone black or any kind of non-white after that... Well thanks, brain. :/ ) Anyway. Family already there has a young daughter, probably around 7-9 years old, with a physical deformity that's most apparent in her face. New family has a daughter who's friendly and stuff, and probably around 11-13. They aren't supposed to interact because younger girl's family are jerks, but the start playing when parents are gone anyway.

This is not going where you think it's going.

The younger girl is increasingly doing things that are likely to get the older girl in trouble as they play. There's a growing sense of menace that starts really booming when, at one point, the older girl gets uncomfortable, wants to get away from situation, and tells younger girl something to try to make her stay in her home while older girl goes to her own home to try figuring out how not to end up in trouble. Older girl leave younger girl behind, hurries home, and finds the younger girl somehow already there, as if she teleported over. It definitely becomes a horror at this point, and includes another menacing little girl coming in and... I think like robotic dogs or something, but I can't remember if they were part of the problem...

Then suddenly these other kids come running in, all in the 10-14 range, and my brain recognizes them. It has the distinct reaction of "Hey, I've seen them in previous episodes, and now they're all together, like a big Marvel crossover thing" even though at this point, I can't remember any prior thing I knew them from. But they hurry in, and they held the older girl escape from these two deranged little girls, although I think the little girls successfully kill one of the older kids by, like, biting half her head off. But she's at least temporarily still alive while they escape, somehow.

The kids all rush to this building party on the water while monsters and stuff chase after them, because the docks are safe. The monsters won't go out on them, as the group of kids has learned, and they figure that the river is blessed or something. All of these beings that want them dead are just hanging out waiting to get at them, and David Bowie dressed as the Goblin King is among them for some reason, and everyone gets sorta excited about that for a few minutes.

Anyway, the kids start explaining that they all have things they were "promised." Not prizes, but more like duties, and them rescuing the one girl so she could join their ranks was one of the things "promised." They have various skills and things predicted about them in these "promises," included one kid whose shtick is really just to say clever lines at the right time; he gets to be a cool kid, and everyone else gets a little stress relief out of it. They can resist or ignore the things they are "promised," which just seem to come as impulses they are meant to follow, but the results tend to be much worse that way. All the while, that recognition of groups of them is still there, even though I can't identify them now.

Anyway, woke up around them settling in to eat with what odd scraps of food they'd gathered.

Hmm it's unsettling indeed but not disturbing, I don't know what to say but I like to think dream must have reason behind them whenever it's something related to memories, desires, fears or even spiritually related. I think it something worth analyzing.

Honestly this is pretty standard for me. Just usually not that particular type of manace (and menace at all only sometimes) or that weird recognition. XD

Dreams with distinct plots? Oddly typical for me.
That's crazy! And interesting!
Happens to me too...but not the horror stuff. But odd plots!

I don't usually like to recall my dreams, however I do remember one, very odd and humourous one (Its short and not terribly exciting, but it made me wake up and chuckle).

Some years ago, I had a thing for mermaid-like things, more so on the tentacled-Ursula type. (Strange I know)

So in said dream, I started out as a lonely prince (Eric, I can assume at first) who heard a beautiful voice deep in the ocean, and upon diving into the water to follow the music, I turn into a little grey crab. This poor little crab gets chased around by some sharks (who look suspiciously like those from Finding Nemo) and ends up hiding in a castle with a beautiful woman locked away inside, but as I am still a crab, I can do nothing but wave my pincers at her as I skitter across the floor.
None too soon, I discover she is not indeed a lovely lady, but a green evil queen. Who has locked all the ocean away in her "Pandora's box".
Using my mighty pincers, I break the lock, free the ocean, and suddenly turn into a tentacly mermaid kissing a very different and confused looking prince. And the queen shriveled up and died.

The end.

(Yes I enjoy Disney movies far too much for my own good.)
