Hi, I just found and joined this site. I'm primarily a one on one roleplayer and have been for much of my life but have mostly just been RPing with my irl partner for the past few years so I'm probably pretty rusty. I also write in my spare time, typically fanfic but occasionally original stuff. I'm really into fandoms and typically have 1-3 that I'm really into at any given time, usually video games, cartoons/anime, comics, or books in that order of likelihood. My favorite word is ostensibly. If you want to know more about me, just ask!

Hello Ciriun! Welcome to RPR! I am sure you will shake that rust off in no time, though in my experience, people aren't as rusty as they think they are 
If you are looking to RP in a specific world or fandom I'd suggests looking at the LFRP where you can search for keywords in the search option. Or making a post to look for players in the Find RP. You can find lots of 1x1 players and games all across RPR Happy gaming!

Thanks everyone! I've made a post in the LFRP section and I'm playing with the Find RP tool. I also keep seeing the suggestion to add characters, but I'm not sure I should if I mostly play Fandom characters. Is that okay to do?

Hiiii! Welcome to RPR! Taking breaks from RPing with others is needed sometimes, but I bet you're not as rusty as you think you are! It's easy to get back into the flow of things once you get the words going, but especially since you were still writing with your partner. I hope you find a lot of friends to write games with.

If you haven't yet, we recommend browsing the tutorial, it's got a ton of helpful tips and guides for all sorts of different RP-related subjects, from making characters to looking for RP partners--even experienced roleplayers may find things they hadn't thought of, I know I sure did. And if you're still not sure about something on the site after checking out the tutorial, feel free to ask questions of the mods and anyone else who offers to help.
If you're hankering for some specific kind of RP (and it definitely looks like you are with that amazing level of detail
), we have an awesome Find RP tool that has a bunch of neat filters and stuff you can use to look for particulars. If you just wanna browse, you can go straight to the Looking For RP forum and see if anything there catches your eye, or even post ideas of your own!
Or if you just wanna chat for a bit as you decide what kind of characters you want to make, we have a place for Smalltalk too!
And above all...hope you have fun and stick around a while to make a bunch of RP friends! These people being friendly sure helped me decide to stay, too, when I was new!

I definitely understand where you are coming from. Stepping out of that comfort zone from merely writing with your significant other was where I was about 3 years ago.
