Artemis Swanton (played anonymously)

Prompt: Y/C is the quarterback of the high school football team and one of the most popular guys at school (maybe Y/C also has a girlfriend?). Artemis is a percussionist (plays drums) in the school band. Often during football games, the band plays before the game and during halftime. Artemis often watches Y/C play, even though he doesn’t understand football. What happens when Y/C notices Artemis and they get to talking? How will the rest of the school react to the straight, popular football player and the openly gay, weird band member hanging out?

Sorry if this sucks; it’s late at night when I’m typing this.
I know that it’s sort of cliche but I’m in the mood for some cliche gay romance.
There will likely be drama since it is high school.
I’m asking for at least a paragraph per reply and for a fair bit of description in them.
I know that Artemis isn’t a teenager. I’ll be lowering his age to 17 during this RP. You can do the same if your character is an adult as well.
It’s expected that Y/C starts off as "straight" and slowly develops gay feelings.
