Hello, I'm Fallaner. I'm 20, turning 21 next month (haaa... I just realized I input 8 instead of 9 when entering my birthday when registering... oops), and a currently-jobless hack.
I'm an admittedly fairly shy person when it comes to talking in places unfamiliar, which has currently resulted in staring at this text block for at least... 3 minutes before even typing "Hello". I found this place due to the pushing of one of my RPing partners who's currently on a break, since I didn't have anyone else to RP with in my friend group. Admittedly, quite a bit of pushing.
As mentioned before, I've RPed before, but solely with very good friends, stretching back at least... 8 or 9 years now, with varying degrees of... quality, or lack thereof. My own personal RPing tastes tends to align towards a combination of science fiction with fantasy elements, though I also quite like fantasy on it's own. I've been a fan of knights since I was a kid, and liked to pretend I was one as my most common game growing up.
As a result of only Rping with friends I know though, I've found I get rather nervous these days when I try to RP with anyone new, or in a new environment, and forum Rping is... very new to me, as I'm used to game-based Rping, tabletop RPing, and chatroom-based Rping.
I'd, hopefully, like to find some new friends to RP with here.
For some more basic information about myself, have some hobbies!
I quite enjoy playing video games, primarily RPGs and strategy games, with a large enjoyment of visual novels as well.
I also quite enjoy writing as a hobby, having turned many of my old RP characters I liked into characters in my own little fictional universe. If you manage get me started on this topic, I'll probably never shut up about it until I've wasted a good hour, or more, telling you about it. So... don't get me started on it.

When you're ready to jump into an RP, check out the Looking for RP sub-forum. That's where folks scout for RP partners or recruit players for their group games.
I'd guess that most RP here actually takes place via PM, so you certainly don't have to jump into a forum game to find RP here! Though, with that said, there are several open RP games going on right now over in the Fantasy RP forum. See if anything catches your interest!

If ever looking for something specific, I suggest LFRP as that will help you to narrow down your search and see the options others have posted in trying to find a game. As well as Find RP which presents you with even more options. Happy gaming!

When I first heard of this place I stayed quiet and lurked in the background for quite literally a year or so before I actually started an RP with anyone and I had no close friends who RPed so there wasn't any choice. But anyway, I see you like knights, and that's v e r y g o o d taste.
RPR (in my experience) leans towards forum/chat based RP but if you don't like RPing in a public space like me you can always play a game with someone over PM. Both forum and PM roleplay have a button to pop out the window like a chat too which might make your experience more comfortable. I'm always looking for friends on RPR, especially because I've come back from a hiatus and everything is too quiet so if you ever want to talk about fantasy things, the games you play and whatever you're worldbuilding, PM me! Also, if you don't already, feel proud for introducing yourself here in so much detail, I respect that. 👍
