There was a legend, where 3 swords were created with the help of the Gods. They gave the user immense abilities and could help them fight the gods. But when the war of the Nine Realms started, the swords just disappear. The war continued, with Odin, yes Odin making only 5 realms available. Midgard, Helheim, Alfhem, Muspelheim, and Niflheim. One of the swords was found in Helheim, where your character is stuck in, due to punishment for going AWOL, and the other sword is in Alfheim. Now your job is to find the runes so that you can travel to the third sword and runes to the other realms to see if you can stop this war.
Magic is very common. Magic-tech, grand floating islands, forests that sing, magical creatures may be an every-day occurrence.
Bronze age
More combat than not. The setting may be at war, and the characters will likely get involved whether or not they seek it out.
