The girl quietly sighed to herself, wondering how she had let such a foolish old man trick her into the festive...convincing her it would surely be a treat. However, she quickly found out that he had simply wanted to do something special for the holiday. Something...spooky.
She pinned the last glowing ghost to the wall, standing back to look at the decorations she had been setting up for the last four hours.

Signs and stickers displayed discounts and offers, in light of this being the first time the cafe has done any sort of festive celebrations or decorating. The aura was refreshing, and...she wasn't sure what to think of it. Perhaps this would get more customers...

She let out a small huff as she opened the door and held it open with a doorstopper peg. She then made sure the bowl of candy was out on the counter for the children, and leaned against the counter as she let out a small huff, blowing a strand of hair from her face. She hadn't dressed up herself; she simply wore her ripped, blue jeans with her brown caramel nike shoes, as well as a loose tank top. She didn't wear her caramel hoodie, so the muscles on her arms showed and flexed with each movement. She waited patiently behind the counter, hoping to get somewhat of her father wanted to consider a mini-party.
He stood patiently around. He was pale and lanky, but still had love and joy plastered all over his face. He was making sure the place was spotless before people arrived. If people arrived...
Lux loved coffee, so as he was walking, simply minding his own business and looking for places to trick or treat at, the Downtown cafe's signage caught his eye. He was all dressed up as Stephanie from lazy town, just for the pure humor of it. His hair was pink, after all, and Lazy Town, well, that was his childhood.
He stepped into the cafe and greeted the girl at the cafe,"Hello!" he waved,"how are you?" he stepped up to the counter with a grin on his face, eager to see a reaction to his costume.

The girl watched the boy enter, a small smile rising to her face. She found it a bit odd, but she wasn't a single bit judgemental; if a person wanted to dress up as the opposite sex, then...she'd say go for it. She wouldn't tell you that it's outright outrageous or strange, because she wasn't that type of person.
"Hello~" The girl giggled a little, her smile only becoming softer as her father watched the interaction with a weak, father-ly smile resting upon his lips. "I'm alright! A bit exhausted from setting up all the decorations," she motioned to the countless halloween themed decorations hung up and plastered everywhere. "How are you? And what can I get ya?"

As soon as the words left his mouth she wanted to facepalm but refrained. That's the one thing she had forgotten...the shortcake. She took in a small breath but hid her small frustration behind a bright smile, nodding. "I'll get right onto it. The shortcake might take a bit longer, so you can take a seat if you'd like! I'll bring the mocha over when it's done, too." She nodded a little, "I'm glad you're doing well!"
After that, she hurriedly got out a cup and a bowl, and began to multitask; she grabbed a bowl, still a little annoyed with herself but she didn't let it show.

Kota Etune was in her hero costume, because why not? she wore a black skin tight body suit, with a black jacket over it. an army green utility belt around her waist that carries adrenaline shots and other medical supplies, along with black sneakers -or combat boots, i cant decide- to top it off.

The girl rubbed her forehead as she quickly began doing what she does best. She was quick to make the mocha, while also grabbing out a bowl and a few ingredients to whip up a small shortcake. When the mocha was finished, the girl quickly headed over to where Lux sat down and placed it on a nearby table carefully. "One mocha. The shortcake will be over shortly." She then retreated behind the counter and began making the shortcake when someone else walked in.
"Yep! If you'd like to chose, please take your time! You get one free drink and one free baked treat." She was mixing some stuff in the bowl when she saw someone else. She set the bowl down slightly before listening and nodded. "Is there any particular type or doughnut you'd like?" She smiled slightly, being polite.

"Thank you!" Lux chirped, sipping his mocha and looking at the other people in costume with intrest. This was quite a lovely little cafe. Yes indeed. Lux vowed to return here often. It wasn't too far from his apartment.

When asked what kind of doughnut he wanted, the demon rubbed the side of his neck thoughtfully, "Surprise me? Am not picky." He just wanted a snack, and noticed that she was already horridly busy. He'd make it easy on her and take whatever she currently had available.

She nodded, setting the bowl and the spoon down. Her father saw this and the old man chuckled, slowly stumbling his fragile figure over to the counter. Sarah was rummaging through the mugs when she saw her father pick up the bowl and begin to continue to make the shortcake. The old man smiled politely towards the two at the counter before looking over to his daughter.
"This is what happens when you forget things, shortbread." He chuckled softly as he thoroughly mixed the ingredients.
"I know...I'm sorry pap. You're the one who wanted me to put up the decorations instead of triple checking the food." She pulled out one of the langer mugs and began looking for the coffee beans.
"I suppose that's true. You focus on this young man's order and I'll get this done."
The girl nodded and began making the coffee. As the coffee machine did it's magic, she carefully opened the back of the desert display cabinet and pulled out one of the freshly made glazed donuts, the top of it coated in what looked to be a light, fluffy vanilla icing, using a napkin instead of her actual hands, because she knew how sensitive some people could be to germs, even though she washed her hands. She then put a different napkin down (a clean one) and placed the doughnut on top of it before throwing the other one away. She then finished his coffee and set it down next to the doughnut.
She glanced at her father before blinking once. "Er- that'll be $3.90." She smiled politely again, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

Glad there was at least two people in front of her she had plenty of time to figure out what she wanted.

Clyde was already inside, tapping his finger as he dressed up as the Plague Doctor, but he was wearing the mask, the hat, a scarf with the pants and the boots, but no shirt to show off his well-toned body. He sat down quietly, his mask dangling off his neck as he took a sip of water. He looked around. Maybe someone he knew was here?
Hers was a black Americano, stifling and dark enough to purify sin itself. And like her Halloween, Nancy would take it with a treat on the side.

The dwarf walked in the cafe with his ww1 german uniform with a gas mask that covered his entire head. Yet it was somewhat comical with his short height but with the way he acted and talked it was also scary at the same time. He then climbed into a chair a sat down.
Dimitri smiled warmly when the doughnut and coffee were ready, digging in his pocket for his wallet. It took very little time to find a five dollar bill to hand to her. "Keep change," he winked, nodding to the older gentleman that was watching her thus far, the one she'd called 'pap'. "Eez zat right?" he laughed, regarding the macchiato comment, "Never had one. Next time, maybe." How she liked her Halloween? Dark, maybe? Hmm. He smiled none the less, as if that comment didn't go right over his head. A toast of the coffee cup was given to the rest of the line as he gracefully slid around them to leave.
That abyssal gaze took in each costume on his way out curiously, offering smiles to any that actually looked his direction before departing. On to the next one.
