Hey all! I've been in a reading slump lately and just can't seem to get out- I read The Illuminae Files (SciFi- Horror- Mystery trilogy, honestly fantastic) and haven't found anything that has clicked with me quite so well.

So! In an attempt to find stuff I might like (and see what other people love), I'm starting this thread! Post your favorite book or book series here!! :D
I absolutely love The Talented Mr. Ripley by Patricia Highsmith

Its a 5 book series and it has no magic or fantasy in it but its basically a psychological thriller/crime series! Though you follow the main character who is the killer so you see the story through his eyes its such a good series!! Not only that but every book is pretty much a stand alone so you wouldn't have to read every single one, just the first book is great <3
Wildwood is a middle-school aged book but i found it really nice and inspiring!! It's a trilogy and kind of simple. It's Multi-POV, takes place in Portland, Oregon, USA kind of. It's like a sort of modern high fantasy with talking animals, princes, animatronics, a lot of things!! it's really fun!

I’m a bit old-school and love J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Other book series I like is The Black Company book series. It’s a fantasy world seen from the point of view of the common soldiers. The first three books make a good trilogy story, with the 4th a stand-alone side story. If you like it so far, then there are six more books focusing on some of the characters.

Another is Dune. The first book I’d goid, and the 2nd snd 3rd are good extensions. It gets a bit muddled after that.

I basically love ALL books written by Tamora Pierce in the realm of Tortall. The books are broken down into mini-series format, so four about this specific character being the main, four about this, etc etc. The first set were a little smaller and not her best writing but still a great time to read when I was younger and really getting into that 'thirsty for books' stage. She developed as a writer WITH her books, and I was so blown away by it. I re-read them from time to time.

Sweep by Cait Tiernan is a book series about witches which was really neat to read/follow though the first one really has a Twilight vibe with the romance in it.

The Circle Triolgy by Ted Dekker was a wild ride. It's a set that you really have to pay attention to; a man basically wakes up in another reality and realizes that his reality is the past of that.. reality?? And has to use things from this new world to help his version of it, but it's hard to explain further without giving things away. I was so caught up in that series I read it at work and home and while eating and just.. Forever until it was suddenly over lol
