Musicians, both amateur (like me) and professional. Both young and old. Beginning, experienced and aspiring. Give a shout out. What instrument(s) do you play? Or want to learn?

I play clarinet, bass clarinet, and enough piano to make people who don't play piano THINK I play piano. ;)

I've actually taught myself how to play piano along with guitar and alto saxophone.... I learned how to play recorder in 3rd grade and ukulele in 6th grade along with the rest of my class at the time. I do want to learn how to play the drums so I think I'll do that once one of my friends actually gets back home from his trip to Paris (which I wish he brought me with him on).

Nice! That's a lot of instruments. Ukelele looks fun. I'd like to learn to play ukelele. I think it would help me to learn the chords for guitar without getting all those callouses right at first.

Paris -- yeah, I feel you. Haha.

Ukulele and guitar are actually different.... Ukulele actually has 4 strings while guitar has 6 or more. It will help a little but not very much honestly
I have been learning piano on and off for about 5 to 6 years ish, and I know to play enough erhu to let my relatives who don’t play it to be slightly impressed, but relatives that do play erhu knows that I suck, a lot. I’ve tried learning the flute like, once in the past but I never really got past twinkle twinkle little star with it 😂

That’s definitely a lot of instruments @0@ And all by yourself? You must be very dedicated then, and very, very disciplined hahaha I don’t even want to imagine what your schedule is like trying to practice those regularly.

Oooh. Thank you, I honestly never knew that.

I've actually been trying to learn how to play piano and actually Felicia_Marie2000 is helping me out with that right now.... She's been making me do Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and a few other nursery rhymes.
I've been wanting to learn how to play the violin for the longest time. I always loved the way music sounded whenever somebody played. Especially those sweet yet haunting tunes. Although I am related to someone who knows how to play guitar and the flute.

I owned a Fender Stratacaster for a number of years in my youth. Never was really good at it. Still have my Hohner Blues harp in C. Learned to play it but haven't played it in over a decade. My pre-adolescent dream of being in a band never materialised past me and a couple Jr High friends jamming Black Sabbath covers in a basement. My character Darrell Sanders is everything I wanted to be musically when I was in 8th grade.

I actually was only able to do that when I was in high school so I'm not really able to do it now until I get the money so I can buy my own instruments but I am able to play at The_White_Rabbit house when I can.... And as she said I have been teaching her so actually it's going well!

That's impressive, Birdy. Now, when I say I "play" the piano, I'm about like you were with the flute. Well...maybe a little better than that, but it's like...I can count on one hand the songs I can play well. Those are the ones that I use to impress non-piano players with. LOL. I can play "Imagine" by John Lennon, "Heart and Soul" (this old peppy beginners' tune), "Dixie," "Lean on Me," and "Pachebell's Cannon."

Everything else, I sound like a kid fumbling around a bit. XD Or I can play chords only and accompany simple songs (C, E, G... repeat lol). Like, say, "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star"...haha. In other words--you'd blow me away with you playing! I'd be totally fooled and impressed by your Celine Dion song and all the others, I'm quite sure.

But yeah, classical pianists seem superhuman XD. Lol
Ukulele (^:

I can play...
"Kashmir" By Led Zeppelin
"Come As You Are" by Nirvana
"Island In The Sun" by Weezer
"Can't Help Falling In Love" by Twenty-One Pilots. (Cover, obviously. Love ya Elvis, but this version sounded better on my uke.)
"Feel Good Inc." by Gorillaz

and.. I have made up a few tunes of my own. I have this one blues tune I made up and it sounds phenomenal! Just sayin'..

Bass player 15 years harmonica still learning🎸
I have a 5-string banjo that I absolutely cannot play except for serenading my lizard (Clementine) with Oh My Darling Clementine lmao.

It was tucked in a corner of my family's house untouched for seven years, which I thought was a shame, so I just took it the last time I visited. Don't know how to do much aside from tuning it. The hick blood is strong in me, so I'll look into lessons someday and figure out how to play the dang thing.
French horn for 8 years! Also interchanged with the mellophone for marching/sports band because the band director made us. I can also play various wooden flutes and my dad taught me how to play harmonicas when I was kid! I want to teach myself clarinet, but I've got other things on my plate at the moment.

I love all those songs.

Hmm...Nirvana on a ukelele? So... unexpected! That must sound neat.

Yep yep, it is my belief that everyone who plays an instrument has written an original tune...or at least a snippet of one. It's like...this human drive. We must create. :) <3

That all sounds pretty good actually, 10/10 can impress anybody with your piano skills. Most people don’t expect others to suddenly go for Fur Elise or idk...the Bumblebee right from the bat hahahaha.
😚😚😚 Can’t believe you remembered that though. Hhh (celine dion)

And...

Classical pianists don’t seem superhuman, they are superhuman. The joke is that there are only 24 hours in a day but classical pianists somehow manage to practice for 26 hours per day. 🤨 😂😂😂
