No one knows when, how, or why it happened, but there have been several cases of cordyceps fungi infecting humans. (You know, the kind of fungi that infect bugs and stuff and take over there minds. It's a real thing look it up)
Now, it might not sound like that big a deal until you consider the fact that it makes the victim extremely hostile, and scratchy, and bitey...
But hey, no big deal, right?
Just don't get bit, scratched, touched, or gauged and you'll be fine~!
Oh, and don't inhale any spores. That's how this whole thing started.
Ooh, and I almost forgot- Don't starve either!
Okay, now that you got the basics down, it's time for the story!
It's been two hours since the first report of the outbreak, and already people are boarding up their windows and locking their doors. And rightfully so- It's TOTAL anarchy outside! I'm talkin' riots, trash fires, and general craziness all over the city!
But amidst the chaos, you hear a high-pitched shriek from the next apartment over, followed by a loud W H A C K!!
Since you still have a bit of humanity left, you grab the nearest thing that can qualify as a weapon and go to help. When you get there, you are met with a horrible sight-
In the middle of the room stands a girl. You know her, but you don't "know" her. She's just the girl who lives next door.
But at this moment, she just so happens to be covered in blood, holding a bat, and standing before what looks like one of those infected people on the news with their head smashed in.
She's in the verge of tears, and she looks at you with pleading eyes, as if asking you to help undo the deed she has just done.
The zombie aspects are based off of the "The Last of Us" franchise.
I figured it would be fun to give it some more anime like themes.
