For promnight.

There is literally...what, two or three more weeks before my class’ prom night and I literally don’t have time to look for a shop that sells, or rents dresses (not that there is any in the area with something that people in my age range would even want to be seen in), or to buy one online so...

The criteria is a dress- that is all to it.

So does anyone have any tips on how to pair together outfits that are not dresses into something that looks vaguely like a dress that is suitable for something like a prom night?

Help. I literally can’t right now 😂

One of my friends who had Prom last year paired together a flowy blue blouse with a beautiful blue skirt, and used a thick black belt to hide the hem of the skirt (she tucked the blouse into the hem of the skirt). It was really pretty and I think only one or two people realised it wasn't a dress.

So the idea is to get something with the same type of fabric, in the same colour, pray that the lighting at the venue is trash and maybe go for a belt? 😂

Might work
I can't help -- I don't know ANYthing about clothes, but I hope you enjoy it!
A belt over a skirt and shirt is one of my go-to moves for making a dress when you don't have one.

One extra tip is that you don't need to match the skirt to the top exactly. I find that complementary colors/patterns can sometimes pass better as a dress that came with a belt. However, a black top with a black skirt is usually a very safe bet that can look super nice.

I don't know what your closet looks like in terms of patterns and colors and whatnot, but as long as you have at least one skirt, there's a lot you can do.

Hope this helps!
