Hey all, I'm Steve. I haven't been on a forum like this in a while now, and it's weird coming back to one. I haven't done text-based roleplays in a while, though since I last did one I've gotten experience from a couple of Dungeons and Dragons campaigns (probably about half a year of text based experience and three-ish years of tabletop).
I've been slipping on writing recently, and I thought that in order to both remedy that and the endless void that a week without D&D fills me with, maybe I could try doing this again. I have a few characters here and there from my campaigns that I like to use and tailor to settings and plots. (I have a habit of taking player characters I never get to play and making them minor NPCs in my own campaigns hehe)
My favorite genres tend to be high fantasy, romance (preferably MxM but anything is good), adventure, and anything that involves good ol' world building. Hope to talk to y'all soon!

There's quite a few D&D players here, so you'll find a nice mix of folks who like to supplement their stories with some die rolls and those that prefer freeform.
And I hear ya about the NPCs! Though mine tend to be the other way 'round... I make an NPC to fit a role and then they sorta grow on me and turn into a fully fledged character. Some of my favorite ones came about that way!

Hey hello! Juls is right, there's a lot of people here who play D&D (I'm one of them, though I've yet to try playing a campaign on here). That's not a bad idea for how to use your PCs who don't get screentime, though- as someone who's been cursed/blessed with eternal GM-itude, I might need to give that a shot! 
Thank you all! I'll see what I could do about maybe running a D&D type campaign on here, and if not, maybe just some other things I'd be interested in. I'll go ahead and start browsing some of the forums
