Inferno ran. There was no choice. They were all gone. Ellie, Dusk, Conifer, Chu, Bell, Longboi, Lilly, Nick, Ivy, Jake... all of them, captured in a single battle for survival. The entire gang, taken at once to be distributed across human society and forced to fight for the amusement of Pokémon trainers. Now, the scorbunny was alone. Defeated. Battered, bruised and with his ear torn, he ran and ran and ran until he could run no more.

Inferno wasn't sure how long he had been out. When he awoke in an unknown forest clearing, all he knew was that he was safe for now. But his friends were not. Only one thing was on his mind - he had to save them. And maybe, somehow, save the rest of Pokémon kind. Little did he know that a rebellion was brewing. And that a fateful encounter awaited him that would draw his destiny into it...


I'm looking for players (1x1, but I can do multiple RPs with this idea) who can play a human or Pokémon character willing to join the battle for Pokémon freedom. The only real limit with humans is that a Pokémon trainer would likely not work well (unless they were retired or if part of the story involves persuading them to stop capturing Pokémon and set their own collection free), as in this alternate world, Pokémon are very much unwilling participants in Pokémon battles and life inside Pokéballs is generally undesirable.

As outlined in the above example, I will be using Inferno, my scorbunny character.

A few ground rules specific to this world:

- Wild starter Pokémon are somewhat rare due to domestication.
- Pokémon don't speak by repeating their names. Instead, they make animalistic noises based on their game-style 'cry'. In this universe, Pokémon can understand each other as if they are speaking. If you are playing a human character, we can work out communication specific to them.
- Certain more 'intelligent' Pokémon have villages or tribes, but no modern technological capability beyond scavenged human creations. However, the Pokémon rebellion may (or may already have) at some point capture human settlements or enough resources to reduce the technology gap, depending on how things work out.
- Pokémon anatomy will follow realistic logic. A non-psychic Pokémon with no thumbs might require both arms to lift things. Quadrupedal Pokémon who aren't comfortable standing upright will struggle with object manipulation.
- Being caught in a Pokéball is like being trapped in a void with no physical senses. Most Pokémon are not conscious whilst trapped and some even dream. 'Tamed' Pokémon are often conditioned to be actively ready to fight the moment they are summoned.

I will use my character hybrid Alolan-normal vulpix, named Kai.
