(Necessary OOC mumbo jumbo ouo

Setting: Terieb is a small town about 200 miles outside of the holy city Asesos. It's known for it's expert smiths and local military base. The towns hotspot is the Salopan Tavern. There are two temples, one on the west end and one on the sound end. The west being toward the goddess Danphe, the south being toward the god Raphi. The climate is cool, foggy, and wet. A thick forest surrounds the town, hardly anyone goes out alone because its extremely dangerous. Hostile Crovians and wildlife lurk these woods. Large mountains are in the distance, the Crovian city of Moordellor can be seen if the fog clears enough. The city often ends up attacked by small bands of Crovians.
*Crovians are a race that I made up for this world a while back. Reference image.

Story: There is no set plotline to follow. I usually let the RPs develop their own plot around the characters as it goes. Though I do have little plot bunnies prepared to release when the timing is right. >3

Rule things: Were all Rpers so we all know the basics when it comes to godmods and the mary-sues. You can use more than one character just don't overdo it. x.x)

The sun had just peeked up over the mountains, its warm rays lighting up the town. People were starting to come out to begin their days, walking to places of work, houses of relatives, or the market. The fog was still thick, structures in the distance were either not visible or just barely visible. People still continued on though, it was normal for them. The possibility of a Crovian attack on the town was low, after the Terieb wall guard gave them a well deserved defeat the crovians have attacked less and even have been seen less. The town was at ease at least... well at least when it came to the Crovian threat. Still many dangers lurked around the town, and one sometimes even got in without the guardsman realizing under the cover of night...

In a less populated side of town, near the Salopan Tavern a clicking noise, followed by a shuffle could be heard coming from a shadowed alley. The noise came again as the creature yet again pounced at the crumpled parchment, scratched at it then tossed it aside. It crouched down and yet again clicked its teeth. It had mistaken the parchment for a small animal. The disorientation it got from the circlet on it's head may have been a reason why, but the thickness of the fog wasn't helping either. It pounced again, grabbing the paper with it's teeth and rolling head over heels out of the alley. Tearing the sheet in half it crouched again and bore it's teeth. A gentile wind blew the two halves down the street and the creature instantly hopped after them, hissing in anger.

(This is my first group RP I started in prolly a year. Bear with me guise.

I have a different character i will be bringing in. Just need other players first. XD)

(OOC: I hope it's okay, me bringin' my little shapechanger in here, let me know if it's not and I'll cheerfully withdraw!)

The rickety cart made its clamorous way through the early morning alleys. The loose wheels knocked together and struck the road with enough clatter to wake the dead. A collection of copper pots and lanterns that had been loosely roped against the sides of the wagon bed jangled together, adding to the auditory assault. Pulling the cart was a stocky, wide-rumped draft horse with a decidedly irked expression in her eyes as she hauled the the contraption about. Approaching a crossroads, the horse stopped and peered at the fog-encircled buildings down each street with an uncannily human interest. Heaving a great sigh, the horse seemed to collapse in on itself for a nauseating heartbeat, revealing a woman standing entangled in harness trappings. Pulling herself out of them, she went to the driver's box and fished out the piece of paper she had been given. "Let's see," she muttered to herself, "there's the tavern. Where in the bloody Seven Stingray Hells is the wainwright? What kind of directions are these? This is not worth my time, even if it is for some coin." Crumpling the scrawled, grubby parchment she had received from the scrap man, a metal collector whose wagon tongue and horse's leg had broken at approximately the same moment, she threw it out into the fog.

Turning to regard the dark silent tavern once more, she didn't hear the rasping, clicking noises right away. The hiss came again and Nira turned her head in time to see her parchment borne back to her with a toothy demon in hot pursuit. Yelping, she scrambled for her wagon, ungainly climbing in on one side and kicking free a host of pots and metal bric-a-brac that clattered to the ground in her rush to find purchase. As the demon neared, she groped frantically against her side for something to defend herself with before remembering with a groan that of course, she had taken her sword belt off before starting out that morning and had left it with James at the inn. Casting about frantically, she grabbed the handle of a pot whose bottom had rusted out and held it defensively, crouching in the wagon and hoping the...thing didn't have a very good sense of smell or sight.

Nira is perfectly fine)

The creature continued to chase the paper, all of its ability to focus was on it, that the creature had mistaken for a small animal. It chased the paper halves, hopping wildly after them it's claws clicking loudly on the cobblestones and snarling silently. With a loud hiss it pounced the parchment halves gripping one in it's teeth and the other in a clawed hand. It skidded and eventually rolled into the side of the wagon with a thud. It hissed and smashed the half in its one hand in the ground and gnawed at the half in it's mouth. Spitting out the half it clicked its teeth in anger at it. As if screaming at it then shredded it with teeth and claws. The other half met a similar fate. it bit and gnawed at the shredded pieces but then suddenly looked up. Something else was there. The creature rounded the side of the wagon and peeked in, now staring directly at the woman crouched inside. Instantly it's mouth formed into a jagged smile, the bits of gnawed paper falling out of it's uneven and nasty teeth.

Almost instantly the creature climbed into the wagon, staying low with its teeth bared as if it were going to pounce on the woman. The attack never came. The creature just stayed there, right at the entrance to the wagon and glared, silently growling at her, it's face scrunched up into the ugly expression. But after a few moments passed it's eyes began to dart around in a paranoid way, the tension if its face faded some too. It lifted one clawed hand to rake its claws at the ring around it's head, small scars and scrapes around the ring showed that that was a common action for the creature. It blinked and shook its head, again focusing on the woman. Now it had stood up from it's crouch and started clicking its teeth at the woman and hissing. The facial expressions the thing made were less then pretty.
Nira (played by Ell)

Transfixed by the creature's lamplight eyes, Nira found herself unable to try and scramble down the other side of her wagon. She could only crouch down and block her face as well as possible with the use of her shoulder and the bottomless pan. When the attack didn't come, she uncurled enough to peek out at the creature, who was scrabbling at a grimy circlet lodged on its head. Nira forgot her terror long enough to gawk at the thing in unabashed curiosity, marveling at the creature and wishing that she could try its shape, if only to give someone the horrors if it popped out of her while she was drunk. The thought was fleeting as the demon stood up and began clicking at her. Something told her that whatever it was clawing at on its head had to do with the reason her bones were not currently in its teeth, and she was glad for that.

"What are you, then?" She murmured, edging carefully into a more defensible position. "Look atcha, eating paper like it was a spring rabbit. Ya hungry, then? Is that what it is? Probably are, thinkin' I'm food and all." Not taking her eyes off the creature, Nira leaned heavily over toward the driver's box, hand flailing to catch hold of her rucksack. When her fingers clasped around the fraying handle, she pulled it to her and rummaged savagely in it, coming up with a handful of strips of the salted cod and jerky she had been planning to eat later on in the day, as well as a roll that had become so stale it was probably considered a weapon on the streets. "Any of this catch your fancy?" She asked, gently tossing first the roll and then a strip of cod toward the creature, the roll sailing by past its shoulder and the strip of cod landing whisper-soft near one hind talon.

(Lance; balrog? Slovas not a balrog. 'Balrog' is my username or nickname on most of the avatar sites I'm on. Cant wait to see yer posts.)

When the woman began speaking to it the creature stepped back and was silent... but it's expression didn't change. it still remained, eyes staring her down and teeth exposed. After she had finished speaking the creature went back to clicking and hissing. But its racket didn't last long... when she tossed the food it instantly shut up and looked toward the strip of cod that landed next to it's foot. The creature snorted at it, lifting it's leg to get a better view, lost balance, and fell over. The creature flailed but eventually situated itself and snatched up the fish in one hand and sniffed at it several times before nearly inhaling it. It stared at her for a few more minutes, a hostile expression written all over it's face. It chattered it's teeth at her, then looked in the direction of the roll, then back at her..and hissed. How dare she throw a 'rock' at it. Its angry chattering stopped as it laid eyes on her rucksack.

The creatures face went blank, now thinking to itself an action that required more effort then needed thanks to that 'curse' around it's head... It's face showed signs of some sort of mental strain before it glared back at the sack, lunged forward, grabbing the sack with its teeth and leapt out of the wagon, knocking several objects out and over with the movement. It got a good distance away before tearing the thing open and digging through the contents. it tossed things it found uninteresting to the side, or back at the woman after gnawing at them.

(OOC: I'm still half asleep and seen something about the Slova and Balrog on that one introduction thread so my half asleep brain added 2 and 2 and got 57.5783345 somehow...heh. I'll look at the slova's page before I jump in when I get home. So I know my brain will be awake and know exactly what I'm jumping into.)

Nira (played by Ell)

"This is definitely not worth the coin," Nira grumbled to herself as the creature stuffed its maw with the fish. In the next second, it was out of the wagon with her bag and down the road. "Argh, no! You get back here with that!" A sensible person would probably have put as much distance as possible between herself and the fangy, snarly demon-thing while it was distracted. Nira was not, by anyone's account, a sensible person, especially when her bag was concerned. Launching herself up and out of the wagon, she didn't pause for even a second to contemplate her next course of action. Between one breath and the next, a large, thick furred forest bear was barreling down the road toward the creature hunkered over her bag.

Reaching the thing, the bear reared up to its full height and let out a cavernous, irritable roar. Pulling back one of its great, long-clawed paws, it cuffed at the demon's head with perhaps not all its might but enough to send the thing tumbling should the blow connect.
He stood quietly on the edge of a nearby roof. His attention having being gained by the noise he heard from the streets below. He had heard mainly screaming and followed it to where he was now a ways above the wagon starring down in silence at the commotion. All he had seen at first was just the wagon then the demon thing leap out with a bear soon in persuit. He stood there, his arms folded over his chest a moment and smirked lightly.

"Natures law at work...survival of the fittest...I wonder where I fit in on this piece of the food chain...well...guess I'll find out..."

He then leaped down from the roof tucking and rolling as he made contact with the ground and slowly made his way towards the combatants approaching the bear from behind. His gaze narrowed a minor bit as he quickly picked up the pace and ran at the bear and jumped through the air aiming a kick at it's back as it's clawed appendage was drawn back.

"Let's dance tall dark and hairy!"

Tossing a few more things from the bag aside the creature looked up. its glowing eyes instantly widened at the sight of the bear coming toward it. Instinct kicked in and it bolted down the street and hid behind a cart. Luckily the cart was still covered and locked up, the merchant probably still cozy and sleeping in his bed. Tossing the woman's rucksack aside, causing what was left of the things in it to scatter out of the things many holes, the creature stood back up and crouched low fully intending to now attack the bear. Maybe now the holy circlet wouldn't harm it. Clicking savagely it bolted out, not only did a sudden headache caused by the circlet make its attack end short, a man had leapt from the roof and onto the bear. The whole situation caught it off guard. The creature skittered back to the cart, this time hiding underneath it and began to bang its forehead off the damp cobblestones..
Nira (played by Ell)

Caught off guard when the creature ducked out beneath her swipe and bolted away, Nira landed heavily on the street, emitting a grunt of dismay. She had a fleeting instant to observe her bag go flying before hearing a voice shout "Let's dance, tall, dark and hairy!" Feeling a foot kick her in the backside, she rounded on her new assailant. Uttering a short, harsh roar of reproof for the man's silliness in attacking her, she stood her ground but tossed her head in the direction she could now smell the creature hunkering in. To the bear's nose, the demon's scent was like a slap in the face via a hand covered in rotting entrails, old socks and gone-over cheese, but for the bear, such a mixture of odors was not tremendously unpleasant. Whereas, the one who had kicked her was completely enveloped in the heady smell of adrenaline, a smell that made Nira a bit giddy as it washed over her in waves. Reluctant to give up the protection the bear's long claws, heavy frame and thick fur offered her against the rather unpredictable creature that had chased her into the wagon, she instead began shuffling her feet forward, trying in every way to demonstrate that she was not the ordinary bear and that perhaps the fellow ought to focus his martial arts skills on the thing currently kissing the cobblestones with its face.
He stood there watching the bear in his chosen stance for a moment then relaxed as he watched the bears ackward movement then scratched his head in minute confusion. He then glanced around the bear to the demon "kissing the cobblestones" and then back to the bear. He then shook his head in mild amusement as a light smirk crossed his face. He then waved a hand a bit signaling the bear to step aside as he began walking forward.

"Here mean looking thing. Come out and play. You look fun. Better than the goofy bear over here."

He then glanced over at the bear and grinned lightly.

"No offense fuzzball. But you do seem rather goofy...in a fun sorta way."
Cordel (played by Tigerell)

(GUH SORRY SO LATE DX)

The creature looked up and snarled at him, a trickle of it's black blood running down it's face. Its eyes shifted from him to the bear and back again. It started clicking it's teeth, as if speaking in some weird language and backed out from under the cart. It circled around, not taking those glowing eyes off of the two. After a while it hissed again and darted toward both of them.

(Sorry for the short too. D: my heads kinda all LJKLFSJDSLDJLD)
(It's cool. And now we wait for the bear to post in order to maintain a proper posting order. Heh.)
