I’ll start with what I’m looking for with the character before I get into my plot idea. I’m NOT looking for an exact Loki, and when I say Loki I’m referencing the Loki from the Thor movies and Marvel universe. I like the passion and determination behind his quest for the throne. I also enjoy him being sassy, intelligent, a smart ass and even at times playful. He can be crafty, sly, and also rather surprising in his actions. That is what I am referring too when I say I am seeking someone to play a Loki-Ish character. Now for the plot. I don’t have everything ironed out, but we can work on the details.
Quick Sidenote: Please! If you like the sound of the roleplay but don’t like some of my ideas, feel free to message me and see if I’m willing to compromise. I most frequently will be more than happy to toss out some of my ideas and put yours in!
Throughout all of time and space, everything is held together by what humans call magic. Each world has a slightly different kind and understand it to a different degree. Humans for the most part cannot see or interact with magic and they know little to nothing about it. Most other creatures can see it to some extent but not fully and understand it to a much further extent. Very few across the universe can see and understand it fully.Magic manifests itself in many different ways when it becomes a part of a physical form. All of the physical forms have power though. For each it is different. The creatures that can harness the magical energy, are most commonly revered as gods and goddesses.
All things are mortal though, even if some have longer life spans than others. Everything lives, and everything dies. Those with such great abilities are very likely to become consumed by their powers. Some become consumed by the greed that accompanies invincibility. Some can be driven mad by the knowledge gained. Few who cannot handle the strength of the magic and go through a process of ascension, where the soul and magic become one and leave the physical body. In such a case they become one with the universe and disperse.
Many beings and worlds know all of this. Some take it for granted while others utilize it. One world that is known for having a strong source of magic is called Mælån (mah-low-n). It sits out on the far edge of the galaxy so few travel to it to harness its energy. The beings who live there though are known for their hospitality. They welcome anyone and everyone. Even to those who are brutal towards them, they offer what they can. The species is off called Venators. They resemble a creature from Earth called a praying mantis. The heads of the creatures though look more like an Earth squid with a small little, glowing antenna hanging off of the back of their heads. What makes these creature so fascinating though, is that they can take on just about any form that they touch. Down to every last hair. Many speculate that it is the fact their world is so potent with magic while others say it is an evolved trait to make hunting easier, for they do eat other creatures on occasion.
Mælån is also known for having a small group of Venators called the Seers. Commonly a female, Seers are a Venator rich with magic who can see everything, but only when they goes into a deep meditation, which requires years of training. The Venator cherish and prize their Seers, so to protect them, they take them to a very remote part of their world and take them into an underground temple. Only in the area where an entrance is located, will you be likely to get killed by a Venator. Only one outsider has ever made it into the temple and returned out alive.
Your character is on a quest for power and has heard of these Venators called the Seers and despite all the stories and warnings, is determined to take out and use them to have an advantage. The seer could possibly even know of some powerful magical ruins to help your character gain power even faster though. The female you manage to kidnap surprises you though. She is one of the higher level ‘priestesses’ and has, for a long time, desired to leave the temple. She is willing to help you, though her terms are not something the normal power seeking being would be willing to forego.
I wish for this to be an adventure roleplay for the most part. I do want there to be some sort of connection between our characters built up over a long period of time, but it doesn’t have to be a romance. For that bit, i had three different ideas:
1) There could eventually be a strong one-sided love. It could be either the male OR female. In this case though, I would want one of them to betray the other. The one in love could get cast aside by the other, or maybe the one who isn’t in love falls in love with someone else completely so the other main character betrays them out of jealousy. Something dramatic.
2) They could form an extremely strong bond of friendship. They could become intimate and still understand that they are just friends if we eventually wanted to take that route or they could just be very good friends.
3) They could fall in love with one another. I do enjoy making sure my characters are not TOO happy though, so I would want one of the characters to die at the end of the roleplay, if we get there. My character could very easily become consumed by her magic or some other thing could happen.
Those are the different routes i currently see. If you can think up of something a little more interesting though please do! Regardless though, I would want the route of the two characters forming their bond to be rough and tedious. They certainly are not going to trust one another at the beginning and maybe they are constantly pushing aside the other one’s agenda to fulfill their own.
