The final portal has been sealed! What an incredible event! Thank you SO much to everyone who participated! This really is my favorite time of year, and it's because of all of you.

Over the next few days, everyone who assisted riddle-cracking, goblin-punching or weapon gathering will receive a slice of birthday cake, iced with a record of their personal accomplishments, to display with pride on their profile. You've earned it.

And now that the goblin party crashers have been beaten back, I'm able to give the entire site its birthday present. You've been asking for this for five years, and now Server is finally old enough to care for it properly: Enjoy private message chat, everyone.

You can launch any private message conversation as a chat by opening the conversation, and then clicking "Launch Conversation as Chat" from the sidebar.

Genre Jumble Art Contest

Many of you look forward to this art contest all year! Imagine a character that perfectly represents a RP genre, such as scifi, fantasy, romance, historical or many others, and create an illustration of it. It may end up as part of the group of characters that lives on our homepage for the rest of the year!

Sonnet contest

Much like the art contest, you'll be picking a genre of RP you want to illustrate -- but this time, you'll be doing it through poetry! A sonnet is a poem with a very specific structure and rhyming scheme -- it's all explained in the contest thread.

Essay contest

How has RP changed your life? Perhaps it helped you gain confidence, become a better writer, learn new things about yourself, maybe even led you to a special someone?

In 400 to 1000 words, explain the effects that being involved in RP have had in your life.

I am so tickled that my piece of cake says that I "distracted" the goblins, because I didn't damage them at all xD I had sooo much fun even though I didn't get to contribute much due to finals. I am a proud distraction!!

Wizard worded how I feel about this event excellently!! I had such a massive blast helping out to coordinate all the clues and popping in every now and then to smack down a goblin or two! I loved loved LOVED the Doubutt game to no end and I feel all warm and fuzzy from all the teamwork we've done. YAY!!

I admire your hard work for this event so much, Kim! I know your health has had its ups and downs and you even moved to a new place during the preparations for all this and you let absolutely nothing slow you down to get this done for us. Thank you thank you thank you!!

I'm looking forward to hearing how well our boss dragon friend is doing in rehab. Maybe next year he can help us plant some trees.

Well done, everyone! I love how this functioned so well as a community event, it was put together really well and lasted the perfect length of time.

I wish the heat hadn't been so taxing on me the last couple days of the event, but it was still quite a lot of fun to watch from the sidelines even after being out in the glorious fray of battle! You are all clever critters.
